Something About Nothing............ #14

Nice that you get some extra family time, but sorry about the circumstances.

Happy anniversary!

I’m concerned about the price. Maybe we can do one or two nights there just to see what it’s like. I’ll probably book a room at one of the new budget hotels sometime in the future. They look cute.

This recently showed up on my Facebook. Cute, but more than I want to spend on Crocs.

View attachment 888499

The budget hotels do look really nice too, and from the outside too, they`ve done a very good job on all three hotels.

Oh lordy no to those crocs!!! Maybe for a child, but not an adult!! And yes, I don`t think crocs are as good as they once were for comfort, last pair I ordered, same size as before, but they were so tight, no use really.

Another quick stop in.

I went for a walk on my morning break. It was still chilly - but the sun was shining so I soaked up all the vitamin D I could get.

Still have our weekly booking meeting. As tedious as it is - it definitely helps to keep all the moving parts of unit in order - to know tentatively ahead of time which pt is going where. If that makes sense. Other than that - only monotonous tasks to complete.

I would love the opportunity to be part of a book club one day. Right now - unless it was in the evenings - it wouldn't work for me. I think it would be interesting to hear how other people interpret the same story.

Those are cute. I could see myself rolling an ankle and being unable to walk for the rest of the day. I'm just that graceful :rotfl:

I loved our book groups, but when we opened it up to more people it just got complicated and not fun anymore, so we pass on it now. But, I think if you get a good group of people, they are priceless. Ours were usually in the evening, but sometimes during the day too. My closest friends that were in it want to start back up again, but we would need more folks otherwise it`s just us which might feel like a usual get together.

It is good to hear interpretations of a book you might not have considered for sure and I did enjoy reading books I might never have thought of reading had it not been suggested in our group.

Have a lovely weekend Pumpkin

hey all

The mr reminded me that I needed to replace my “dress” boots. I was so sad I had to put pair out to pasture, so comfy. Would you believe I took a Quick Look today while waiting in reception for my annual Mammo & found most of those I liked were already sold out in my size/color. What the heck! It’s August.

Had a message from my dr’s office. One of my kiddos was talking to the nurse on phone re setting up a test. He mentioned our trip. She asked where, yadda yadda. Didn’t I get a message reminding me “to both pack and wear” compression knee highs. I’ll call that the personal touch lol. from the “waddling”/race training, know they do feel great, even tho so dorky looking. I’m told they are trendy, um yeah, sure they are.

Robbie hope your DS is doing well, best wishes for a speedy recovery. He’s lucky to have mom actually know what’s she’s doing to treat him (vs the majority of the rest of us who make it up as we go lol)

Thot of you today, made the mistake of stopping @ big lots. A little ghoul called to me to use my $10 coupon (that was burning a hole in my pocket) to adopt him.

Tomorrow will be the last GD fun day before school starts…i was wrong on the date, not until the 28th in their district. Seems quite late. Here, it began nearly 2 weeks ago.

Rumored, at the very least, they need to drastically reorganize, whether thru bankruptcy or a sale. However, that was deemed antitrust issue earlier this year

Oh no, a math problem after 9 pm, my brain has just shut down completely lol

Sounds like a nice day!

Of course he does

I noticed early entry, nothing about EP in the new park

Good to have family in times like these. Nice of you to put them up.

Just say no to heels on crocs. Otherwise, cute theme there. I’ve quit on them, too many blisters; Sox or not.

Lordy yes, things sell out so quickly now!! I haven`t glanced at winter boots yet, had planned to wait till October, but think I might need to get a wiggle on!! Hope you find something you like though, new boots are a delight to have for winter!

Kyle runs in compression socks for longer races too, yes, not pretty but as so many do wear them for running they don`t look odd at all. But I don`t think they`ll ever morph into general fashion lol....but how considerate of them to call and leave a message like that, not something you hear of often.

I doubt I`ll ever buy our "fancy" crocs again, they are just so tight, even trying the dryer trick, still not as comfy as the older ones, shame as they were ideal.

My brother was laughing at me last night on the phone, I told him about this great new show on Disney+ with Martin Short called Only Murders in the Building....lol....yep, he laughed and said it had been out for ages, I said well, it`s new to us :rotfl: He loves it too.

Your trip is almost here!!!

I absolutely hate when I get a phone glitch and spend hours trying to figure it out.

Went to T-mobile and whatever the employee helped me with still ended up to have a technical issue.

Their advice was buy a new phone as this one is about to bite the dust.

I am starting to believe they may be right as it is 8 years old now.

The T-mobile store that I use is a short 5 minutes from my house.

My only decision now is what colors they have in stock.

lol....it`s served you well mac!!!

Pick a nice colour though, all important and my first question when Tom tells me it`s time to get a new phone!! I am never fond of new phones as I hate getting to grips with new ones!

See you all in the morning…

I`m here......:)

Well, what a morning!!! Not in the least bit cold but we have around 50mph winds here, just had a torrential downpour and it is so dark there is surely more rain on the way. So my plans have altered for going to get Tom some bits and bobs for his birthday, I`ll either go this afternoon if it clears some, or wait till tomorrow after my podiatrist appt, new orthotic time again.

But, no plans to go out in this weather, should be down to about 20mph winds by lunchtime but sunny at least.

So, Tom went back to sleep, when he finally gets up and has his shower, I`ll get my poached egg on toast, tea for now will do. My goodness this rain is incredible! No need to worry about the plants and lawns getting water.

Apart from some little things I need to get, no plans today, tomorrow will be a bit busier and looking forward to dinner out tomorrow night, we love the place we are going to and happy we got a reservation. I do hope they have oysters again as one of their specials!

Have a lovely Friday :flower3:

Happy Friday. A semi productive day today. I had to go to my doctor’s office for bloodwork. This is something I always dread. Apparently I have deep veins. It’s always a chore to get a good draw. Often times the nurse or phlebotomist will give up trying to find a good spot on my arms and just use a butterfly needle on the back of my hand. It also doesn’t help that I’m a slow bleeder. Today the nurse immediately found a good vein in my arm. I barely felt the needle stick, and filled the vials quickly. I was in and out in about 5 minutes. Probably my best blood draw ever.
Next stop was for food (it was a fasting blood test) and then a quick trip to Hobby Lobby. I ran out of one of the colors of thread I am using for my current project. I also checked to see what other colors were getting low and bought extra of those too.
Now it’s an exciting afternoon of doing laundry.

Those are cute. I could see myself rolling an ankle and being unable to walk for the rest of the day. I'm just that graceful

Just say no to heels on crocs. Otherwise, cute theme there. I’ve quit on them, too many blisters; Sox or not.

Oh lordy no to those crocs!!! Maybe for a child, but not an adult!!

Those crocs would rock for a costume. Bellbottoms, polo shirt and craft for Fred from Scooby Doo. Bellbottoms and tie dye or paisley for a hippie. To walk in, no.
I love these Crocs but would only buy them if they were flat and didn’t cost $100. I still have my “Baby Yoda” Crocs that were an emergency purchase at Disney several years ago. They are the standard wide Crocs. I don’t see how people with average size feel can wear them. I don’t wear them a lot, but they great for throwing on last minute for a quick trip out.

Now that’s great customer service.

That’s probably good advice. We are using an old. iPhone 6 at my office to text clients. The worst problem is that the battery sometimes goes from full to zero just seconds after removing it from the charger. I’ve been asking my boss to replace it, but she doesn’t want to spend the money. I keep hoping the phone will completely die.

It's Friday :cheer2:

Thank goodness it's Friday! It has felt like a long week. I'm glad we have another weekend at home. I am hoping that dh will start to put up my new blinds. They have arrived. 2 were the wrong size. My bil made a mistake when entering them into the online order form. I received an email stating that new ones are already on their way. I can't wait to see how they look once they are up. I think I'll be looking for some new curtains for the living room soon as well.

Son-in-law and gd arrived last night! I had dinner ready for them when they arrived. And of course, Grammie had the chocolate milk ready for her lol. They will be busy visiting and doing things with the other side of the family - and her other Grandpa. So we will take whatever extra time we get with them!

Dh is working on Sunday. He's putting on the tools to help a time sensitive project. They are working on a provincial building, and a power shut down - and changing out some major components. So it is supposed to be all hands on deck. But of course some of the employees (including our boys) are heading to the big city. There is a big concert all weekend. Metallica and other guests. So quite a few guys are not working. So dh is putting the tools back on and going to help them.

Geeze, I started this post at 830 - it's not almost noon!!!! It was a busy morning of tasks that kept hitting my desk!

Didn’t I get a message reminding me “to both pack and wear” compression knee highs. I’ll call that the personal touch lol. from the “waddling”/race training, know they do feel great, even tho so dorky looking. I’m told they are trendy, um yeah, sure they are.
I wear them periodically - especially while we are flying. It's just something I started doing - as I hate when my feet swell especially while traveling.
My only decision now is what colors they have in stock.
I always dread getting a new phone. I don't like my current phone, and still have another 6 months with this contract. I'll probably get a new phone once this contract is up - as I get a nice discount on phones with my healthcare job. So I'll probably upgrade and keep that phone for a few years again.
Probably my best blood draw ever.
I don't have to get that done often - thank goodness. If you are a hard stick - that would explain why you don't like going to the vampires (we tend to call them that here as a funny - as I am handing some patients their weekly lab req) . That would give me anxiety about getting poked.

Well, I should set up our meeting room. Our RO is buying / bringing pizza for the staff here today.

Have a great day everyone!

Home for a couple hours after the day out & onto the 1st Football game of the season. My head coach son is on a 2 game suspension for refusing to leave the field when one of his players was receiving one too many racial taunts & he felt it was being ignored…so unacceptable. That rural school, has had multiple incidents since. SMH However, he took it with good grace, knowing he did the right thing.

Middle DS stepping in his position. They found out this weekend the scheduled team forfeited. Would’ve been an easy win on the record. Nope, they scheduled game against the #2 ranked team in our part of state. Mercy (rule) me lol. Will build character if nothing else.

The ‘lil is cheering her first game, ever! She’s the flyer, sorta scary how they toss her around like a rag doll.

Nice day out, had to laugh, this is what $18.45 buys @ Crumbl cookie. Will say the chocolate strawberry ones were to die for…they are so rich, you need to portion them into slim pie-shaped servings.

We’ll call them a treat, whoever owns that company is sitting on a real gold mine.

he laughed and said it had been out for ages, I said well, it`s new to us :rotfl: He loves it too.
Haha everything old is new again
I`ll get my poached egg on toast, tea for now will do.
I really need to learn how to make a proper poached egg
and just use a butterfly needle on the back of my hand. It also doesn’t help that I’m a slow bleeder.
They always needed that with my Mom. Make sure you are wildly hydrated, seems to help a lot for many
Baby Yoda” Crocs that were an emergency purchase at Disney several years ago.
My middle DS still sporting a pair he also bought when his high tops got soaked in one of the summer downpours
Now that’s great customer service
I thot so. One of my friends in healthcare was a bit snippy, saying it’s a hippa violation…um, no it’s not. All my kids are fully listed on my hippa forms. Some people seem to take great delight in being a wet blanket on life.
I am hoping that dh will start to put up my new blinds. They have arrived. 2 were the wrong size. My bil made a mistake when entering them into the online order form. I received an email stating that new ones are already on their way.
What sort of blinds did you get. I needed replacement for the wide (picture window sort) wooden ones in my DR. Couldn’t find them anywhere. Wasn’t about to pay thru the teeth to get custom made. Of all places found white ones on WM website during the pandemic. They are holding up well, just a bit tricky to keep them white & bright. Thankfully, they have a coating of some sort on them that helps. It surely brightened up the room replacing the walnut tone I had there in the past.

Glad the blood draw went well, never a fun thing to get done.

Hapy new blinds!! It is nice to have a change now and again.

Enjoy your time with the little lady this weekend.

Your son certainly did the right thing there, abhorent behaviour from that other team!!! It`s good to know we still have folks prepared to stand up for the kids who were being targetted, and disgusting he got that ban. You have sons to be proud of for sure!

Oh I can imagine watching your GD being thrown in the air!!! She will be an absolute star as always and yes those treats in the box look so good!! She is a young lady that excels so well in everything she does, her future is a bright one for sure.

lol....Tom can show you how he does poached eggs! I swear they are the nicest of anyone who can make them outside of professionals, mine are always just not as good as his. I love the yolk very runny as they should be and he gets it just right.

Have a safe journey and hope you both have a fantastic trip Janet :wave2:

We`re following the keishashadow style of celebrating.....yep, ended up going out last night with some friends for a "birthday" drink for Tom, it was fun and we weren`t home too late. One of our locals was celebrating owning the pub for 2 years so they were giving out complimentary prosecco when you went in which was nice, so stuck to that for the rest of the evening, not the free stuff we did pay!

Up early for appointment with my friend for new orthotics. Then I`ve ordered a couple of pairs of shorty leg pajamas, will go pick them up, get a few bits while we`re out then home again and get ready for both our dinner out tonight and some prep for the brunch tomorrow, everyone is bringing something so I don`t have too much to do for that.

Hair and make up later this afternoon and hope my feet survive the shoes I plan to wear, only ever put them on when I don`t have to walk far!!! But they look good!

Looking forward to dinner tonight, we love this place and Kyle is coming to pick us up and drop us off, I have some dessert in case he fancies something extra when he comes in before he heads home, but as he is in marathon training again, I doubt he will, but the choice is there.

French toast with bacon this morning then off out to drive over to my appointment.

Have a lovely Saturday :sunny:

@airport another 9 hrs and we'll be there 🤪. Dreaming of poached eggs, settled for an egg McMuffin.

Figure under my dye job racked up a few white hairs after watching this stunt; that comprises partially of a split, then a flip.

lol.....Tom says he`ll cook you a lovely poached egg anytime!!!

Those are quite the pictures, yes would curl straight hair anyday watching that!!! But she looks to be enjoying every second of it! Big congrats to her though!

You should be well on your way by now!!!

Orthotics ordered, should get them before we go, it was lovely catching up with our friend too, life gets in the way sometimes, but you always know your real friends no matter how long passes.

Picked up my new jammies afterwards, popped to the butcher for a tonne of bacon, doing mimosas so made sure we picked up fresh fruit juice and a few other little bits and home, wrapped up his gifts and wrote his card, everything done for tomorrow.

Now, time to get ready for tonight!! No idea what I`m wearing, but have an Olaplex conditioning treatment on, plucked eybrows and once I have my hair done and styled, make up on and decide what to wear. It`s not a very fancy place, more traditional, so anything goes.

Glass of wine though as I get ready, that`s a permanent tradition!!! 3 hours till we eat so I may need a snack 🧀

Tom says he`ll cook you a lovely poached egg anytime!!!
Yum! Just wolfed down half a Panera Italian hoagie. In PHX
Orthotics ordered, should get them before we go, it was lovely catching up with our friend too
Good to have for the trip!
This am while traveling, SWA FA told me she had a meeting yesterday

First 8 rows (46 seats) will be dedicated to seat purchase

Accessible pre boards will still board first but, be directed to back of plane...last to disembark
Quoting me self here. Got some dirt from SWA FA this am re upcoming changes to their methodology

Drool.

We don't have dinner res for another 3 hours, may perish

The Mr has been napping for an hour. Wish I could zonk out as well for a nap

The SWA info may or may not be entirely accurate. Just odd the FA shared it that way to the group of us in area of where a woman was being unhappily seated due to missing pre board

Carole pour a glass for me …

I know you`re not a wine drinker, so.........:)

Hope you got fed and it was super!!

A good rumour is never the worse for sharing when it comes to airlines!!!

Carole….stupid cat jumped on my lap and on my keyboard and screwed up what I was writing to you

Looks like I need to start over on what i started to post to you.

lol....cats will be cats!

We had a lovely evening out last night, and food was exceptional! I did get my oysters and they were very large! I know keisha will appreciate this picture 😁

i-NmK8SdL-X2.jpg

We were so full afterwards and we did enjoy some champagne which was also rather lovely.

But just one of those perfect nights we just had such a good time.

Getting ready for friends arriving soon for brunch, been setting everything up and they should be here soon, sitting having a cuppa trying not to nibble. Kyle will be here this afternoon for the Grand Prix, he`s running a half marathon this morning for charity with some of his friends and he`s staying for dinner tonight, although we won`t need much after the brunch!

Happy Sunday :sunny:

Good morning. Have some time before church, so I’m going to try to sneak in a post. Had a lazy day yesterday and will probably have another today.

My head coach son is on a 2 game suspension for refusing to leave the field when one of his players was receiving one too many racial taunts & he felt it was being ignored…so unacceptable. That rural school, has had multiple incidents since. SMH However, he took it with good grace, knowing he did the right thing.
Sorry he got suspended, but you must be very proud that he stood up for his player. No one should be subject to that.

The ‘lil is cheering her first game, ever! She’s the flyer, sorta scary how they toss her around like a rag doll.

Figure under my dye job racked up a few white hairs after watching this stunt; that comprises partially of a split, then a flip.
It always makes me a little nervous watching cheerleaders do those stunts. Some of those girls get really high.

Make sure you are wildly hydrated, seems to help a lot for many
I drank 3 large glasses of water that morning, so I’m sure that helped. Unfortunately I have a nice bruise on my arm now.

One of my friends in healthcare was a bit snippy, saying it’s a hippa violation…um, no it’s not. All my kids are fully listed on my hippa forms. Some people seem to take great delight in being a wet blanket on life.
So many people like to throw out HIPAA violation when they really don’t understand it. When my mom was still living in SC I sort of bullied her into signing forms so her doctors would talk to me and my siblings. I felt like my aunt never gave us complete information.

Yes, new orthotics will be ideal, I have the worst feet!!!
I am considering getting some for myself. My feet are fine, but when I went with B to see the podiatrist he suggested that they might be able to help me with my knee discomfort.

Time to go.

Hey all. Nice night on the hotel's rooftop restaurant. We could watch both DCA & WDW show/fireworks. Seemed as tho it was us and mostly large groups of locals celebrating this & that. Even tho I had dress on was decidedly underdressed. There were sequins & furs lol

Think I may start mini TR on DL board lol

Today, pool & then 1st OOgie boogie party

When my mom was still living in SC I sort of bullied her into signing forms so her doctors would talk to me and my siblings.
You did the right thing there for her protection
Unfortunately I have a nice bruise on my arm now
Ouch, icing immediately afterwards would help my mom with that

We tend to easily bruise in my family. My lower legs always have a few as I'm such a klutz
It always makes me a little nervous watching cheerleaders do those stunts. Some of those girls get really high.
Yes, maybe cause it's her 1st go-round doing it I initially thot.

I'd never tell her I'm nervous, confidence is essential component after learning skill sets with any gymnastic move.

Believe it's more the idea that it's a leap of faith of sorts at this point that makes my stomach drop when the big stunts coming up. Not sure I could let go and be dependent on team mates to "have my back" that way lol

Is it wrong I have oyster envy? lol. Haven't seen ones that size in years. Was supposed to eat at the Morton’s around the corner here to grab some. Price is lower than the boathouse in DS BTW. Menu doesn't show them for lunch. Need to call

Good day all.

Good Sunday evening everyone :wave2:
IMG_4172.jpeg

We’re going to throw caution to the wind and not order any of whatever they are calling the pay system now. I hope we don’t regret it.
Hopefully things will work out for you. I don’t know why they have to make it so hard.

That’s wonderful news. Prayers for a speedy recovery.
Thank you he is doing well.

Sending well wishes mummy dust to Robo’s son. I will cross fingers and toes you do get away in September, Robo. 17 more sleeps before my 2 week stay. Hopefully if around when I am, maybe can enjoy talk and some coffee drinking with you.
Thank you Lynne. Sounds like you have another nice vacation coming up.

Birthday dinner last night was good, and was from my favorite Chinese food place. Kids gifted me a new soccer jersey, so will be sporting that this weekend. We are a soccer family. ::yes::
Happy belated birthday.
IMG_4161.gif

But, as always, continued good wishes for your son and you too of course, but sounds very positive for both of you.
Thank you Carole.

It is. I have been looking forward to this trip.

Happy belated Anniversary.

This recently showed up on my Facebook. Cute, but more than I want to spend on Crocs.
I saw those big heeled Crocs in person and they are huge and heavy. I can’t imagine anyone being able to walk in those.

Robbie hope your DS is doing well, best wishes for a speedy recovery. He’s lucky to have mom actually know what’s she’s doing to treat him (vs the majority of the rest of us who make it up as we go lol)
Thank you Janet. He is doing well.

Mom’s usually have a knack for knowing what to do to help their children when needed Nurse or not.

Thot of you today, made the mistake of stopping @ big lots. A little ghoul called to me to use my $10 coupon (that was burning a hole in my pocket) to adopt him.
I saw that Pumpkin at Big Lots. I’am sure it will be a good addition to your Halloween set up. Nice choice.

Their advice was buy a new phone as this one is about to bite the dust.
Treat yourself to a new phone Mac.

Kyle runs in compression socks for longer races too, yes, not pretty but as so many do wear them for running they don`t look odd at all. But I don`t think they`ll ever morph into general fashion lol....but how considerate of them to call and leave a message like that, not something you hear of often.
Compression socks are great to have on hand.

It is terrible that there are still schools that allow such awful behavior to go on. Your son did the right thing.

Nice day out, had to laugh, this is what $18.45 buys @ Crumbl cookie. Will say the chocolate strawberry ones were to die for…they are so rich, you need to portion them into slim pie-shaped servings.
My sister bought some of them when the store opened here locally. I tried a piece. They are rich.

We also have a “Everything Bundt Cake” in the same shopping plaza. Those cakes are too sweet.

Figure under my dye job racked up a few white hairs after watching this stunt; that comprises partially of a split, then a flip.
Yep, Getting tossed in the air is not for the faint of heart. She is brave to do those stunts.

We had a lovely evening out last night, and food was exceptional! I did get my oysters and they were very large! I know keisha will appreciate this picture
Nice looking oysters.

Happy Birthday to Tom. Sounds like you all have been celebrating in style this weekend. May he have many more Happy Birthdays.

Think I may start mini TR on DL board lol
Sounds like a great idea. I will be over to read it when you start it. Have a great vacation.

Our nice few days reprieve from the heat has gone. We are going to be roasting for the next few days. With predicted temps midweek of 98 to 100.

I went to Cotsco yesterday and look what I found.

A nice hooked rug. Just what I needed to add to my area where I put my Witch Tree for Halloween.

Did a walk in our local mall the other day and found some Crocs for Halloween. Even the box they came in is cool.
