Something About Nothing............ #14

We finally got to sit down tonight and make some loose plans for park days.

The boys have decided 3 Universal days - including one HHN night and 3 Disney days - with park hoppers so that if they want to circle back to anything we can! Disney booking day is Thursday - so I need to have all my ducks in a row. Tomorrow night is park pass buying day - for both parks.

Now to decide if we want to stay a couple days at one of the premier resorts - to get express pass for at least a couple of days - then head to an off-site hotel for the rest of the stay.

Also - we can't forget to upgrade our (dh and I ) flight seats to business class. We got a few vouchers for upgrading our seats when we purchased the trip for everyone to Mexico.

59 days until we take off!!!

I'll leave a nightlight on for anyone who might be up wandering. Have a great sleep everyone.

Oh I like an upgrade Pumpkin!!!! Nice.

I would recommend a couple of nights at a Premier for sure, even quiet times are busy now.

I’m up early today so I have some time to post. Nothing much going on here. I went shopping for gym clothes yesterday. I tried Sam’s Club first. A great selection for people who are size extra small to medium. I ended up at Walmart. I found some capri pants, but since I am short they come to my ankles. Now I just have to get myself back into the gym. B is working afternoons the next several days, so I won’t have a gym buddy.

Glad to hear you are safe. We are going to be getting sone of the rain from the storm for the next couple of days.

Glad it was fixed soon. It is way too hot to be without a/c.

It sure is. I hope to visit someday.

This sounds like how my neighborhood would react. We even have a chat group to communicate quickly. Hope the young man will be okay.

That bridge makes me nervous just looking at it. I hate driving over bridges.

Nice to meet you.

Ugh! I hate mosquito bites. When B gets them they turn into little knots. Hope you can get some relief.

I love bagpipes. Don’t get to hear them too often though.

I love park planning. Hope you are able to get all the reservations you want.

I am usually just waking up now. Time to start the day. I’m anticipating another slow work day. Wednesdays are usually the slowest.

Scotland is stunning, nowhere quite like it on earth.

I think the older I`m getting the more I am beginning to appreciate the bagpipes more.

Hey all. So soggy here Our drought is gone tho!

Pumpkin thanks for that. I've had a couple of concussions over the years. Do use electrolyte supplementally when in Orlando & heavy exercise. Will try that next time I get a whopper

I almost always need 1 to 2 sizes up in leggings. Combo of size and I hate feeling like a sausage

Try Ross dress for less next time. Here they have both no name & brands (addidas, Nike, athleta). Hit or miss what's in stock at any time. I've had good luck with a cheaper brand RBK. Holds up & doesn't stretch out.

I don`t think I`ve ever been in a Ross place before, if I have, I forget.

You will probably be fine grabbing a last minute reservation if you wish. I have been checking the app periodically and there are always several same day reservations available. Some are even the harder to get ones.

I would have welcomed a busy day today. I had almost nothing to do. Don’t want to complain too much though.

What I bought aren’t exactly leggings. More like soft pants. They aren’t form fitting like most leggings.
I never think about Ross when I am shopping. My city has one, but I don’t think I’ve ever shopped there.

My new gym bag arrived today. It’s a little larger than I need, but I think it suits me well.

Nice bag! Hope your day went better than you thought it would.

We had such a lovely visit, sad to come home as always. Living far away from family is not fun, so it`s always lovely to spend time with them up there. Mum looked amazing which was so good to see, so was everyone actually. My niece who had surgery also looks incredible and is improving massively. And friends as always, amazing to see them, well as many as we could in a short visit.

Weather was dreadful, then it picked up then it was dreadful again, so much rain and quite a storm, I don`t mind it at night battering against the windows, I do find that incredibly relaxing. But, we enjoyed some lovely food, wine and company and even the drive home ended up being quite the adventure with weather.

We had a gorgeous seaview room which was massive, bigger than the one we had in March, we`d book that specific room again, but the view despite the weather is always appreciated.

But, it`s a beautiful morning here, no plans to walk just yet, so will head out shopping this morning, washing was done last night and I popped it on the line this morning, they`ll dry in no time, sunny and breezy!

Brought back some local bacon from up there, so that was breakfast this morning, and Scottish salmon and hand dived scallops for dinner tonight, all brought home in the chill box, can`t wait for those.

Happy Thursday :sunny:

I’m glad to hear the party went well, and every party needs a little thing that isn’t perfect, when we had Tom’s big party we ended up with no cake….lol….we made the best of it!

Thanks Robbie, we’ve had a lovely trip!
So good to hear your trip to Scotland was so nice and you had a nice time visiting family and friends.

Haven’t heard any updates on his condition. Just hope he is ok and bounces back soon.

Beautiful pictures of the grounds of your hotel and the sea and sky.

The sun is shining this morning. It is going to be a little cooler in the low 80’s today. I will take that.

Going out to do a little gardening today.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

Stopping in for a quick morning stop in :wave2:

I had a quiet night last night. I picked up my grocery order on my way home from work, stopped at the farmers market to pick up a few fresh items then came home to partially thawed chicken :rolleyes2. Plan b for dinner - chicken with gnocchi and caesar salad. Baked some nanner bread and got a walk in - which was great.

Cool morning again - dew on my windshield again. At least the days are nice and warm and the house is cool enough to sleep.

I'm thinking I wouldn't mind going to the movie theatre this weekend. See the " Twisters" movie. I highly doubt it will be as good as the original - but I still would like to see it. We also want to see Deadpool. Maybe next weekend for that one. WE will be hitting the lake this weekend for some fishing!!!! I told dh no more travelling this month - only to the lake for fishing on weekends.

My new gym bag arrived today. It’s a little larger than I need, but I think it suits me well.
I love that!!!!!! A sloth is definitely my spirit animal!!!! I'm getting slower as I get older lol. and would much rather just sit around than get up and be busy and make sure I get walks in for exercise and mental health lol

It is hard to live far away from family. We have gotten to the point of - when we travel back to where family is we will let everyone know. We will say "we are at where for these days. If you want to visit, come on down and let us know when your planning to come." We don't make any special trips to see others anymore. If it's important for people to see us - they can drive to come visit us. I'm done trying to see people who can't drive 20 -30 minutes to see us when we have driven for 11- 13 hrs to get to our family's homes.

Going out to do a little gardening today.
Enjoy!!!! I spent a few minutes last night watering and checking plants last night. My tomatoes are taking off fast now - I should have some peas to eat in another couple of days. My beans, cucumbers will be a bit yet. I could start using some of my potatoes now - but I'm going to leave them at least until after the long weekend in Sept. Then I'll harvest them - and keep them in the basement. I should have enough to last me until at least xmas - depending on how good they produce this year.

Well, I started this at 8:30 before things started hitting my desk - and it's currently 1115 - and I still have a few things to do yet. Off to shuffle some appointments and book some new appt for pt's to start treatment.

Have a great day everyone!

That`s what we do most of the time, we arrange for folks to come and see us, we had friends join us at our hotel on Tuesday night for dinner. Friends and relatives usually come to mum`s during the day when we`re there or we meet for meals. They all think the same way, we`ve done all the travelling so they come to us.

We do go visit folks on occasion too, just depends on timing and circumstance.

Veg is coming along nicely, how lovely it`ll last for such a long time.

Tornado watch and flash flood warning in effect for my area.

Hope it passes without any damage to your property, flash flooding is terrifying.

Scallops as an appetiser and salmon, both from Scotland, were beautiful. Seared the scallops very briefly in lemon butter, softened garlic & shallots and served it with samphire, then salmon lightly roasted and served with couscous and salad. Lovely meal.

It is getting so dark in the evenings already, 8.30 and lamps are on already and feeling cooler than it has been so far.

Watching Sherlock again with Benedict Cumberbatch, not too bad considering it`s modern.

About to have a cuppa, another couple of episodes and then bed, not sure what plans we have tomorrow, I know Saturday we`re going to watch Kyle run somewhere, it`s always lovely to see him and his group cross the finish line. We missed watching him run a 10K on Sunday so this will be nice.

Another Thursday out of the way!!!

I am home now. Safe and dry. I had to stop at the grocery on the way home. We have no food in the house or even ingredients to make food. It wasn’t raining too hard when I left work, but when I got out of the store it was pouring. I was drenched when I got home.
It is supposed to rain through tomorrow. I don’t think I will be going outside unless it is absolutely necessary.

I hope it peters out and doesn't do much damage.

Nothing wrong with a day in now and again, especially when the weather is so dreadful, we quite like a day in like that.

Friday again, decided not to go out today, it is very windy but warm, so looking out the windows it`s very grey and cloudy, but not in the least bit cold.

Doing a chicken dish tonight, almost like fajitas but spicy carolina bbq flavour, it`s hot, sent from America, I`ll cook it with peppers, onions and mushrooms then add cream cheese and it turns into a very creamy but very spicy dish, most serve it with pasta it seems but we`re doing some parmentier potatoes or maybe just in wraps with salad, sour cream, guacamole and coleslaw.

Smoked salmon for lunch, just with lemon wedges and a little salad.

Just finished my second pot of tea this morning, used the small pots though, now going to do some housework, all the back windows before the sun comes around in an hour, once it hits the back we have it all day till sunset which is lovely, but not for doing windows.

But, hope you have a lovely Friday....it`s the weekend!!!!

Tornado Watch, Wind Advisory and Flood Watch all issued for today. Hello storms. Glad you are the last day we say such for almost another week. And any wet around by tomorrow morning, wall to wall sunshine predicted for Saturday. Dry by the mid morning. And a nice weather weekend in store. Ooh phone just flashed scattered thunderstorms in the area. Time to wear that rain jacket another day.

We out last night to walk in that huge mall. The amount of rain on the highways, saw flashers on many vehicles. Yeah, that amount of rain falling, even with the fastest windshield wipers, was making it not so easy to see, so no reason to speed. And easy for a slide with the amount of water that was on the road when we were traveling.

Up early, but not to need to be, movie time for lunch. Older one took off the long weekend, as kids are going to a concert this weekend, so we all can go movie viewing today. Yay!

Fabulous Friday to everyone.

I was expecting rain all day, but the rain has stopped and the sun is out. I’m still staying in all day because I need to do some house cleaning and laundry. I may need a nap first. Stupid me forgot to turn off my alarm last night, so it went off at 7:30 this morning.

Lynne - you are getting the weather we had yesterday. Hopefully it will pass through quickly.

Happy Friday everyone!

It's Friday :cheer2: Thank goodness...I really didn't want to get my butt out of bed this morning. I was in a nice deep sleep when the alarm went off. Tomorrow I can (and will) sleep in!

Very quiet night last night. I finally hit Costco for a bigger shop. I needed a few items from there. Dh is fighting a cold - so he ate dinner and went to bed. I went for a walk - then vegged in my chair with the laptop.

The forecast is looking for the weekend - nice and warm 28-30 C / 82 -85F. I think Sunday will be fishing. Tomorrow is tidying and putzing in the house.

Well, off to shuffle papers and get some tasks taken off my to-do list.

Have a great day everyone.

Glad the sun is shining for you! A day at home is always nice, even if it doing household stuff.

Sounds a lovely weekend Pumpkin, fishing always sounds so relaxing.

We did have a nice day, pottering around the house doing little jobs here and there, well doing all the insides of the windows to the back of the house is a lot of work, but worth it to see them gleaming again, window cleaner was here too so both sides are shiny.

Nothing left to do now for a couple of days.

Change of plan for dinner, I didn`t have any cream cheese, so, as we fancied a day in without going to any shops, even the village ones, I made up a sweet and sour sauce albeit a very spicy one and we had stir fry with chinese noodles, it was hot and slight bbq flavour with the seasoning. It worked nicely though.

Lemon posset for dessert, cup of tea and a tv watching evening I think, more Sherlock for us.

Very relaxing evening for us for sure and a nice weekend ahead!

Those pictures of Scotland are STUNNING!!!! I scrolled by them again, and had to stop and admire them.

All caught up at work for the most part, now to find things to do to fill up my day - maybe a few Youtube videos. Trying to find ones to send to ds - so that they have an idea of what they want to all try to take in. Dh's eye are already bulging when we talk about what they all want to do. When dh and I went - we only went for one day - and only hit a few rides. I remember Diagon Alley was sooooo busy dh asked to get out of there as it was too crowded for him. We didn't even get to see the dragon breathe fire. He was shocked when I told him that lol :rolleyes2 so needless to say - he now knows that I've planned for 3 days + at Universal.

I made this bad boy for myself yesterday, the ‘lil and I dove into it this am. Naturally, topped with a dollop of reddi whip. She declared it better than the original @ Cheesecake Factory.

Made a boring sheet cake for those who don’t appreciate the above lol.

Going out for the third meal of the week:banana: Thus far enjoyed Italian and steak. need to ask my stomach what it would enjoy today. Will have my DS all over for dinner tomorrow.

I think the older I`m getting the more I am beginning to appreciate the bagpipes more.
same. There is rarely a dry eye when one makes an appearance at funeral
I don`t think I`ve ever been in a Ross place before, if I have, I forget.
That’s the main reason I leave the house on Tuesdays, for the ahem senior discount
25 minutes later.....
Blink and you’d miss it! Wow
Cool morning again - dew on my windshield again.
My brain initially read that as cool Mountain Dew. Do the dew! Lol
Tornado Watch, Wind Advisory and Flood Watch all issued for today. Hello storms.

Yikes, we just got heavy rain bands that kept rotating the last few days. Never was so happy to see the sun break thru the clouds a few hours ago!

Have a great weekend all, whatever you do.

Thanks Pumpkin, I posted a couple more in the TR.

Hopefully this time you’ll get to see everything, and DH will love seeing that dragon!

Looks good Keisha!

Nice to enjoy those meals out too and everyone over tomorrow will be lovely, prolong those celebrations for as long!

Weirdly, they are rarely seen at funerals here, weddings, absolutely!

Enjoy that meal tonight and have a great weekend too.

Heading to bed soon, spent all evening chatting on phone to two friends, well, listened really in the case of one of them, when she takes a grievance against someone she doesn’t let go…..lol….hope she got it all out of her system.

But, up and out early in the morning to go watch Kyle run, and weather looks really nice over the weekend, might bbq instead of takeout tomorrow night.

Gotta love the weekend!!

I just had a “I am so old” moment. B and I went to get ice cream. The song Dancing Queen was playing in the restaurant. I commented that I remember when it came out. The (young) cashier said that she remembered watching the movie (Mama Mia). I said “No, not the movie. This song. It came out in the 70’s.”

I remember it well, autumn 1976, I was 9, my favourite Abba song and even to this day, anybody plays that song and everyone gets up dancing, it`s a classic. But I feel your pain lol.....

Hope the ice cream was worth the visit!

Well, it is raining very light right now, it`s supposed to be warm and sunny, so hoping it`s just a passing glitch and we get to where the run is and it`s dry. And it`s brightening up as I type.

Had a quick breakfast of toast and preserves, the farm handed us in some lemon curd yesterday, that lady makes the best lemon curd ever! Then we`ll head off after I have another cuppa tea.

Smoked salmon for lunch, last of the stuff we brought back from Scotland, dinner is going to be something grilled outside, I need to get some courgettes to go on the veg skewers and a small cabbage to shred for coleslaw, I have everything else. Then a movie night, might do Bad Boys 2 and a nice bottle of red wine.

Happy Saturday :sunny::sunny::sunny:

Chicken breasts brining. Need to make some sort of marinated tomato/veg salad. Tomatoes out our ears from the garden. Cucumbers almost played out boohoo. Forgot one of my sons is on a keto diet, at least that’s one less baked potato i need to make

Cooler here, nice as baking those breasts won’t heat up the house. First load of laundry in here too, whites, easy peasy.

Disney planners will appreciate this, just fell asleep last night and text message came in on phone at 2 am. Of course, always makes your heart go bump that time of night. Was an alert from Yelp that a reservation time was available for our hotel’s rooftop restuarant in DL. Not only did i snag it but, got my carcass up to go find a CC to guarantee it.
