Something About Nothing............ #14

Charade glad to hear your feeling better. Hang in there your face will heal up soon.
Thanks. I’m almost back to normal.

My niece is a NightMare Before Christmas fan and she will love these. The picture does not do them justice they are really nice.
Cool!

Here is some of my new bracelets. I’am looking forward to sharing some with them the TM’s in the Potter Parks.
Cute bracelets. That’s such a nice gift for the TMs.

Our big birthday month is December!!!
Same here. Well, just 2 of us actually, but dh’s birthday is Christmas Eve.

I’m apparently thick as a brick as I’m quite confused. Family handled it for me in past under old system, i just paid for it lol.

If anyone needed a reason to skip WDW & just do EP @ U, read on…otherwise, skip this vent lol

Have it for DL, their’s is a different animal.
We didn’t use any Genie or LL on our trip to DL and don’t plan to use it on the next trip to WDW. We might be crazy, but we’re just going to wing it.

Please tell me a sloth included
But of course.

Not happy with thot of Muppets departing, wish they’d go into animation courtyard instead.
I’m hoping this is just a nasty rumor.

Knew it lol!
You can find it at Kohl’s in the men’s department.

That was when we decided it was his time. He was 15 years old - in perfect health except for that

He was such a great dog. Great with the kids, loved being at the lake lot and LOVED being in the boat fishing with us. I still miss him, and it's been 4 years now since he crossed the rainbow bridge.
I know that had to be difficult. I had no idea that animals can get dementia.

but scored 20 off with AP, so got 25 dollars for a Dooney haunted mansion bag.
Wow! That is a steal.

I didn’t go to the play tonight. I now have a ticket for next Friday. I ended up having a very lazy day. I guess tomorrow I will do some housework.

Went to the Disney Store in the outlet place closer to Universal. Not my favorite area, but scored 20 off with AP, so got 25 dollars for a Dooney haunted mansion bag.
Wow that’s really unusual! The other outlet gives zero discounts (no AP/DVC, not even CM.)

That outlet site usually only has the less popular prints, got lucky there once with a bigger bag - steamboat Willie.

I honestly can’t finding any D&B for $25! Enjoy.

Beware, they are very addictive. I have a couple of HM ones and a “few” more in other designs. :rolleyes1 Purses & shoes are admittedly my Kryptonite.

Mr handed me the 90th anniversary Donald Duck :love:last week that he & GD found after they ‘secretly’ searched thru multiple stores in the parks for the perfect print placement

Surprised me as I thot the Pooh loungefly was my BD gift. Had wanted it since it sold out last year before I grabbed it, a quilted fabric version of the mini bookbag. A friend saw & wanted one for a gift, nope, sold old again quickly. Crazy

Charade - nearest kohls is hour RT from me. I usually only do a big order on Black Friday from them. may have to schedule a visit for that shirt, so cute.

So, we made our connection! We got to the gate for connection just as they started loading! Great I thought, but was worrying about luggage making it! And it did!
Got in late last night, buy the time we settled in our room, it was 3am. Slept in this morning and headed downstairs when we woke for Amatista breakfast buffet. Normally I don’t do breakfast buffet as I feel I can’t eat $30 worth of food, and so pretty expensive for bacon & eggs! But we enjoyed it.
Wait times were pretty good, just didn’t have the time. Had to get back to our room to have a bit of a rest and shower before dinner.
Headed to Islands and ran into @Lynne G and her lovely daughter. We made plans for Mythos lunch tomorrow.

We walked around Studios, rode Spiderman and Jurrisac River ride. That was about it. Had to leave to meet a local friend for dinner. And a trip to Publix.

Tomorrow I have Passholder Nights reservation! But will have to go alone. Daughter isn’t a Passholder.

@keishashadow
as a matter of fact I did find beads!!! Purple & gold ones!

@Robo56
love the bracelets!

@disneyseniors lol! So far I haven’t gotten lost today! lol. I admit to being directionally challenged.

Bed is calling, 11:30 local time. Better start adjusting. Hard going west-east! My time it’s only 8:30.

Not happy with the cat right now. He woke me up at 5. I had finally gotten back to sleep sometime after 6:30, then he started meowing and scratching the walls around 7:00. I don’t think he is happy unless everyone else is awake too.

No major plans for me this weekend. Tonight is opening night for To Kill a Mockingbird. I may or may not be going tonight. One of our friends wants to see dh perform, but is only in town this weekend. The show is sold out this weekend, so told dh he could offer my ticket and I could go next weekend.

The treadmills also have fans. Bonus.

I seem to get them whenever I go to the theme parks despite taking precautions.

I do that too. I’m hoping for lower crowds in November.

Caspian seems to have settled down (for now) so I am going to try to go back to sleep.

Hope you got back to sleep, one of the many reasons we don`t have pets.

Good Friday morning everyone :wave2:

Thank you Carole. We had a wonderful time out for his birthday dinner. The food was delicious and he liked his gifts.

Sounds good.

Thank you Mac. We did celebrate in style.

So good to hear you had a nice visit with your friend.

Hope your Mister feels better soon.

Pumpkin over my years of Nursing we had to re-educate many old doctors who suffered from the “I’am King syndrome”.

Glad to hear your hubby is feeling better.

Hope you get your allergies under control. That can be miserable.

Thank you.

Carole thank you for reminding us of Janets birthday.

Happy belated birthday Janet. Hope you had a great day and your family spoiled you as you deserve.

Charade glad to hear your feeling better. Hang in there your face will heal up soon.

Thank you.

Yep, hard to walk with those blisters when they pop up. Hopefully it will heal up quick so you can get back out to walking.

The prices of rental cars have been all over the place.

Pretty pictures of flowers.

Sue hope your flights worked out.

Went out yesterday to do some errands and also did a little shopping. I found these Jack and Sally Plates at HomeGoods.

My niece is a NightMare Before Christmas fan and she will love these. The picture does not do them justice they are really nice.

Hubby has a MD appt this morning so I need to get scootin.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone.

I think I have corns there too which makes it worse, didn`t get far this morning, but no walking now till Monday, so they should heal hopefully.

I do love flowers in the garden, can`t take credit for any of them but I do admire them often.

Love the plate, super gift for anyone who loves that movie. Those bracelets must have taken some time to do.

Charade….I think it is in every cats contract they have to wake us up at the crack of dawn.

There are some cute meme`s of cats waking you up lol....

I don't know about you, but at this time of year I am Sick of watering and weeding the flower gardens! It takes over a half an hour just to water all of them. But they are beautiful:)

LOL, I Love Gruber!!!! So appropriate. And a Happy Belated Birthday to you, Janet. Hope you had a wonderful day:)

Me too. I order kids meals all the time and they are just about right for me.

Thanks Robo. I don't post as much as I want to, but enjoy this thread so much. We have a lot of very nice people on here:)

Oh, so cute. He's into helicopters, plans and trucks now? They change their minds frequently don't they. My 3 y/o GGS now loves anything to do with horses! So he is getting a collection of all kinds of horses now and he is soooo happy! Love those little ones.

Happy belated Birthday to your son!

I have seen on TV ads that Walmart is offering the iphone 12 with a years $20.00 a month subscription for StraightTalk. I have one of their iphone "deals" and I love my iphone from Walmart. I refuse to pay their full price for an Iphone so I look for the deals:)

I hope Mr. Mac is all better and things are now alright?

I'm glad to hear that your husband is feeling better now.

Oh, Sue. I get lost in our small town! Really! I can get lost anywhere. Tom and Carole had to help us find our way out of Sapphire Falls on our last trip. We would probably still be there if they didn't, LOL.

Oh no,, the new shoe curse! I hope you find some that are really comfortable. I have "weird feet" too and have a hard time finding ones that look good and fit good too. I have to try on many shoes to find a pair I can wear. I don't think I could order shoes online because I really need to try them on first.

Our big birthday month is December!!! So much fun buying all those BD gifts and then Christmas too. Our granddaughters new husband has his birthday on Christmas Day!!! It's a fun month, but a lot to contend with.

I think I mentioned about weird feet up above - oh well, getting old and forgetful, LOL

Charade, I would love to see the play of TKAM. I admit that I have only read the book last year. I really enjoyed the book and wonder why I never read it before.

LOL, Pumpkin. As another RN, I Know just what you are talking about. We called it "doctoritis".

Again, another Happy Birthday for Janet.

I love the look of that plate. You certainly find good deals:)

Those bracelets are adorable and I'm sure the TM's love receiving them.

It is rainy and dark out today. So, I ventured out to get my hair cut and then right back home to work on some 'projects. For some reason, I seem to have a lot of projects with deadlines that need to be done? How in the world did I let that happen? I decided to make a table runner for my brothers lady friend's new table. So, I need to get started on it soon as we are leaving next Month! I'm not as fast as I used to be with these sewing projects anymore, so I need to get with it. I'm also finishing a new table runner for Me that I started a while back. Almost done with that one. Then I am making our 3 y/o GGS a camo fleece hooded jacket for this fall. I make them for all the grandson's and they loved them. Fall will be over if I don't get it done soon. And, of course, I need to do 16 more inches on the front of my new crocheted top and then sew it together. That One will not get done by end of summer with all these other more urgent projects to do. Wow. I just made myself tired writing all that:)

We didn't do a garden this year, so we are going to the Mennonites garden sell tomorrow and get their wonderful fresh, clean, healthy produce. It's much easier than caring for a garden and the produce is much better than what we can do.

I hope everyone has a good weekend!

ruth

Happy new haircut!!!!

lol...I forgot about getting out of Sapphire haha, that was funny!!! You`d have worked it out eventually, I think I forget it can be confusing as we know the palce like the back of our hand, well heck we should do by now!!!

I love the sound of having Mennonites around you with beautiful produce, sounds nicer than just "growers" lol.....

You have a lot going on and it takes talent to do what you do, you are a gifted family for sure!!!

I`m laughing at our "weird feet" I`m glad someone gets it, I hate shoe shopping, but i did need new trainers for walking and I will get them broken in within a few days, they`re Skecher D`Lites and so comfortable.

The sandals I took a chance on as they were online only, not in stores, but I should have known better. Got them returned today, will have a look around next few weeks to see if I can find anything else.

Have a lovely weekend Ruth, it`s always good to see you post here!!!

Hey all! Spent 2 hours this am grooming the pooch, substantial hair cut and nails. Sounds ridiculous but, I’m exhausted. Stressful cutting his double coat of hair so he doesn’t look scalped. Like to take it down to a 1/4 of an inch end of each season to make sure he doesn’t have any hidden ticks etc. tomorrow, bath day. Good thing he is a patient and gentle boy!

Bad storms supposed to roll in soon through tomorrow, not connected to Ernesto tho. They had to postpone tomorrow’s golf outing. Just as well, not sure I had it in me to make all that pasta.

Supposed to go to kickoff event for GD school this evening. Food trucks and presentation on the field with the teams, band & cheerleaders. Thinking I’m going to bail. Have enough actual FB games to sit thru in inclement weather.

Think my problem is I’m trying to master both systems at the same time. Going to concentrate on DL first.

Their old max pass system was easy, could stack the return times. Supposedly, it can be possible still there if rides “go down” & you get a recovery FP???

I finally caved 2 years ago and bought one of those Loungefly mini book bags. I, ahem, have a few now.

Have neck/back issues, find them very comfy vs a cross body or fanny pack with a water bottle etc. often forget I’m packing it TBH

Lololol any beads?

Once they had phones, chargers, BB hats etc., I made my boys carry their own string bags. Noticed they immediately began to pack lighter for park trips. GD can pack all her needs in a lululemon crossbody not much bigger (but fatter) than a dollar bill. No idea how

Do u do the one by the outlets? I like their wine selections there much better than WM

Trying to figure out how many 9 X 13 pans that is, sounds like a lot.

I don’t do flaked coconut, weird textural thing. Just skip it but, it seems too heavy??? Without it.

Uck. Feel better. Had it happen in December with bronchiospasms. Looked like a werewolf

Please tell me a sloth included

Indy for me, although I do like that sort of Monster coaster & the cars ride.

Not happy with thot of Muppets departing, wish they’d go into animation courtyard instead.

That sounds delicious. I’m using up a zucchini, stuffing it with hot sausage mix & a burger for the mr

The garden is exploding lol

Hope you had a great evening celebrating your DS!

How the heck does the battery even charge, let alone hold one? We’ve been lucky to get 4 years before our batteries deteriorate like clockwork

Doing better? Just saw on tube, lots of states (mine included) high with covid based upon wastewater samples

I try, could do better but numbers are great so not complaining. If i have a cheat day, I double down being good the next.

Meds I’m on have me feeling full, somewhat nauseous, have been skipping meals. Which is causing sugar to drop. Especially, if hot and sweating (in the orlando parks) or not hydrated & electrolytes drops

It’s a real balancing act

Of course, said the 🐎 They know better than to bite the hand that feeds them lol. JK

Pretty sure it takes me longer to be them than a bathing suit. I usually cheat on swimwear. If i find one I like that fits well, immediately order another in a different pattern/color

Knew it lol!

I need to do better. I’m one who eats less when it’s hot in general, just not hungry. Same with the Mr in Orlando

Oh, I do hate blisters. Do u use the doughnut sort of padding?

Woohoo

View attachment 886630

Oh no, good luck. I avoid connections like the plague. Unfortunately, have them for DL trip. I allowed at least 1.5 hours in between. Connecting thru PHX (DS tells me it’s a big one, but doable?) out & DEN back (nice airport). I detest ATL with a passion

Ever since the drone show, it’s been slammed; including buses back to the resorts.

That was very nice of you!

Yes, some thoughtful gifts this year. Thot i was done with Vera Bradley but, received a very cute Toy Story themed larger bag with match ear bud case I’m going to use when doing shorter laps in park

I always want to poke them, as I had most of my life. My podiatrist almost fell over when I said that, saying it’s a terrible idea. Um?

Oh they are cute. I picked a set of 4 last halloween from disney park, silly symphony. Have yet to use them. More of a dessert plate, heavy

View attachment 886634

Your’s look so nice. Mine were dubbed “tortured” as in Taylor’s tortured poets society.

Good luck

I didn’t know animals suffered that too

Thanks Ruth

you are a welcome contributor, such a positive person…balances out those of us that aren’t lol

Oh, I hear you! Couldn’t find any deals @ Retailers this go-round for the 15 pro. Didn’t like the trade in that ATT offered. Took ourselves to Apple Store, even tho an hour away, and wound up getting hundred of $ more in trade for phones that wouldn’t hold a charge for more than a couple of hours

No idea how you manage to keep multiple projects going at the same time.

I may order the pattern for Sam from Tric or Treat. Tried that small gauge sort of thing before, a pig, and it just didn’t come out right. Although GD loved it just the same.

Not a lot of piecing on it, IDK tho lol
View attachment 886643

Oh I missed the event had been postponed, yes, glad you hadn`t started making everything yet, take it easy and I`m sure they`ll appreciate it all the more when it does happen, sounds a lovely event.

Happy new pooch haircut, glad he is so patient!

I don`t use those doughnut things, I do still have some of the thicker molefoam from America, but where the heck it is a mystery right now, I`ll find it later, although as we have no plans next few days, it`ll be the fancy crocs on the old feet all weekend! Happy Feet they ain`t lol....

I agree, Ruth is a very welcome poster!!

:rotfl: I had a huge out loud belly laugh at that! He's a nice enough guy, very charismatic. But definitely full of himself.

WE didn't either - until we took him to the vet. Sometimes he was great - other times it was like he didn't even know his name. I remember one time, we were going to visit dd. We had been there NUMEROUS times before, We all hoped out of the truck, and started heading to the house....he didn't know where he was. He went running to a house down the street - and wouldn't come back when we called him. Near the end - he would just sit in his spot and stare. He was having multiple accidents in the house daily, not sleeping at night. If he was sleeping and we would go to wake him (like at night before heading to bed for the night) I would wake him - but put my hand out for him to sniff it or else he would get angry and bite you - as he wouldn't remember it was me waking him up to go outside. That was when we decided it was his time. He was 15 years old - in perfect health except for that

He was such a great dog. Great with the kids, loved being at the lake lot and LOVED being in the boat fishing with us. I still miss him, and it's been 4 years now since he crossed the rainbow bridge.

That sounds so rough Pumpkin, another who didn`t know dogs could get that either. Seems so cruel he was in good health otherwise.

Thanks. I’m almost back to normal.

I do like Amatista for breakfast, it is such a beautiful, bright and airy restaurant too, we`re not big breakfast folks either, but I do love smoked salmon being on offer, that makes it worth it for us.

I did laugh at you being directionally challenged, once I`ve been somewhere once, I`m fine and Tom is the same, always fun when we go somewhere new though!!!! Have a lovely trip Sue.

Spent all of Friday after our walk with friends for the day, enjoyed a nice lunch and a movie afternoon, it was very nice, poor gal had a setback with her almost healed foot/leg issue. I knew that 10 mile walk was too much for her, but, she had to do it!!! We watched Fatal Attraction and Malice, the men were glad we didn`t choose a chick flick lol.....although Tom will happily watch anything with me on an evening, he doesn`t mind a chick movie.

We made some snacks early evening with them before coming home, one of those lovely unplanned days.

Early night so up with the birds this morning, going to be a lovely day, not too bad at 70f or just above, always feels hotter in the garden surrounded by trees so might get some sitting out today.

We`re being called party poopers as we have no plans this weekend, sometimes it`s just nice to do nothing although some housework is on the cards this morning, our gardener is coming to do the lawns this morning so out of bounds till he has gone, then lazy afternoon.

Doing spicy chicken stir fry tonight for me, Tom is having a large French Dip sandwich.....apparently it`s what he fancies!!! Means I can have loads of fresh ginger in my stir fry, Chinese noodles too for me, but not many as the chicken breasts are huge, will add, pineapple, green onion, red pepper, scotch bonnet chillies, mushrooms and I`m going to make up a szechuan style chilli and garlic sauce, sweet and spicy!!

But, French Toast I think this morning for me, and tea, more tea for sure, best way for me to start the day!!!

Lounge lizards are the coolest!!!

Yes, we never think, are we getting value for money with the buffet breakfasts, we just enjoy a little of this and that and enjoy the experience, it’s never about the money.

Now I’m singing that song that gets stuck in one’s head!!!

I had some prime rib in a jus, so ideal for what he wanted, made him chunky chips to go with it, not the healthiest, but, ideal for a Saturday night treat!

I had a not so healthy stir fry, calorie laden sauce, but very nice and spicy!

Opened a special bottle of white wine afterwards and watched a Netflix movie, The Union with Mark Walhberg and Halle Berry, decent enough movie.

Think we need to get Disney+ back, I like the sound of the Only Murders in the Building, sounds like my kind of show!

Tom is having a rum from a bottle Fernando from Strong Water gave us when we were leaving last trip, boy is it strong! I’ll finish the wine :)

About to watch an old Universal horror classic now, can’t beat em!

Normally I don’t do breakfast buffet as I feel I can’t eat $30 worth of food, and so pretty expensive for bacon & eggs! But we enjoyed it.
I think we did a breakfast buffet once at Disney. It was a character breakfast when B was 7. I usually don’t eat much for breakfast.
Glad to hear your trip is off to a good start.

I hate shoe shopping
Same here.

I’ve been searching, but haven’t found anything that really speaks to me yet. I did get B a birthday shirt though. I usually buy a new Scooby Doo shirt each time I go to Universal.

Planning on being a bit of a lounge lizard today
Sounds like a great plan.

My exciting day consisted of cleaning the main bathroom. I thought it could use a deep cleaning. I also needed to make a Target run. I got about halfway there and realized that this is the weekend that students move in. What was I thinking? Target was a nightmare.

Dh said he had a good opening night. The character he is playing is Bob Ewell. He says he is one of the most loathsome characters in literature. Last night 2 kids said that they were going to have nightmares about him, so he is happy about his portrayal of the character.

Been a busy day for me but I am here now.

My youngest son and his wife will be at our house hopefully around 11 tonight and stay with us a few days.

My eldest son and his wife came few weeks back with their new son and son 2 and his wife is coming tonight with their first baby..

This one is a girl.
Baby is two weeks old today.

We are so excited!
It has taken me years to become a grandma…

Sounds like your DH is doing a wonderful job in his portrayal of Bob, I`d agree he is indeed a loathesome creature. Hope he enjoys his run doing the show, how long is it on for?

I love Scooby doo!! Hope you find some nice shirts for your trip and yes, I`d rather do almost anything else than shoe shop!!

Have a lovely time with them all mac!! Nothing quite like a new baby coming to visit you and nice to be able to spoil them for a few days.

We sat up so late last night watching movies, so a late sleep this morning was nice, almost 9am and it is a gorgeous day so far, little breezy so might get our bedding all done again as it`s perfect for drying.

Friends enjoyed Taylor Swift, both nights were excellent they said, glad to hear it.

Today, no plans, will call one of my brothers and mum as usual, catch up with some friends too, but another lazy one I think. Might start our Potter marathon movie watch this afternoon.

Avocado & poached egg on toast soon, shrimp salad for lunch and pork fillet in a honey mustard sauce for dinner, but I do need some more tea right now, late nights don`t suit me so much anymore!!!!

It's awesome. I usually just sign up for Hulu for 2 months to watch it, then drop as I don't watch many of the streaming apps we already have.

Was thinking of just adding Hulu & MAX (dropping HBP/Max on my direct tv service).

Turns out if u have an annual subscription for D+ in place, u have to wait until it expires.

I need to call, has to be a way to just prorate adding new services to existing contract.

Hoops to left of me, hoops to the right

Mac u went from none to a handful quickly lol. Enjoy those grand babies. Trying to keep up keeps you young (at heart) lol

Anyone remember a poster in the sans named Froggy?
I have always wondered where he is and if he ever came back to the Dis with a new name

He was active in the something about nothing thread when it began

Believe it was an active thread about at least 20 or 30 years ago.

he was a nice dude but he disappeared some years ago when the disboards became very active.

there are times I think about some of the posters that were quite active who eventually faded away from the boards.

You all wait to the time when you become just a dot in a thread and wonder who were the early posters that were a big part of the little family group we once had.

I do fondly think of the homies here that were once in our online family that we created.
