will send you healing mummy dust so that you continue to heal. Good luck to your son
Thank you Pumpkin.

Hope your grandson is excited to start college soon! Such a fun time for them and still sending all good wishes for your son`s upcoming procedure, he`ll be glad to have you with him I`m sure.
Thank you Carole, grandson is looking forward to getting back to school.

I’am glad to be there for our son for his procedure. Praying all goes well and they get everything on the first removal.

First day of August already, and although she doesn`t post anymore I want to wish our mate Vicki...... @tink1957 a very....
Thank you Carole on reminding us of her birthday. She is missed here.

Happy Birthday Vicki

The sea was like glass this morning, barely a ripple anywhere except where the fisherman were coming in, absolutely beautiful. But very humid, I won`t be surprised if we do get a big storm tonight.
Nice picture

Hope the celebration goes well tomorrow, it`ll be lovely to get everyone together to celebrate his birthday. And yes, cookies galore will be lovely, hope you have a lot of fun!!!
It did Carole thank you . We had a wonderful celebration with family and of course I had plenty cookies for everyone,

U.S. military service members (both active duty and veterans), police, firefighters, EMS personnel, nurses, and educators can book a free cruise on Margaritaville at Sea. We enjoyed the Orlando resort well enough. Guess what “hero” & his lovely spouse is going on a free 6 night cruise the end of March?
Sounds like a nice cruise you have coming up. You have taught your hubby the fine art of looking for a good deal for travel.

Had increased frequency of headaches the last few years and the way my eyes take turns going cross-eyed during, thinking it may be time to mention to my family dr when I see him in September. I’ve always just been able to pop a Motrin and they disappear within a half hour. :confused3
Yep, sounds like something to definitely talk to the Doc about. Hope you get some answers.

Did go to Walmart for cat food which has been the highlight of my day.
(hit that store early morning)
I bet the cats appreciated your trip to the store.

We have a two story house and have two ac units.
Main floor we had a new ac unit put in few months back.
Second floor ac unit bit the dust two weeks ago.
Parts were ordered but still have a delay for the supply to arrive.
I hope you get your AC fixed in a time for your guests.

Carole hope you and Tom have a good trip up to Scotland. Enjoy your time with family and friends.

We had a wonderful time for hubby’s birthday party Saturday. It was so special having all the family together to celebrate him.

We had a nice meal and he enjoyed his gifts.

The only hiccup in the day is that when I went to pick up the cake in morning they did not fill it with the strawberry filling I ordered. So she had to remake the cake. I wondered around the store for half hour while she did it. It was a half sheet cake with his high school picture on it. She is did a great job.

Hubby had noticed a number of large broken limbs hanging in the trees in the front yard from the Tornado that came through last week. The grandson’s got the long pole tree trimmers out of the garage and made fast work of getting them down. Then our grandson P’s friend came with his big truck Sunday and hauled all the debris away. We gave the boys a nice amount of cash for the work. Always nice to have a little extra money in pocket and they worked so hard in the heat loading all those limbs.

I had a wonderful day with little J yesterday. We did our stop at the Starbucks in Target before we picked up a few things. He is a great shopping buddy. We did indoor activities as it was just too hot to do anything outside. It was 95 and terribly humid yesterday.

We live in a small neighborhood. So when 3 fire trucks, a paramedic unit and 10 police cars came flying past our house with sirens blaring and lights flashing it was hard not to notice.

The issue was 4 doors down from me. I eventually stepped outside my door and my neighbor next store said people were showing up in cars asking what was going on. One guy said he had seen all the emergency vehicles and followed them to our neighborhood. I didn’t know people did that.

While I was out there talking to our neighbor more cars pulled up and wanted to know what was going on. My neighbor told them to leave the neighborhood and they eventually did.

Everyone pretty much knows everyone in our neighborhood.

My neighbor called and let me know it was the lovely elderly lady that lives 4 doors down from us. She had invited her grandson and his family to stay with her after their house was severely damaged in the Tornado last week. He had covid and became very ill yesterday evening requiring medical care. I have never seen so many Police and Fire truck respond along with the Paramedic Unit before. We are all praying for him and his family.

Sun is shinning this morning. I need to get out to the store and pick up a few things. It is going to be another hot day today. We are supposed to reach 94.

Prayers for all those affected by the wind and flooding caused by Hurricane.

Have a good day everyone.

Hey all, been a busy bee here. Jr has tons of vacation time, took another week off to porchville. He’s grabbing me after an endontist consult and I’m getting treated to lunch. Love Mom & Son days, especially when it’s freeeeee :)

Hubby figured out about his surprise party when he looked in the freezer and saw the sherbet I use for punch when we have celebrations. He is looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.
Lol that is funny
Usually we like a drive up to Loch Lomond which isn’t far from mum and the hotel, but weather looks drizzly, so might not bother, shame as we love it up there.
Guess what ditty I’m humming now? :). Enjoy the time with the folks, it’s beautiful there. Sky looks so clear & clean

Thinking that’s the way jr needs to go, his upstairs has always been a bit warm.

It looks cute, not fancy with all the bells & whistles like the last few RCCL monster ships ones. Has been stripped to the walls and given that Margaritaville decor, it will be fun.

Haven’t gotten to sail under the skyway bridge in TPA in years. Pretty cool to experience as only the smaller ships can “just” fit under the bridge deck.

Mr says I’ve been grinding my teeth at night more than usual. Thinking that may be the problem, time to try my new mouth guard

Rarely, do i garden other than flowers. Just not my thing. Do enjoy trimming bushes for some reason. a couple of years ago bought him an 80 volt 10 inch Kobalt pole saw. It’s “fun” to use, cuts like butter on branches up to 8 inches or so.

:wave2: quick stop in!

Had a busy long weekend. We went to go visit dh's brother and his family - picked up our dd and gd along the way. They have a beautiful lake property in Northern Saskatchewan. Had a great time - even though the visit was short and sweet. Next summer we will try to get there for a couple extra days. We had great weather so lots of boating, paddle boards and sitting on the many different beaches playing with gd in the water.

The weather was beautiful - but my ankles are FULL of mosquito bites :crazy2: I've been popping allergy meds to keep me from itching so much. I didn't put spray on my ankles the one evening - and now I'm paying for it.

I started to try to catch up on reading this morning - but it's been a BUSY day in the unit. I finally had a little time to post. Hopefully it won't be like this all week

Not sure what's on the menu for dinner tonight. Either breakfast for supper - or I'll hit Costco and pick up a few things as well as a ready made meal to reheat.

I'm going to catch up on the posts I missed

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Yes it does look beautiful!

It really is mac, the West of Scotland is stunning!

Prayers for your neighbours grandson.

I’m glad to hear the party went well, and every party needs a little thing that isn’t perfect, when we had Tom’s big party we ended up with no cake….lol….we made the best of it!

Thanks Robbie, we’ve had a lovely trip!

You tak the high road an I’ll tak the low road……yep, emotional song! I love to visit where we are from, makes us feel something special for sure. Today has been mixed for sure, we’ve had every season in one day.

It’s lovely to have some special time with your son, precious indeed!

Love the picture, that is impressive! I’ve never seen that before.

Yep, we’re not gardeners either, ours is worth his weight in gold, if he ever quits, we’ll be stuck! It’s nice to potter around a little though.

Sounds like a lovely visit Pumpkin, yes longer visits are alway nicer. Ouch to mosquito bites. Scotland has midgies….if they like you, you’ll know all about it.

Hope the rest of your week is quieter……:)

Just had dinner with four old friends who still live here, it was an evening of laughter and good food and wine, lots of wine.

The weather here has been all over the place, torrential rain and high winds, then this morning it was lovely, then wind picked back up and right now we have what looks like, a tropical storm. Winds are crazy and rain is bouncing against our hotel bedroom windows. Glad to be in, our friends don’t have far to drive home.

Last night we had to do the longer route to the pub/restaurant we were going to, the usual road had flooded and part of it had subsided a little, bad storm.

Heading home tomorrow, early breakfast then we’ll set off for the drive home, such a lovely visit seeing family and good friends too.

Can’t be beaten.

But we will be falling asleep to the sounds of a storm tonight….perfect for me, love it as we’re all cosy tucked up here.

Toss in a bagpiper and most here (whom have never stepped foot in Scotland) are happily blubbering into their cups. Convinced it's something in the blood/salavate like Pavlov's dogs :scratchin

I’m not the biggest fan of bagpipes, but……play O Flower of Scotland on them and I’m the blubbering mess!

A little like the GB athlete who was crying when she won gold and the emotions of hearing the GB National Anthem got her…..pure emotions, it hits you for sure.

Midgies are a law unto themselves! Nasty little blighters……yes, they love certain types of blood for sure! Lots of garlic seems to keep them away!

We finally got to sit down tonight and make some loose plans for park days.

The boys have decided 3 Universal days - including one HHN night and 3 Disney days - with park hoppers so that if they want to circle back to anything we can! Disney booking day is Thursday - so I need to have all my ducks in a row. Tomorrow night is park pass buying day - for both parks.

Now to decide if we want to stay a couple days at one of the premier resorts - to get express pass for at least a couple of days - then head to an off-site hotel for the rest of the stay.

Also - we can't forget to upgrade our (dh and I ) flight seats to business class. We got a few vouchers for upgrading our seats when we purchased the trip for everyone to Mexico.

59 days until we take off!!!

I'll leave a nightlight on for anyone who might be up wandering. Have a great sleep everyone.

I’m up early today so I have some time to post. Nothing much going on here. I went shopping for gym clothes yesterday. I tried Sam’s Club first. A great selection for people who are size extra small to medium. I ended up at Walmart. I found some capri pants, but since I am short they come to my ankles. Now I just have to get myself back into the gym. B is working afternoons the next several days, so I won’t have a gym buddy.
Worst of Debbie passed West of us.
Glad to hear you are safe. We are going to be getting sone of the rain from the storm for the next couple of days.

Now have no more concerns about house issue with the ac.
Glad it was fixed soon. It is way too hot to be without a/c.

Scotland is so beautiful!
It sure is. I hope to visit someday.

We live in a small neighborhood. So when 3 fire trucks, a paramedic unit and 10 police cars came flying past our house with sirens blaring and lights flashing it was hard not to notice.

This sounds like how my neighborhood would react. We even have a chat group to communicate quickly. Hope the young man will be okay.

Haven’t gotten to sail under the skyway bridge in TPA in years. Pretty cool to experience as only the smaller ships can “just” fit under the bridge deck.
That bridge makes me nervous just looking at it. I hate driving over bridges.

Sup…don’t know if youse will remember me but I’m the poster formerly knows as Scotlass.
Nice to meet you.

The weather was beautiful - but my ankles are FULL of mosquito bites :crazy2: I've been popping allergy meds to keep me from itching so much. I didn't put spray on my ankles the one evening - and now I'm paying for it.
Ugh! I hate mosquito bites. When B gets them they turn into little knots. Hope you can get some relief.

I’m not the biggest fan of bagpipes,
I love bagpipes. Don’t get to hear them too often though.

We finally got to sit down tonight and make some loose plans for park days.
I love park planning. Hope you are able to get all the reservations you want.

I am usually just waking up now. Time to start the day. I’m anticipating another slow work day. Wednesdays are usually the slowest.

Early morning stop in...and it's hump day :cheer2: Thank goodness.

Cool morning - there was dew on my windshield and I turned on the seat and steering wheel warmers  I'm such a wimp - and I told dh there is no going back without those lol. The forecast is for a nice warm day. I hope I can fit in a walk tonight, as well as hopefully a little baking. I have some bananas that need to be used up.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight. Last night was club house sandwiches. Tonight - maybe some grilled chicken - or I'll take out some fish.

Disney Springs has lots of options, including some decent CS places.
That's what I was thinking for at least one night. I don't want to plan too much - incase we are having too much fun to leave and go to a dinner reservation.
Air fryer is a life changer.
Yes they are. I love mine!!!
We might be crazy, but we aren’t booking any ADRs (with the possible exception of Hoop Dee Doo if we can get it) on this trip. We’re just going to wing it.
I don't want to do too many - I don't want to have to leave for dinner when we are wanting to stay and play. But I will have a list of CS places to visit.
Guess what “hero” & his lovely spouse is going on a free 6 night cruise the end of March?
That is awesome!!!!!!
For the migraine suffers here…Can we talk headaches?
The best advice I got was from a friend who was seeing one of the best head trauma specialists in Canada. She was in a horrible car accident years ago and had many injuries - including a major head injury. Her specialist said for her migraines - to take whatever meds your Dr gives you or extra strength Advil and Gatorade. The electrolytes that are in Gatorade help with the inflammation of the blood vessels in the brain. I have followed this and will chug half a bottle of gatorade with my pain meds from my dr - especially if it's the migraine I wake up in the middle of the night. It doesn't take it away completely, but at least I can function and not be stuck in bed not being able to move.

My migraines are triggered mostly by barometer - weather changes. Being in the foothills of the Rockies - we have huge barometer swings.
Buckled up but we're mostly expecting a lot if rain. Models have 5-10 inches possible by Monday night. We have a creek in the back yard but we're 30ish feet above it.
I'm glad you are all safe and sound!
All issues worked out from over night
You gotta love when that happens!!!!
Having a lovely visit, even better now the storm has passed!
I know you are on your way back home already. I hope you had a great visit with everyone there and a safe drive home.
Sun is shinning this morning. I need to get out to the store and pick up a few things. It is going to be another hot day today. We are supposed to reach 94.
:beach: enjoy that beautiful weather!!!
Love Mom & Son days, especially when it’s freeeeee :)
Those are the best!!!!!
I love park planning. Hope you are able to get all the reservations you want.
I am loving the planning part! And since we are staying off-site - when it's time for me to book our Disney lightening lanes and ILL's we will be sitting at the airport waiting to board our plane. So it works out great!!!!
Wednesdays are usually the slowest.
Wednesday is our busiest day! It is follow-up day. So consults in the morning - and afternoons are full of follow-ups.

Speaking of follow-ups, I should get the afternoon clipboards ready to go.

Have a great day everyone!

I remember you very well!

Welcome back home VicksMc!

Don’t be a stranger and jump in and yak with us.
Thanks Mac. It’s been a while.

We had a great visit to Orlando last month. Mostly Disney but we had 3 days at Universal and had a blast.
We are looking to sneak in a wee week in Nov/Dec time and it will be a universal only trip.
It will just be my husband and I because my son is teaching now so can’t go in term time.
I’m excited about it so hopefully we can get it sorted.

Hey all. So soggy here Our drought is gone tho!

Pumpkin thanks for that. I've had a couple of concussions over the years. Do use electrolyte supplementally when in Orlando & heavy exercise. Will try that next time I get a whopper

I went shopping for gym clothes yesterday.
I almost always need 1 to 2 sizes up in leggings. Combo of size and I hate feeling like a sausage

Try Ross dress for less next time. Here they have both no name & brands (addidas, Nike, athleta). Hit or miss what's in stock at any time. I've had good luck with a cheaper brand RBK. Holds up & doesn't stretch out.

You will probably be fine grabbing a last minute reservation if you wish. I have been checking the app periodically and there are always several same day reservations available. Some are even the harder to get ones.

Wednesday is our busiest day! It is follow-up day. So consults in the morning - and afternoons are full of follow-ups.
I would have welcomed a busy day today. I had almost nothing to do. Don’t want to complain too much though.

What I bought aren’t exactly leggings. More like soft pants. They aren’t form fitting like most leggings.
I never think about Ross when I am shopping. My city has one, but I don’t think I’ve ever shopped there.

My new gym bag arrived today. It’s a little larger than I need, but I think it suits me well.
