Something About Nothing............ #14

We are still busy working on our Ocala house.
Think Mr Mac needs more days at our Georgia house to recover
and clear up more paperwork work before he heads out to our FL house in a few days.

We are like a tag team
He handles the things I can’t do and I handle info and plans on our donation schedule.
I get off easy for that situation.

I am getting tired of all the trips he has to do.
But we set up a schedule and trying to finish up the priorities that needs attention first.

Each week the to do list shortens.
Probate won’t come anytime soon and will live with it.

Once it clears, we can start the process to put the house on the market.
It won’t be soon but hopefully when I am back from my vacation.

When we first moved to Georgia, I started a vegetable garden.
As the years passed, realized the vegetables stands down the road from us had better produce than us.

Each morning I wake up and tell myself to book my flights for Fl
I have everything done except flights.
So that is my job for tomorrow to take care of.

Do any of the homies here wait months out before they with flights?
I used to book flights out at 8 or 6 months and later cut back the time and book at 4 out as past trips over the years airlines would change flights regularly

Now I book 2 months out and hope no more changes.

How is the weather where you live?
Looks quite miserably hot in some places !

That`s the joy of marriage mac.....teamwork, sharing everything and working together......I know he`s happy to get things sorted and it`ll take time of course, but you`ll get there with it mac.

Our flights are released 11 months out from our return date, I`m not sure we pay the best price booking straight away, but our flights, especially PE seats sell out fast, not interested in getting the cheapest seats, we just want to choose where to sit and happy to pay more if need be.

Blowing a hoolie here tonight, but it`s not cold, just almost 30mph winds, had thunder and lightning back and forward all day. But, at least we don`t have those dreadful temps that most of Europe has right now.

Good Saturday morning everyone

We had a nice time at the birthday party. This particular pizza restaurant has the best pizza. It was so nice to see everyone.

Sending get well prayers for your friend.

Sending positive thoughts that B gets her job. Always nice to get your foot in the door somewhere until you find the job you really want.

That would have been shocking. Good thing the Bear took off without issue.

He is doing some better after the injection. It did not take the pain away totally, but it has helped for sure.

Have a safe trip up to Scotland and enjoy you time with hour mom and family.

He is doing really well in his times for someone who is fairly new to running. Good for him.

Yep, always nice to have choices when packing for a trip. I hope you are feeling better Sue. Continued good thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Shout out to Janet hope you all had a wonderful trip.

Mac hope things are coming together for you all in settling your brothers estate.
Hope you are getting some sleep. Prayers being sent your way.

I had a wonderful time with Little J on Friday. We went shopping at Meijer and of course stopped at the Starbucks in the store for our drinks. J likes the apple juice and I got my coffee.

After dropping our shopping off at home we headed to the Mall for J to play in the play area. It was too hot to play outside. We made our lunch stop for his favorite Pretzel and cheese at Ben’s Soft Pretzels. It seemed like the day flew by and it was time to go home for his nap.

He is such a sweet little fella. I love getting to spend time with him. He is now into the Minions so of course I had to order him a Minion short outfit.

I went to Sam’s the other day and stocked up on fruit for our fruit smoothies in the morning. I brought everything home and cleaned the berries and let everything dry and then froze some of them.

I started on the fruit smoothies a few months ago and while my dad was visiting I got him drinking them in the morning too. Then hubby finally decided he would try them and he likes them now.

So far the mix has been bananas, cherries, blueberries, peaches, strawberries and pineapple. It sounds like a big mix, but it is so good.

I read above that a few of you ladies are doing the smoothies also. They are a wonderful way to get some fruit in your diet for the day and are yummy too.

I‘am going to stock up and freeze the dark sweet cherries that are in season. I did that last year and wished I had frozen more.

I saw the foot doc on Thursday. I did get my orthotic for my left foot replaced, but the injury from dropping my phone on my foot was not healing and continued to swell. I have a stress fracture on top of my foot. That was why it was not healing. So now I’am in a fracture boot.

My first thought was I need to get this foot thing fixed before HHN. There is plenty of walking as you all know at HHN and I want to be able to do that without problems.

I think my younger Sister might be coming again this year and my niece might fly in also for a few days. Hope it all works out.

Now onto HHN. I have not really been keeping up on a regular basis with the ticket prices etc…I finally looked at the mult-day passes and and the Tours and everything have gone up a lot. I should have booked the RIP Tour when I looked at it the first time as it has gone up $40.00, but I didn’t want to book a bunch of things and then have to cancel If health things are not advancing well with hubby or myself. Oh well I will see how things go.

Stranger Things house was announced this week. All the younger crowd and Stranger Things fans will be happy about this house for sure. Have a feeling Vecna will play heavily in this house for sure.

Not much planned today. It was stormy and dark this morning. It did rain a little. We needed it as it has been very hot. Hope it brings down the heat and humidity.

I need to go through a stack of pictures on the desk in my office in get them in the photo albums.

Yesterday was our sweet granddaughters birthday. She was 26. It only seems like yesterday she was a baby in my arms. She is out of town until tomorrow and we told her to pick a restaurant she wanted to have dinner at tomorrow evening. Reservations are taken care of.

Hope your lovely granddaughter had a lovely birthday and I`m sure you`ll have a wonderful time celebrating with her when you take her to dinner.

Thanks Robbie, my friend is doing much better tonight, she made a sarky remark as I was leaving, so I knew she was improving......lol.....

Lovely to spend time with little J.....and sorry you have the boot on now!! I`m sure you`ll be fine for HHN, and hope your sister does make the trip with you, I know you enjoy your time with her on your trips.

Been a funny old day, popped all the way over to see my friend again, yep, she`s getting better as she`s grumpy! But the weather.....heck, one minute we have bright sunshine, next it`s thunder, lightning and torrential downpours, now it`s just blowing a hoolie!!

Thai food was spicy!!! That`ll teach us to ask them to make it a little more spicy, beautiful though.

Think we`ll be driving into rain tomorrow, but no plans to do anything except to see family, have dinner and see more family in the evening, don`t care what the weather`s like.

Packed earlier so we can just get up and go, got out housesitters coming over mid morning, they know the house well so no issues there.

Will be popping in though of course, when I have internet!!

Sending thoughts of safe travels for you tomorrow!

It’s going to be so exciting for all of you to spend lots of time with family and friends.

Good afternoon. Semi lazy day today. Dh spent most of the day out with his friends and I spent several hours working on my cross stitch project. I also discovered a cross stitch picture I had started making for him about 25 years ago that I never completed. I will finish it after I have completed my current project.
Since dh was gone most of the day, B and I decided to go downtown to the tea room and have tea. When we left I thought I saw dh's car parked outside. It was the same make, model, and color as dh's car and the license plate was identical except for the last 2 numbers. Weird.
We got home just in time for the next round of thunderstorms to start.

Tomorrow we’re going over to Husbands brother for dinner. We’ll bring dessert. Key Lime Pie.
Now I'm craving key lime pie.

seems some folks think it`s a competition on who gets up earliest,
That's a competition I will be happy to lose.

When does your daughter start her temporary job? Hope she enjoys it.
She hasn't interviewed for it yet, but if she gets the job she will start on August 7.

I popped round to see my friend who collapsed in Europe last night with the heat, she looked ok but still wasn`t right.
Continued well wishes for her.
Safe travels for you tomorrow.

We are still busy working on our Ocala house.

Once it clears, we can start the process to put the house on the market.
It won’t be soon but hopefully when I am back from my vacation.
I hope you can get this taken care of sooner than later.

Do any of the homies here wait months out before they with flights?
As soon as I know when my trip will be I start looking at flights. I book as soon as I see a good price. I booked the flight for my September trip at the end of April.

Sending positive thoughts that B gets her job
Thanks.

Yesterday was our sweet granddaughters birthday.
Happy birthday to her.

Still raining with thunder off and on. I don't think we are going anywhere tonight.

@schumigirl the temps in Europe are dreadful. Glad your friend is on the mend. My friends daughter is in Italy right now. I hope she’ll be ok.
I guess in Canada some expressions as well as spelling are the same? My son in law calls me mum. And my youngest Daughter. My oldest calls me Mamma.
Just bought 2 linen dresses to take with me. I think they’ll be nice and cool for Universal. Can be perfect for the parks or dressed up for dinner. They’re nice and breezy.

@macraven it must feel good having that To Do list shrink!
I generally book my flight well ahead of time, once I know my dates and book my room I start looking at flights. I fly with Alaska Airlines. Just a short commuter fl ight to Seattle then direct to MCO. Plus IMO they’re the most reliable from here. And I like going thru customs here, and be done with it. Flying a Canadian airline you usually have to fly into Toronto :crazy2: And go thru customs there before transferring to next flight to MCO. It’s painful!
I gave up on my veg garden this year. Just growing some tomatoes and a couple of strawberry plants.

@Robo56 pixiedust:Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! Glad to hear the injections for hubby are giving some relief. But ouch on your stress fracture. Hopefully now that you have the air cast/boot it will start healing.
I‘ve been enjoying the smoothies, so refreshing in this hot weather. Using the blueberries we froze. And we have the best local cherries, Yum. We are buying tons and eating them all! I never thought of freezing them. I guess I’d have to get a pitter.

@schumigirl blowing a hoolie! I hope you have better weather for the drive up!.

@Charade67 that is very odd about the car! Tea sounds lovely. I used to love going for High Tea, too bad it’s way too much sugar and carbs for me now. Good timing getting home before the storm.

It’s HOT here! 4:30 and 90F in the shade on the patio! Had another coffee get together today with 3 other friends at a local coffee shop. It’s the lower floor of a heritage building. Just a small local business, good to see them succeeding. We sat outside under a shade tree. Nice get together. In a few minutes heading to husbands brothers place for dinner. His girlfriend is cooking up some Chinese food. She’s a very good cook. We’ll bring the Key Lime pie and wine. Another friend is joining us there. They go way back! The boys all went to school together.

I hope it cools down some tonight. I look at it as climatizing for Orlando!

Oh Charade, we got just over a half an inch of rain about 2 hours ago, saying another half inch by end of today. Our flood watch expires a few hours before yours. Wow, some of the awful and deadly flooding our local news had. Where we are, while we do have floods, our street was finally fixed to not flood at its entrance years ago now. Hope you don’t loose electricity and are safe.

Nothing like yesterday afternoon, little one finding DH passed out on the sidewalk. Trip to hospital, he was diagnosed with heat exhaustion and it messed him up for a few hours. Five bags of IV hydration, and he was able to walk out feeling fine in the early evening. Scary. And poor little one, was so upset, thought DH would be mad at her for taking him to the hospital. I said right you did and he won’t be mad at you. He wasn’t. It was so sticky humid out yesterday. And thank you to our guy and wife neighbor that helped get DH into the car. They are so nice people, and we have been lucky, when help is needed, all our neighbors have always helped. And this morning, went to toss trash out, as humid and with a light rain felt.

And so, even if not pool time today, still going to visit sister. Have two puzzles I finished, so passing them in to her. I’m not one to save done puzzles. Only two I have saved. One I’ve made into a picture, hanging on the wall. The other, was kinda pricey, and I really liked the design, so may do it someday again. And so, lunch we bring. Little one was thinking what to bring. When she gets up, I’ll ask her the choice. I’m thinking grilled sandwiches. Easy and all enjoy. I’ll see what she says as to my vote. Otherwise, grilling chicken or other, if the rain holds out.

And so, Sunday it is. The day the alarm is set, the trash cans to the curb later in the evening. Our township asks cans to be ready by 7 am on Monday. So almost all the neighbors, and us, drag them down this evening instead of the early next morning. And I do usually hear the first truck around 7:30am.

Ah the last day of rest before a week of week day routine. Sigh. But at least four of the five days not needed to be in the office.

So hope all stay dry, safe, cool if in hot weather, and so enjoying this middle of July Sunday. Good morning from a rainy day homie. Who happily has a cup of tea, well, two so far. Ooh hear the beep of the clothes dryer. Means my towels are done. Yay, warm towels and time for my long hot shower. Carry on. Off I go.

had to read your post twice …. very scary for what your husband and daughter went through!!

Assume today he is back to better health and will continue getting his strength back

sending Mummy dust he is back to normal now

Oh wow, Lynne. I am glad he is okay. It must have been terrifying for you daughter when she found him like that. Yes, she did the right thing by taking him to the hospital.

Sending thoughts of safe travels for you tomorrow!

It’s going to be so exciting for all of you to spend lots of time with family and friends.

Thank you mac…….we saw most of my siblings today and mum of course. Lovely.

Happy birthday to her.

Still raining with thunder off and on. I don't think we are going anywhere tonight.

Not being competitive I’m with you…..who really cares what time other folks get up!!! I don’t care when anyone else get up!

Sending your daughter all good wishes she gets the job and enjoys it. And hope you have a lovely cosy evening at home.

Had an interesting journey up to Scotland, rain, heavier rain and torrential rain along with high winds! But got to the hotel and the sun was shining.

Had a lovely late afternoon with mum, one brother met us and went for dinner together then went over to see my sister and family, always nice. Dinner was really nice, chef had made a special coconut malibu cheesecake, it was lovely.

Back in hotel now, we do have a lovely sea view, but pitch black right now, so can’t see a thing out of our window.

An evening with wine so we’re ready for bed soon, almost midnight here. But did speak to my friend who collapsed with the heat on Monday and made it home, she is doing better. Heat stroke is not funny, but thankfully she is improving, almost a week since she collapsed now.

Finish my wine and bed……….

Well another hot day where I live and tomorrow will be the same.

When I lived In northern Illinois, I dreamed of some day moving to an area of more than two seasons which were freezing cold to a two week period of hot weather

I have now changed my mind that I prefer only having 4 weeks in a years time of having 90 degree weather.

Good Sunday evening everyone

Happy birthday wishes for your grand daughter Robbie!
Thank you Mac.

I know that your foot aches!
So hope the fracture mends well and pain begins to subside.

Stress fractures hurt and can linger on longer than we wish
Thank you Mac. It is one of those things that will take time to heal.

A very happy birthday to your granddaughter, Robo. Ack, hope your foot gets better, and hope maybe to see ya and sister in the fog.
Thank you Lynne.

Hope your lovely granddaughter had a lovely birthday and I`m sure you`ll have a wonderful time celebrating with her when you take her to dinner.
Thank you Carole. We had a nice dinner and visit and she loved her gifts.

Thanks Robbie, my friend is doing much better tonight, she made a sarky remark as I was leaving, so I knew she was improving......lol.....
So good to hear your friend is feeling better.

Lovely to spend time with little J.....and sorry you have the boot on now!! I`m sure you`ll be fine for HHN, and hope your sister does make the trip with you, I know you enjoy your time with her on your trips.
I so enjoy my time with little J. He is my shopping buddy.

I’am clumsy without a boot on so you can guess how I‘am now with a fracture boot on….LOL….I have to laugh it off really. Who would think you could fracture your foot dropping your cell phone on it.

Looking forward to HHN. Hope the rest of the houses that are to be announced are interesting. It will be nice if sister and niece are able to go.

Prayers that your foot will be healed in time for HHN.
Thank you Charade. Looking forward to a little Universal time.

Happy birthday to her.
Thank you.

Happy Birthday to your granddaughter! Glad to hear the injections for hubby are giving some relief. But ouch on your stress fracture. Hopefully now that you have the air cast/boot it will start healing.

Thank you Sue. Granddaughters birthday dinner was nice.

Sending good healing thoughts your way.

Wow…..it is a good thing that your daughter found your hubby. Men are so stoic about things like that. He was in real trouble. Glad to hear he was treated well with IV fluids. I have heard that once you have had heat exhaustion you are more prone to have it in the future. So increased fluids when out and frequent breaks in the air conditioning. So good to hear your neighbors helped get him in the car.

Sending prayers he continues to feel better.

Had an interesting journey up to Scotland, rain, heavier rain and torrential rain along with high winds! But got to the hotel and the sun was shining.
Good to hear you all made it safely to Scotland. Sound like a nail biting trip with the weather.

Wishing you all a wonderful time with your mom and family.

Had a lovely day out with daughter in law. We went out for coffee and some retail therapy. I found some unique Halloween things at HomeGoods could not resist.

We met our family at a nice steak restaurant to celebrate granddaughters birthday. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and we a had nice visit.

Tried new orthotic on my foot and it is way off. I gave the Tech my molds and broken orthotic to go on and it is still not right. I will call tomorrow. You can put it next to old orthotic and tell it is to narrow. They are good about fixing it when it does not work.

Going to watch a little TV this evening then going to bed early.

Have a wonderful Sunday night everyone.

Mac hope you and Charade are able to get some good shut eye tonight.

IMG_1533.jpeg

Thanks Robbie, it’s always wonderful being up here with everyone, weather is secondary of course, good job as we were awakened by torrential rain around 5.30am…..clearing now though.

Lol…..I hope you aren’t as clumsy with the boot on!! Yes, you’d never think you could do such damage like that. And glad you had such a lovely dinner with family again.

Had a lovely dinner and evening with some of the family last night, got back here late, but this morning could see our lovely view.

IMG_2746.jpeg

And champagne in the room…….

IMG_2740.jpeg

Getting brighter by the minute here, although I can see rain over on the island now, but we don’t have many plans today except for seeing folks.

Off for breakfast in the restaurant now then along to mum’s to spend the day with her and a few others we’ll see.

It’s so lovely being here…….. ::yes::

Ah, back to that week day routine it is. And another day of high humidity and hot, with 90 the high. And yep, I told DH to be very careful with being outside, doing yard work, Robo. Was a scare for all of us. I was very thankful it could have been much worse, with all the other issues he still has. And as we get older, heat can really be a threat to our health.

Ah that Monday feeling, and weather lady said no rain to see today. That’s okay with me. Love seeing a clear sky. And while those clouds will be around to make it a partly sunny day for an hour or two today, doesn’t bother the fact that I do love seeing the sunshine pouring through my windows.

Hmm, swear I heard older one say mom loud enough I heard it. He most usually is not up in this early hour. Didn’t hear him get up or talk to me after that. Guess he was just awake for a few minutes, and was making sure I was home. Another thankful that my office has embraced maximum teleworking.

Good to read Schumi is now enjoying the Scottish countryside. Looks like nice weather there.

Thus, hot tea, birds are chirping outside loud enough I have heard them for a few hours now. Time to get back to a different screen. Hope all have a most Marvelous Monday.

.

:wave2: Finally getting to stop in again. It's been a busy few days.

My shifts at the homecare job are always busy with no down time AT ALL. There truly isn't often where I work where I have nothing to do.

WE had a busy weekend. It was supposed to be a lazy weekend and get caught up on things. We got some of those things done and checked off out to-do list. But we made the mistake of going to look at refrigerators :scratchin

By the end of the month, I'll have a new fridge, stove and dishwasher lol.

WE have had a fridge for quite a few years 10+ years - and when we bought it, we needed a fridge as our other one had crapped out and that was the only one in stock anywhere in our little city. We always wanted something bigger with the water/ice maker. The size we have right now is small...and on Saturday after doing a little clean that turned into me doing a massive full clean on it - I decided I had enough!!!!

Our dishwasher is also on it's last legs - so if we were looking for 2 appliances - we would get a deal if we found 3!!! So all three it is! I got exactly what I wanted in both the fridge and stove. The dishwasher isn't the greatest or the one I really wanted, but if it doesn't clean properly - I'll just wait until I find the one I really want and when it's on sale then swap it out and sell the other one.

Funny how you know your getting old when new applicances are exciting :lmao:

We have been having some warmish weather and WICKED storms in the evenings. It's warm and humid ( humid for us as it's extremely dry here - like Vegas/Nevada dry ) so it's made for some pretty intense storms. Last night - WOW - it was a long night of storms rolling through - then coming back around again ( as we are in the foothills of the Rockies) . So needless to say - I didn't sleep much.

I have a few pages to read up on. I hope everyone is doing great!

Have a great day!

Nice to refresh the kitchen appliances, Pumpkin. You have been busy.

Ah, I’m so glad I taught both my kids how to cook. Little one decided to make our own steak sandwiches, on brioche buns we got when buying a bag full of ice cream items at Whole Foods. With fresh huge heirloom tomato slice and a slice of sharp cheddar. Delicious. Then had a small ice cream sandwich from the pack we bought. Forgot to read, the cookies were chocolate, chocolate chip. That and a cup of tea, as felt cold after eating the ice cream.

But as early up I am, almost my bedtime routine time. Hope all have a very good night sleep.

And yeah, I guess that Canadian forest fires are still sending smoke our way. Sky had a haze, not just from the humidity. Yep, air quality alert issued until tomorrow afternoon. Thankfully in the middle orange range.

Charade, yep, summer thunderstorms are our usual weather. Last couple of years, we did not have as rainy a summer. So gosh darn humid for us today, as weather lady said early this morning, a very warm, 90 degrees the high, and with so much wet in the air, will fire up thunderstorms for us later today too.

And as we are at the second to last Tuesday in July, it’s the day the taco restaurants say it’s a good day to stop in, and enjoy a taco or two. Eh, since older one decided we’d enjoy Taco Bell this weekend, we won’t be going to any taco place today. I think. His car goes into the shop for regular service, and while he’ll pass two Taco Bells on the way, it doesn’t have those fries now, so I’m sure little one, who will be following him so he doesn’t have to wait there, will veto any want to stop there for food. Good thing there are a newly open burger place, and other places that little one will eat at.

Thus, it’s a DH and I quieter day for a few hours with both gone. But as we are both up, coffee for him, tea for me, and both of us are back to that screen routine week day one.

Finally, yep, have to get ready, early morning meetings are almost every day.

Most Terrific Taco Tuesday to you all. Good morning. Warm, already 75 degrees out, and sunny, and still air quality alert this early in the day for us.

I love the summer.
