Change of plans.

My old desk at homecare called to see if I would pick it up. I said no - even at OT because the weather is supposed to be spectacular! He called me at the end of day yesterday - just as I was getting ready to head home....and offered it at double time. He really needed it covered - sooooo I picked it up at double time! That will help to pay some extras in Orlando. And...this will probably be the last time I'm working this desk - unless they train me when they go live with a new operating system ( the same one I am currently using at the hospital) Homecare is the last department to join the provincial operating system.

All the work is basically done here today - so I'm just a body to put out fires and answer the phone. I did work for my money this morning though. Came in with one person cancelling their shift - and of course its one of the worst caseloads to try to move clients into other healthcare aids caselaods/schedules. But I've put out that fire...and cross my fingers that's all the fires I have.

Now it will be trip researching - trying to learn the new lightening lane at Disney. I would also like to be that dorky family where we wear matching shirts for at least ONE park day! I also want to find some Disney/HP fabric to make a couple of draw string bags for one person to wear into the parks. I refuse to be the only pack mule wearing my little backpack with all their other cr@p stuffed in it! Nope...not happening.

Another mostly sunny day after all that rain. Unfortunately I need to stay in and do laundry. Nothing else planned for the weekend.

Quattro leches again as someone wants it for thier birthday.
Tonight is group text night for dinner. I sent it out with requests from folks with recent birthdays and it gets fwd on. We've had 6 to 60 show up. Size of the crowd can determine the restaurant too if we have a lot of replies.
We've gotten anything from a no to please come again when we call.

I’ve always had good luck with Etsy for our shirts. I agree about not wanting to be the pack mule. I bought a bag at Busch Gardens when B and dh dumped their stuff on me and went on a ride. He has to carry it.

Same here. I did B’s laundry until she was about 10. Now each does their own. Dh doesn’t understand why it takes his clothes longer to dry than mine. I keep telling him not to cram the dryer so full that the clothes can’t circulate, but be doesn’t listen.

Behind again It’s been a super busy month July. Now laying out and washing clothing for trip. We leave Thursday. I took out my roller carry on suitcase and realized I forgot to unpack from Feb Mardi Gras trip! Sheesh.

1 week at Sapphire and 1 week Portofino CL. Requested Theme park view at Sapphire. Booked Lagoon view. I think that’s House 2. Love that resort but I always at least once each stay take the wrong elevator. So confusing.
I’m hoping to get a Harbour view at Portofino. Following a blogger who frequently posts updates on construction there. Looks like a lot of the Piazza walls are down. But west wing still has scaffolding.

@Pumpkin1172 I’m not a pack mule! Since my daughters were old enough I got them small backpacks to carry their own stuff! Everyone does their own laundry here too! I was working so taught the girls how to do it. At first there was some shrinking and colour runs but they finally got it!

Today have some errands then friends grandsons birthday. After going to brother in laws for dinner. Going to be a full day.
Better get going. Hair needs a good wash!

@schumigirl i may be one of the few that loves the bagpipes lol! We used to have a guy in my neighbourhood who would walk thru playing. I also would hear him walking thru the Inlet park too. Haven’t heard him in a couple of years and wonder what happened to him.

Happy Saturday. Another mostly sunny day after all that rain. Unfortunately I need to stay in and do laundry. Nothing else planned for the weekend.

I love weekends like that, but when the weather is bad, always feels so cosy.

Chicken breasts brining. Need to make some sort of marinated tomato/veg salad. Tomatoes out our ears from the garden. Cucumbers almost played out boohoo. Forgot one of my sons is on a keto diet, at least that’s one less baked potato i need to make

Cooler here, nice as baking those breasts won’t heat up the house. First load of laundry in here too, whites, easy peasy.

Disney planners will appreciate this, just fell asleep last night and text message came in on phone at 2 am. Of course, always makes your heart go bump that time of night. Was an alert from Yelp that a reservation time was available for our hotel’s rooftop restuarant in DL. Not only did i snag it but, got my carcass up to go find a CC to guarantee it.

lol....that`s a txt you don`t mind getting in the middle of the night!!! Yep, there are times when we have to drag oneself out of bed for a good cause in the middle of the night.

I might pick your brain on the keto, not sure with my medical issues it would be suitable, but I`ll have a mooch on it and see what it`s like.

Sounds like easy money Pumpkin, especially if you don`t have much to do now.

Salmon was lovely thanks, hard to beat!!

I was the opposite with laundry, even though Kyle was taught how to use the machine when he was very young, and Tom of course knows how they work, I did/do all the laundry.

I am at home, so had all the time in the world, and didn`t make sense to have the machine on 3 times the amount it would be if we each did our own laundry. God job I quite enjoy doing laundry too!! No one ever complained though!! lol....

We watch the Potter movies several times a year, and yes always before a trip. I find the later ones not as much fun, they`re a little darker but JK Rowling is an absolute genius and I`m reminded of that every time we watch them.

They were everywhere when I was young and I do find them quite emotional, they`re nice at weddings though but I am getting to appreciate them more as I get older. I had two cousins who played in the local band growing up and at family parties they were always dragged out to play to us all. They weren`t very good for the longest time.






It has been a lovely day, enjoyed watching Kyle run this morning, did his best time for that length of run for quite a while, and he wasn`t feeling 100%, weather turned lovely which was nice. He`s off work all next week using up vacation time, so I`m sure we`ll see him at some point although he seems to be busy with friends most days.

It got hot today, but too breezy to sit out, however all windows and our kitchen bifold doors have been open all day, still beautiful now and sitting out as the breeze has gone.

Enjoyed ribs, veg kebabs, salad and coleslaw for dinner, I think we`re full. I made a slightly different bbq sauce, it was a little too sweet for Tom, but I liked it more than the one I usually make.

Might sit out for a while, so once it cools down we`ll go back inside to watch a movie and have some wine. No plans to go out tomorrow, I "plan" to sleep late with my husband but doubt I will.

My sister has vetoed me doing anything keto! I do like the sound of as much avocado and steak as one can manage, but yes, I`d miss my toast and couscous too much I think.






Gorgeous day!!! Absolutely beautiful, woke up around 5 and it was already bright when I pulled back the drapes and blinds, not popular with my husband, so I closed them quickly and discarded my late sleep idea, went downstairs and opened up the bifolds in the kitchen and it was lovely. Made some tea and read some of my book while sleeping beauty got his late sleep.

Kyle arrived around 6.30 to park his car and some of his friends did the same too, they`re doing a 15 mile run along the shore front run, they like to start here and not worry about parking, so we have five extra cars parked. I always offer them breakfast when they come back, but usually it`s just water they will take, lovely folks.

Don`t think he`s staying afterwards, he has plans, so I think with this sunshine and heat we will get a day sitting in the garden. Salad for lunch and Tom is going to grill some chicken, I have it marinading right now, dinner will be the same chicken with the usual sides and add in a shrimp skewer or two.

Not sure how much longer this weather will last, so we`ll make the most of it.

Another beautiful day here as well!!! I'm kind of sad I'm working it...but the forecast is looking great for the next week into next weekend. The extra $$$ will be nice. Now I won't feel too guilty when I'm picking up extra things for the trip - like matching shirts

I mentioned at dinner last night - that I'm thinking we should have matching shirts for at least one of the parks one day. They all stopped eating - looked at me and rolled their eyes. They know better than to say no - since I'm the one doing all the planning. If momma says you are wearing a shirt - you will be wearing that shirt!

We have 8 Sunday nights left before we go - and guess how many HP movies there are So we are now having dinner and a movie Sunday nights watching all the HP movies!!!! I'm so stinking excited!!!!

I think I found a few ideas for matching shirts. My casual co-worker at the Cancer Centre has a little side business of making t-shirts and other things. I'm going to see if she can do what I want. I also don't want a t-shirt. I would rather have a tank top...so I'm hoping I can find one that will work for her to use.

My boys brought home dinner last night. They had a great day fishing. I asked them if they missed me - and dh says with a smirk that no they didn't and enjoyed their day together. Then older ds says " You only didn't want her along because you know she always catches more fish than any of us!" We are a competitive bunch when we have a fishing rod in our hands

Well, I should get the schedules ready to send out.

Hi everyone! It's Sunday and a nice beautiful day. Not much going on. I am going to try and finish my latest crochet project, a summer top in pale blue for me. I hope to get it done Before summer is over, but we'll see. I always seem to start projects a month before the holiday or when I need it, and never finish them in time!

It sounds like everyone is finally getting some of that good summer weather

haha....it is a little sprawled out for sure, but no, I don`t think you`d get lost, well maybe at first, but that`s ok, everyone seems to get lost there at some point, but it`s not that bad.

Yes!!! Us laundry fans will stick together, I inherited that from my mum I think, that and housework although I don`t enjoy housework as much as laundry, but I do it and some may say I`m a little obsessive, but nah....I don`t think so.

I think my sister was right for sure, no one was impressed with the thoughts, so will dump the whole idea. Wasn`t thrilled with the sound of it myself to be honest.

Oh yes, those Potter movies are incredible, we`ll start them in the next two weeks sometime, one a night for just over a week and we`re done.

Good luck with your crochet project, I do hope you finish it before autumn hits, you have a talent for sure.






Well, didn`t get to sit out in the end, it was just too breezy, but so warm!!! Just kept the doors and windows open, that worked nicely and it`s still warm now and looks to be gorgeous tomorrow too.

Dinner was nice, some chicken left for lunch tomorrow, although it is spicy, sticky and full of flavour so I keep nibbling on it every time I pass the fridge!! Tom will be disappointed when he sees how much is left at lunch!

Will be up early tomorrow to walk as it`s going to be a hot one, goodness knows how long our beautiful weather will last, so we`ll enjoy it while we can.

Quick good evening post. I barely slept last night so was pretty useless today. I had planned on watching the Olympic closing ceremonies this afternoon, but slept through them.

I had the lagoon view a SF. Nice view but I didn’t like being at the back of the resort. The floors are very confusing. If I remember correctly, I had to take an elevator up one floor to get to the lobby and then take a different elevator down to got out to the boats.

Beach clubbing. Thank goodness the mouse doesn’t shut the door to the food until the exact hour it closes. Starved were we.

Delayed over an hour. Ugh. But quick ride, and found a close parking spot. Right to room and ready for bed. Oh so muggy at close to an hour ago when arriving. Looked like it had rained earlier. Leaving Target run until tomorrow morning.

Another hot and sunny day for us ahead, waiting on my mister getting up, he was sound when I got up announcing we would walk as it was gorgeous, I`ve had my breakfast so he`ll grab a quick cuppa and a croissant then we`ll head out.

Still a little breezy but nothing like last night, although it was warm the wind sounded like the dead of winter as we fell asleep. I slept like a rock though.

BBQ food for us again tonight, just need a few fresh items this morning so farm store for us then back to the garden I hope. We are going to be at least 80F today.....time to sit outside with the sunscreen on and a cold drink. Tom isn`t volunteering today, they have plenty today so he`s hopefully not doing it much this week.

Might grab another cuppa with Tom, second pot is more or less full!

Love me some He-Man, especially Skeletor & his henchmen lol

My early am opthamologist appt pushed back to late afternoon today due to an addition to the surgical schedule. Need two tests done I get annually. Between the inevitable delay that happens as the day goes on dr office phenom and the length of those tests & dilation in between, will be lucky if I get home by 6 pm. Ugh

I loved, loved this cake!

I had a couple different “friend” group buds send me that, figure it must’ve hit recently

For me the whole large quantities of meat & fats is scary for most with any sort of cholesterol or heart concerns.

But quick ride, and found a close parking spot

Lucky, BC & BW lots are always over taxed. Not a question of guests’ needs. IMO it’s those who book dining then, dash over to the nearby parks. Wish they’d come up with some sort of system. It sucks to come back to resorts in the evening before park close and need to valet.

Agree, Keisha. Though we did our Target run, and still found a not too far away spot. Some HS fun, before pool time, then B&C dinner, then MK fun, with then Epcot to end with extra hours. Full day of fun. Including kid meals for both of us at Backlot, as did filled up that soda cup more than a few times, and have cookies to bring back to the room. So darn hot, but loving that.

Well, I was the preverbial lizard today and happy to be one.

We got well into the 80`s with the slightest of breezes but the humidity was off the scale for us, so after some cloud and even some rain this morning, we got into the sun loungers mid afternoon and just lazed like the lizards we are with some cold drinks, Tom snoozed and I read my book. We had butterflies, birds and I said if one of the deer appeared I`d feel as though I were in a Disney movie.....I promised not to sing!!!

Grilled two steaks tonight, I had the filet and Tom a T bone, just had some salad and some focaccia I bought this morning. Mango and pineapple sorbet for dessert, too warm for anything else.

Still sitting out sun is low though and good chance of seeing the Aurora tonight, might be asleep though!!

Might move inside soon......maybe.....

Good Tuesday morning....well, almost afternoon now!

Up early and we were out for before 7am, met some friends for the morning and now my tootsies ache. 10 miles, but a slow 10 miles, it was lovely however. Stopped for brunch in one of the restaurants so no need for lunch for us. Eggs Royale with some avocado on the side for me, bacon and egg on a roll for Tom with lots of tea. Nice place, never been in it before but will go back again.

Such a nice day we might head over to a place where they have some lovely gardens we can walk around for an hour or so, or we might just sit in the garden, a little cooler today but still lovely.

Duck legs for dinner tonight, making a blackberry sauce to go with it and some green veg roasted, looking forward to that, haven`t had duck for a while.

But, Tuesday again.....have a good one
