Something About Nothing............ #14

Morning all. Up bright and early as the mr said his eye appt was too, nope, closer to 11 am :snail: Had a minor medical procedure yesterday that I wasn’t all in with from the get go. The 15 min event stretched to 1-1/2 hrs and should’ve included anesthesia lol. It was deemed a failure within a few hours. :bitelip: Told it’s not unusual to need it repeated, sometimes multiple times. Not happening any time soon, if at all. Was happy to wake up feeling fine this am!

I gave it a couple of hours, she hammered them out. My primary function in that regard is $ :)

Wow, i had no idea you could backdate Medicare coverage. Interesting. Sounds like a very nice lady to pay it forward, most would take the $ and run.

I need my AM news. Loving history, have been lapping up all the documentaries running over the last week. The President gave an inspiration speech, along with many of the other dignitaries.

Well, a decent chance of a rain delay due to TS, but shouldn’t be more than an hour or so

Glad you feel better today Janet, never fun to have something that might not be a success.

Yes, the presentations and special shows over the last few days especially, have been incredibly moving.

Today was a massive success. Everyone including the veterans were completely overwhelmed at times, but something worth doing.

Caught up with some friends after we dropped the lovely veteran at the Royal British Legion Club where he was going to enjoy a couple of drinks with old friends.

Catching up with some friends over lunch was nice, first for over a month so we had a lot to chat about. I`m surprised our weather is so poor for the first week in June, it`s nicer today than it was yesterday, but not warm yet.

We have some gardeners in today to help our usual guy, clearing some trees from right down the bottom of our property, so just made them some drinks now we`re home, it looks very empty now, but the wall is still there and not damaged as they thought it might be by the tree roots.

Hoping to get out some walks soon early hours, I know some of you have mentioned wanting to see some pretty sunrise pictures again, if the weather plays nice, I`ll get some soon.

Dairy Queen made it all better🍦

then i spent 2 hours trying to log in/process 4 insurance reimbursement claims, might need 🍺, here.

Multi tasked and got both a beef roast done and country ribs almost there in the instapot = leftovers for tomorrow too, priceless💃

Quick stop in!!!

Woke up with a horrible migraine. I haven't had one this bad in awhile - didn't get out of bed besides taking some meds. Called in sick today - as our casual girl was in today - so it was easy to make the decision to call in - instead of trying to manage my way through until it subsides. It finally subsided mid afternoon - and I'm left with the headache hangover :crazy2: My dr asked me to track my headaches -they seem to strike when we have huge swings in weather - barometer brain is common in this province/area.

I braved the windy evening last night and got the rest of my garden pots/planting done. I will have to pick up a few more bags of dirt for my potatoes to cover as they grow. It worked amazing last year and had an amazing harvest of potatoes. Just a few fresh veggies for eating and snacking on. Hopefully my tomato plants do well - then maybe more salsa and pasta sauce.

Kyle bought an apartment in January and he officially completed beginning of May
That's fantastic - and amazing that he was able to complete all the renovations he wanted to accomplish in such a short amount of time.
Days till vacation.
:cheer2: Your almost in single digits! It will be a good distraction for you.
I suggested that if the client was really that adamant about giving away the money maybe she could donate it to a charity. I think that is what she is going to do
That is the perfect idea if the client is so adamant about a gift! Especially with the current way the economy is - many people are simply not donating anymore to charities of any sort.

It has been all over the tv today. It brought tears to my eyes to hear the stories and see veterans visiting those beaches again.

Ummmmmm can I come for dinner. That sounds delicious. I'll even bring dessert! I'm glad you woke up feeling better today. Typical patriarchal medical system :furious:

Well, I should try to figure out what we will be eating for dinner tonight - then pack as we are heading to the city to see some of dh's siblings and watch football and Game 1 of the cup play offs.

Have a great evening everyone!

Ice cream for the win!! I still haven`t ever tried anything from DQ.

Beef and ribs.....lush!!!!

Hope you feel much better today Pumpkin, I agree, migraines and headaches can be most definitely weather related, pressure change can zing us.

Good luck with the veggies, nothing nicer than freshly grown produce, we have herbs and garlic, that`s it lol.....but we have a few chillie plants now and hoping they multiply to a decent size. But, tomatoes are best when home grown.

I admit we worked our butts off for almost three weeks solid starting with plain old cleaning then decorating. He did get the professionals in for flooring, kitchen and both bathrooms as they were all changed, thankfully he got rid of the gas hob and oven and replaced it with a very modern ceramic hob and sparkly new oven, it truly was a labour of love, and good timing arranging all the professionals, but we really did have a lot of fun doing it. However, as I said to you, some nights we got home and just showered and went to bed, we did ache a good bit too, but it was worth it.

Have a lovely weekend watching the games and seeing relatives, always fun!!

Looks to be a decent day, but still kinda windy, we`re ready for some calm and warm weather for sure.

Have a lovely Friday :)

Fabulous Friday here. And booting up, giving me that blue circle and not loading. Time to reboot and try again. But glad no commuting today.

Big cup of tea, as house is just cool enough to feel nice. Also nice, as no humidity in house when that summer humid weather says hello.

Kids sent me pictures of their seats at the ballgame last night. Hehe, smaller stadium, and neat, a bridge for pedestrians only, from their hotel to stadium. How nice is that. Two of little one’s pictures:
IMG_2628.jpegIMG_2616.jpeg

And glad they had a nice night, and doesn’t look like they had any rain.

Good weather day for us, a clear sky, as already so bright out. And the birds are chirping loudly, so they are glad for this very bright start to the day.

Ah, reboot did the trick. Back to that shortest day of week day routine.

Ooh Pumpkin, glad your headache went away. Those type of headaches are awful.

Love ice cream to all make better, Keisha. Hope you are feeling better today, and family gets to be happy to eat all that meat you cooked up.

So back to routine I go. With it also being pay day. That’s good, as bills to pay this weekend.

And some Lego fun with my sister tonight. The Lego indoor play center is open tonight for an adult only event there. It’s nice, as not that far away, and in a mall, that sadly, looks mostly run down.

Most Fabulous Friday to all, and hope all have a Most Wonderful Weekend. It’s the month of June. Half the year has gone by. Wow, time does fly.

Happy Friday. Nothing much going on today. b works from 2-7 and dh decided to take a weekend trip to Williamsburg. I will do a little house cleaning later. Right now I am watching 80’s videos.

Had a minor medical procedure yesterday that I wasn’t all in with from the get go. The 15 min event stretched to 1-1/2 hrs and should’ve included anesthesia lol. I don’t know if that is standard procedure when a practitioner is accepted to take Medicare or something they are doing for the LPCs who are allowed to join this year. One therapist was able to bill back to January 1. The other got her application in later and could only back bill to January 13.

Nice bridge. I miss having a professional baseball team nearby. We have a minor league team in my city.

Happy Friday!!! Road trip to Tennessee for a birthday with the DW.
Safe travels.

Hey all, saw the first lightening bugs of the season when out on the front porch watching the mr drink a brew. The glamorous life :)

Had to find a AAA office with a notary today, our nearby one has the agent out on long-term leave. Lots of hoops to take a grandchild out of the country. Almost as bad as when parents are divorced. I get the rationale . Doesn’t mean I haves to like it. All done though.

Ummmmmm can I come for dinner. That sounds delicious. I'll even bring dessert! I'm glad you woke up feeling better today. Typical patriarchal medical system :furious:
Had thought the same thing at the time. I’m rethinking treatment plan as to trying everything out there from soup to nuts. How about let’s just get to the meat of it and be done with it?

It’s been odd without a game on every night! Lucky you to see the game, have fun
Ice cream for the win!! I still haven`t ever tried anything from DQ.
Well, I shouldn’t dignify it as real ice cream. Nowhere near the legal fat content. Probably a good thing. I just have them throw it in a small blizzard and I’m good to go. Only issue, they took off most of the ones I do enjoy and the summer offerings are rather lame.
I admit we worked our butts off for almost three weeks solid starting with plain old cleaning then decorating.
I’m sure he will remember your kindness forever. Counts double to do that sort of hands on work vs writing a check imo.

The smaller size is part of why the experts love it, no bad seats. next time tell your kids to get seats on 1st or 3rd baseline or upper decks for that killer night view, especially if it’s a light up night. That view has compensated for many games where we’ve been crushed over the years.

Lol it absolutely poured north east of the city, they got lucky. Nice to hear they had a great time.
Sounds like my job.
I wouldn’t last a week, so frustrating to deal with what I imagine as “drones” in the insurance companies. I lost count of how many different people I had to speak to in order to log into the accounts.

Would you believe I finally landed at IT. they instituted a new system wherein they no longer use the full numbers that are printed on our insurance cards. Any digits after & including the dash automatically reject the request.

I innocently asked why they didn’t send out a notice to their customers or new cards with the correct numbers.

The answer: I don’t know :bitelip: At least I do know the secret to logging in now.

Is it nice? Only a few I know have tried booking them, most say the love them. I’m a bit of a chicken there.

It's phenomenal. We've done okay in Orlando. This one is a palace.
We also had lighting bugs tonight and one of the kids was chasing them.

lol....I won`t add DQ to my list of places to visit then.

Yes, hands on has been amazing, I`m surprised how much we really enjoyed doing such hard graft...no plans to do it in our own place though...we`ll get the guy for things like that

He`s treating us to dinner next Saturday night as an extra thank you, looking forward to that.

Very early sunrise this morning.

VIEWS89-S.jpg

Beautiful day, very sunny, very breezy so our walk this morning was brief, it`s beautiful in the sunshine but not so nice in the shade.

Laundry done, met some friends for lunch and plan a lazy afternoon ahead for us, it`s been a busy few weeks and we volunteered a lot last week when maybe we should have caught up on doing absolutely nothing lol. But, it`s something we`ve always done in one form or another.

Garden is blooming which is lovely to see.

Thai food for dinner tonight, cooking everything from scratch which I love to do.

Happy Saturday ☺️

Good Saturday morning everyone :wave2:

Almost forgot the highlight of my day. I went through a fast dood drive thru on my lunch. The woman at the window thought I was 38. 😂
Always nice to get a complement that you look younger then your actual years. It does put a smile on your face.

Thank you Robbie, we had such a lovely time helping him, we did joke we don`t even decorate our own home, we get a firm in, but he wanted to do it which meant "we" did it too lol.....some of his friends joined in too which was nice.
Sounds like Kyle had lots of help with his decoration job. Wonderful that you all stepped in and helped him get settled in his new place.

The roof was an odd one, there was nothing wrong with it, but on older properties it`s better to replace before any issues turn up and I think when we go to sell it, it will be an extra selling point as it is a big job, so we bit the bullet and went ahead. Oh we did joke to Felicity we`re booking in again soon for more of the same lol.....
Yes, getting those big dollar improvements done on your home do pay in the end when you go to sell for sure. It does give you peace of mind.

Hope all went well with your appointment and a trip coming up is always nice.
Thank you Carole. Everything went well with Doc appt. Did get her opinion on my upcoming procedure with dermatology surgeon in July. She is a wonderful doctor.

Thank you, she is doing really well, this will make such a difference to her.
So good to hear she is doing well. I’am sure having the wonderful care of her parents is making her feel better too.

I don`t usually watch tv in the morning but have been watching live from Normandy on one channel, such emotion watching those scenes.
We have had some nice coverage on some stations of the Normandy events. Like you said It is very touching to see the veterans honored.

I can’t imaging getting off one of those landing craft and trying to step on that beach under heavy fire. So many lost their lives in that war.

I pray their sacrifice is never forgotten.

Janet sorry to hear you had issues with your procedure. Hope you feel better soon.

Woke up with a horrible migraine. I haven't had one this bad in awhile - didn't get out of bed besides taking some meds. Called in sick today
Those headaches are horrible. I hope you are feeling better. I think there is something to be said about those headaches having some link to severe barometric pressure changes for sure.

Kids sent me pictures of their seats at the ballgame last night. Hehe, smaller stadium, and neat, a bridge for pedestrians only, from their hotel to stadium. How nice is that. Two of little one’s pictures:
Those are nice pictures your children sent.

If I was the Therapist I would refund the money to the patient and the patient can donate the money herself. That could be a very legal gray area with Medicare.

Gray start to the day with light rain this morning.

It was warm and sunny yesterday. I had little J for the day and we went to a splash pad play area and he had the best time.

I have a few things to do in the house and yard today. Will see what I can get done then the rest will wait til tomorrow.

Days until vacation.

Need to get moving this morning.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Yay for Robo having fun soon, and hope your medical procedure goes perfectly next month.

Glorious sunshine we have, with refreshing 22 mph wind gusts. DH went with me, to put gas in my car. Always nice when I don’t have to pump. Then we had, somewhat overpriced, pancakes with strawberries and blueberries, chocolate Nutella spread, and a huge pile of fresh whipped cream, with actually good tasting hot coffee, that I made iced, before we left from the corner bakery, just a block away from gas station. Traffic was busy more when we left then when we returned home. Was a nice and relaxing breakfast with DH, as place was not crowded when we ate. Was a perfect time. Past the more usual breakfast time, but before the early lunchtime hours. So no line to order and choice of seats.

Lazy day in store. I think I will do a Target run soon. Have to pick up some items. I’m so full, think noshing for any lunch and a later dinner.

Kids texted they are leaving my brother’s place, and heading to some lake fun for the next two days. The said they spent more than 4 hours at the USAF museum. Little one said older one was telling her all about the planes there. No need for a guide, lol.

Hehe, when he was a little guy, like 5 years old, DH gave him playing cards with all the info about all the known military planes. When we visited the USS New Jersey, he chatted with the veterans, who were so amazed that a very young guy knew all the info about the planes used on that aircraft carrier. History fan older one has been, since a toddler, and really still likes military history.

Weekend time. Yay!

Hey all!

heck we don`t even decorate our own home
Well, you sure have a knack for it
Lovely picture Janet, your GD is a star!!!!
Thanks. Just back from another meet. Again, 1st in triple & 800 m, 4th in long jump. 400 & 800 b2b, so she skipped it this week as trying to set another PR on it. Next weekend nationals in Phillie.

Got sweet talked into buying 4 cute new disney Target collection of long midriff sort of tank tops. They will cover her waist band so I’m good lol. I don’t get the whole limited release, hunger games sort of thing to obtain thing for much of their clothing. What do i know?

Tired, sliced down leftover roast beef & made hot sandwich for the mr. The ends of the meat then got mixed with some Salsa & bit of gravy, will go over nachos.

Read a hack about making a frozen pizza taste better. Tell me more, I never buy them as they taste like cardboard. Turns out, you thaw them out in the refrigerator, then bake. Ummm tempted, I tried.

Did doctor up a very thin crust one with green pepper, sausage, pepperoni, black olives & some yellow pickled peppers.

New dog learned a trick. Going to stock freezer with a few for those days I’m clueless
Very early sunrise this morning
Very early indeed but, lovely
Garden is blooming which is lovely to see.
What sort of plant/tree is that? Don’t think I’ve ever seen it before
Janet sorry to hear you had issues with your procedure. Hop you feel better soon.
Well, can’t complain, really the first time things just fell apart. Can live with those odds. Going for PT on Monday, 2nd one. I’m really not feeling the deep tissue massage to try to break down my muscles (that are too tight) and old scar tissue. Same with the yoga. Trying to get an attitude adjustment & give it a chance but, not there yet.
chocolate Nutella spread
Everyone really seems to love Nutella. I’ve tried as kids and GD enjoy it. It’s just a bit too sweet for me I think. Have melted it and used as syrup on waffles for them.

Tomorrow supposed to attend a flag football camp my boys are holding in the am. Same as last Sunday. Complimentary, nice way for kids to try out the sport. It’s getting quite popular in our area now, even with girls. Long as it’s warmer than last week, I’m good to go. Fun to see the little ones out on the field.

Good morning. DH is doing that volunteering today, so he said to turn in the 4 am alarm. Yeah, you guessed it, we were both awake before it went off. I took a shower as he left, and then went back to sleep for another hour. Then been trying to find something interesting on the tube. Early mornings are more chances to find nothing new, except the news.

70 degrees and overcast, and a chance of rain around noon, then clear sky to be seen all afternoon. Yay, another nice day. We should be, it’s June. 78 the high. So, time of year, yay, shorts on. And yay, heard the week weather forecast. Woot! 91 the high on Friday. Certainly should make this Friday a lazy one, given that yay warmer day.

But as a Sunday, today, that alarm reset, and trash to curb after dinner. And maybe a visit to my see my sister. Have to call her to see what her agenda is today. Maybe some pool time, so will put bathing suit in car, just in case. Hehe, really like when she warms the pool to that perfect bath like temp. Yay, pool time of year.

Keisha, yay for all the wins and placing GD did at that last meet. How exciting to come East for a meet next week. Hope you are feeling better today. Ack, to last time not going as well as should have.

Kids are coming home tomorrow, more lake fun for them today. They said their hotel room overlooks the water. I’m glad they have had a great time on their road trip.

Most Serene Sunday.

Hehe, Tastykakes for breakfast. I may stop for some iced coffee on the way to my sister’s, but have a nice big mug of tea with those butterscotch krimpets.

Quick hello before heading off to church. It’s my turn to provide some of the snack foods. Sometimes I bake, but somedays, like today, I take the easy way out. I will be stopping by Dunkin on the way to church and picking up donut holes.

I wouldn’t last a week, so frustrating to deal with what I imagine as “drones” in the insurance companies. I lost count of how many different people I had to speak to in order to log into the accounts.

It can be infuriating at times. Anthem will often tell you not to use part of the ID number and then later ask for all of it. I have a copy of the military alphabet next to my desk for the companies that have alpha prefixes.

Is your daughter still enjoying her job? Hope so, it`s nice to know they`re settled into something. And enjoy your weekend!
I don’t think enjoying is the correct word. She likes it okay, but would rather be doing something else. We still haven’t convinced her to go to grad school yet.

If I was the Therapist I would refund the money to the patient and the patient can donate the money herself. That could be a very legal gray area with Medicare.
She is definitely refunding the money to the client. The client was trying to come up with sneaky ways to give it back to her, but the therapist said no. The client will either keep her refund or donate to charity.

Read a hack about making a frozen pizza taste better. Tell me more, I never buy them as they taste like cardboard. Turns out, you thaw them out in the refrigerator, then bake. Ummm tempted, I tried.
Interesting. I will give that a try sometime.

I can hear B clearing her throat in the other room. She has been complaining about a sore throat and feeling like her ears need to clear. I think a trip to urgent care may be in order.
