Looks like Bermuda is going to get it.
Heat index today is 108 with every humidity possible from all the rain. Fortunately we work inside.
I have tasked myself with making 25 pounds of 7 layer cookies for the hospitality room at the conference we are attending. Hope I can keep my paws off.

Good morning everyone. Yesterday made up for my boring week last week. I spent most of the day trying to fill the 15 cancellations we got.

Today I am home sick. I think it is something I ate. B is fine, so I don’t think the food we had for dinner was bad. Meanwhile, I look like someone punched me in the eye. I did some googling and i think it’s something called petechiae, damaged blood vessels. In my case caused by vomiting. I think I will be staying home for the rest of the day.

I think matching shirts look really nice, you can see how much effort some folks have made especially with large groups and they`ve all got into the spirit.

I love reading everyone’s shirts when I go to the parks. My last time at Universal I got a compliment on my “Not fast, not furious” shirt.

My early am opthamologist appt pushed back to late afternoon today due to an addition to the surgical schedule. Need two tests done I get annually. Between the inevitable delay that happens as the day goes on dr office phenom and the length of those tests & dilation in between, will be lucky if I get home by 6 pm. Ugh

What a pain. Hope everything went well.

Making a pit stop in this morning!

Yesterday - the Monday and Mondaying it was a CRAZY day yesterday. Best not to talk about it. We survived - end of story.

My evening was quiet. I whipped up dinner ( grilled elk tenderloin, roasted potatoes and carrots with a cucumber salad) then went for a walk and watered all my pots and flowers. DH went to bed extra early - as he's still fighting some sort of summer cold. Spent some time with the remote and laptop.

Dinner tonight will probably be grilled chicken - with some sort of starch and grilled asparagus for a veg...with a caesar salad. Chicken is out defrosting already. I was on the ball this morning - and took it out before I ran out the door.

Well, I was the preverbial lizard today and happy to be one.

I know you appreciate those hotter days you get - as they are always numbered.

lol...yes, our hot days are few and far between here in the UK, so we absolutely make the most of them when we can. I`m still paler than chalk though haha

Wouldn`t live in any other country though.





Ended up spending the afternoon and evening with some friends at their place, time passed so quickly as we chatted the day away. Had dinner with them, she is an amazing cook, can create something out of nothing and it`s always special, so we`ll have our duck tomorrow night instead, it`s very fresh.

It is officially getting darker much earlier and we have some leaves falling off our trees already, seems far too early.

Early night planned again as we`ll be up early again walking, just the two of us tomorrow, but weather looks lovely as it`ll be around 70F at 8am, ideal for walking in.

Time for a cuppa.....

I’m Gruber (Grandma Uber) today. Had to top off the gas tank. Decided to pick up our beloved Primanti’s Sammie’s for early dinner. I only wolfed down half my pastrami…skipped breakfast & lunch. May have to revisit it later. Yum

I’m at the point I either order a kid’s meal or just snack most of day. Just too much food in that heat, doesn’t sit well on me

His message however....not so much!!

We still are storing his castle, and many different genres of action figures (most MIB) that my kids swear will be their retirement. Don’t get me started on sports cards

We had butterflies, birds and I said if one of the deer appeared I`d feel as though I were in a Disney movie.....I promised not to sing!!!

I know that sandwich, saw it on tv once or twice, always looks good, but I don`t know how you can go without breakfast or lunch!! I`d be passing out, Tom can go all day without eating though and one of my brothers, my goodness, he can go for so long without food it scares me!

You never know what those things will be worth in the future, I`m always amazed how much old books are worth but memorabilia is another level altogether.

A little Wednesday dance

Hope you had a nice time gardening, nice when it`s a little cooler.

I did, our weather here has been really nice for the past few days.

Scallops as an appetiser and salmon, both from Scotland, were beautiful. Seared the scallops very briefly in lemon butter, softened garlic & shallots and served it with samphire, then salmon lightly roasted and served with couscous and salad. Lovely meal.

I had to look that up. It has a lot of health benefits associated it. It is an immune booster and has benefits to gut health. Interesting. What does it taste like?

I made this bad boy for myself yesterday, the ‘lil and I dove into it this am. Naturally, topped with a dollop of reddi whip. She declared it better than the original @ Cheesecake Factory.

Is that a Oreo cookie cheesecake. Looks impressive.

1 week at Sapphire and 1 week Portofino CL. Requested Theme park view at Sapphire. Booked Lagoon view. I think that’s House 2. Love that resort but I always at least once each stay take the wrong elevator. So confusing.
I’m hoping to get a Harbour view at Portofino. Following a blogger who frequently posts updates on construction there. Looks like a lot of the Piazza walls are down. But west wing still has scaffolding.

Sue sounds like you have made some nice selections for your hotel stays. I like the Lagoon View at Sapphire too. It is nice.

Hope you feel better soon Charade. My niece is very fair skinned and when she gets sick and throws up she gets petechiae too. It looks bad at first, but will clear up.

We have another beautiful day today. Going to take advantage of the cooler temps to trim some of the ornamental bushes in front of the house. I like being outside in this weather.

Watched little J on Monday. He is into helicopter's, planes and trucks now. So he is excited to talk a those topics. We went to Target and enjoyed the Starbucks in the store. We then went to the toy section and he spotted a plane and told me it was a Seaplane and it was. So I bought it for him. He was over the moon with his new plane.

I received the sweetest gift 47 years ago today when my sweet son was born at 11:29 am. We are going to meet up with him for dinner this evening to celebrate.








Going to do a little on TR and then get out the door.

Hello homies!
Going to try to ketchup the best I can today on the boards.

Had a few issues on my iphone but seems whatever it was, is fine now.

My Iphone is now 9 years old, still works most of the time but need to replace it soon.
I drag my feet when it comes to these things..

Will go to T-mobile later today just to check the Iphone out as normally it’s me causing phone issues.

In my mind, I still think you are only 40…

Mr Mac and I were going to take a walk in the battlefield early today but when we almost left our house, he did not feel very well.
Changed plans and he is back in bed.
Appears he now has a slight fever but once he sleeps a few more hours, whatever he has, might go away.
We can always take our walk another time.

Our cleaning service comes this afternoon and will have them not clean our bedroom just in case he has a bug.
Can’t risk exposing them.

I think he is fine and will feel better once he has more sleep.

Had a marvelous time with a dear friend the past week.
Been friend since grade school.
Wish she lived next door and not in California.
Her stay with us was way too short!

Hope all the homies are doing fine.

It's hump day ...only 2 days left until the weekend - after today.

We have a locum Dr / RO filling in this week as our department RO is away on vacation. I was sweating bullets yesterday. I had filled his schedule - according to " how he likes things to be done" as well as several emails with details of his travel arrangements - and it was 9:45 the first pt is checking in - and he hasn't shown up yet in the department. We didn't even know if he was onsite or not. Sure enough he strolls into the back office at 9:58 ready to see the pt I've head stories about him - not impressed. For a man who is our provincial head of oncology - I would except more from him.

Another quiet night last night. Dh is starting to turn the corner now and feel better - but he still went to bed extra early. No walk last night as it was a windy icky evening. The wind blow in smoke all day yesterday. So now I've got a stuffy head and itchy eyes. Hopefully as quick as it rolled in - it will roll out.

It is officially getting darker much earlier and we have some leaves falling off our trees already, seems far too early.

Here too. It makes me sad I noticed a few of the trees have some yellow leaves. With the cooler mornings, it's not surprising and we know it's going to happen. My feet silently cry when I have to put socks and shoes back on. I want to keep wearing my dresses and sandals.

I have to follow a low carb diet, ugh. Diabetic. I don’t eliminate all carbs, and eat the right carbs that don’t spike BS like simple carbs do. And of course at Universal I’ll be cheating

@disneyseniors oddly enough I get more lost at Sapphire! All those elevators and don’t go to the same place! Portofino is easy, everything is around the Harbour.

@Charade67 .i remember the 2 of us getting lost trying to find the lobby from Amatista when we got together for dinner! It is confusing finding your way around that hotel.

@Lynne G great room view. Love BC as long as I have a full balcony! So often booked YC for that reason! We leave tomorrow for Universal! If you have plans on coming to Universal too message me!

Last day before trip. Have noon hair appt! And also have to put my things in the suitcases. Everything is laid out ready to put in packing cubes. Friends are coming over tomorrow morning to take us to airport. Did online checkin for Sapphire. Woohoo!

Samphire does taste of the sea, it is slightly salty, but not overpoweringly so. I tend to steam it for a few seconds even if I`m using it in a salad, takes that edge of it. Some say it tastes like baby asparagus, but as I don`t like asparagus, I don`t think so. It`s very fresh and yes, very good for you.

Walked this morning and it was hot!!!! Then went to get some new trainers, did some grocery shopping as we had invited everyone and two others from our Wednesday lunch group over to ours for bbq food instead of eating out today.

Big success, there were 10 of them and Tom was kept busy cooking on the grill, one of the men helped out so he could grab some lunch. Just made something of everything and we were left with a few items to give away with them. My friend Sue brought a huge white chocolate cheesecake which went down well.

Lovely afternoon and such good company. It`s still glorious outside so we`ll be out till it cools down, doubt this weather will last for much longer but while it does, this lizard will enjoy it.

Not sure if you can see the leaves changing in the picture, looks obvious in real life but maybe not so much in the picture.

I liked this, some flowers are blooming beautifully right now!!!
