Something About Nothing............ #14

Full moon looking tonight. My recently passed away cousin was an ER nurse at the local, very large trauma hospital. She worked the night shift. The stories she told of patients that came in, she had such a good sense of humor, and a good story teller like most of my dad’s family, including my dad. She hated working on full moon nights, as said made the people even more crazy. With all people she encountered in her 25 years working that night shift, a book could have been written of all the patients she encountered. It got to her, so she took a job as a nurse at retirement place, before retiring after 20 years. Then she did medical transcription for years until her health started to fail. I miss her. But a full moon always gets me to laugh a little, as those full moon night stories my cousin told me over the years. Oh my is all I can say.

Tea after that full meal at our remaining local taco place. Place was hopping with those eating there and a steady stream of pick up people. We had a quesadilla and fajitas. After putting some good heat on our food, we needed something sweet. We usually don’t order dessert, but both little one and I enjoy cinnamon sugar flavor, so we ordered the churros with ice cream. There were four nice sized ones, with whipped cream and a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Nothing was left, they were that good. And entree servings were big, so older one got leftovers when he came home. He said was tasty. I preferred the more authentic taco place we used to go to, but they were smaller and sadly, closed for good last month. But this was a solid local owned taco place a street over where the closed taco place used to be. My little town still has some cobblestone streets. This new to us Taco place was on one of those streets. So was neat to drive down and park on it.

Hope all have a wonderful evening. Warm night. Still 65 degrees out at this hour. And what? Rainy Thursday to be 82 degrees. Oh my. Yeah and our day trip gets to be when the cold front comes to be 56 the high temp that day. Boo. But whatever. Rain is only on Thursday. And ooh, warm 77 degrees tomorrow, so camel will be enjoying that warm weather while we get it.

And another quiet evening on here last night.......

A good Wednesday morning......we don`t have rain yet, but it`s supposed to be coming today.

Our home alarm company will be out this morning to do the yearly inspection, just checking all the sensors and main alarm box are in good working order, doesn`t take long usually, then we can head out a walk if the rain hasn`t arrived. I will nip out and drop the chocolate treat into Kyle`s offices though, won`t take long.

Heard from our friends who arrived in New York on Monday, they are loving it!!! They love the hotel we suggested and said they won`t stay anywhere else in New York now. The New York Palace is beautiful so I`m glad they love it......I knew they would. They did say it was interesting seeing all that was going on last two days.......protestors and supporters alike.

We need to go get some dollars soon too thinking of America.

Cod in lemon buter sauce for dinner tonight, they are quite chunky pieces so won`t need much with them, no idea for lunch and croissants with fruit for breakfast and as the Queen of tea according to some.....thanks for that.........😁 I will be having a large pot this morning before I start my day.

Reading Einstein: The man and his mind for book group, I didn`t get the bodice ripper we all wanted.......lol......maybe next time!! Fascinating book though, I had no clue about a lot of information about Einstein himself.

Sun is out, but there is a lot of cloud around.

Have a lovely Wednesday :-)

I am awake way too early this morning. Someone on the DL thread said that sometimes some ADRs are released at 3:00 PST instead of 6:00, so I set an alarm, but dh woke me an hour early.

Ever have a day where it seems like every little thing irritates you? That was yesterday for me. My boss just can’t seem to grasp the concept of email. She forwarded an email to me from Medicaid. It was asking for proof that she renewed her license for 2024. I responded to it by asking her a couple of questions. She just forwarded the email back to me and said, “Please fix.” I asked her in person why she didn’t answer my questions. She said that she didn’t see my questions. Ugh! She didn’t even read the email or notice that it came from my address. She just saw the content from Medicaid and forwarded it back to me without even looking at it. This isn’t the first time she has done this. I told her that I was going to start replying to her emails with 72 point red font.
This isn’t the only thing that irritated me yesterday, but it was the worst.

Dh had an annoying day too. He ordered some new shoes that were supposed to arrive today. Yesterday he got a call from UPS. The box arrived at the local sorting facility, but was empty. I guess somewhere along the line someone decided they wanted new shoes and just helped themself. The vendor was contacted and will send a new pair, but dh is still annoyed.

The winds of change happened at my main job. The vice president made a surprise visit, manager was given a three week leave to seek some help.
Hope the manager is able to take care of his issues and you have an improved work environment.

Then last night had a super weird incident happen, just as I was thinking about heading to bed. Had some young girl who was running for her boyfriend knock on our door. Which resulted in dh and I driving her to the women's shelter to seek protection. I spoke with her, and hope she will take the words to heart that I spoke. She was hurt, frightened and many other feelings.
So glad you and your husband were able to be there for her when she needed help. I hope she is able to stay away from that man and he will leave her alone. Did the police get involved?

I still have 25 minutes before I can check for possible ADRs. I guess I will see what’s on TV at this hour.

Ah clouds are here, and some so low, some fog in this early morning. But it’s warm. Above our average of 60 degrees. 56 degrees in this hour or so before sunrise. Warmer day than yesterday, and yesterday felt warmer than we have had. And while today, most of these clouds we will have, aren’t rain, though saying rain showers most likely for NW of the City. So I shouldn’t see any of that rain. Though tomorrow…. And seeing a high of 82 with that rain and possibly hail falling and damaging winds thunderstorms, as another cold front battle line with that warm pump of Southern air. Will be rocking and rolling in the rain, so perfect for a Thirsty Thursday. Hence back to seasonal temp on Friday.

So today in the clouds, who do I see?

83DA2370-1415-44B7-B862-530BE45947C3.jpeg

Well hello camel. Yep, our Wednesday is warm and well, cloudy. You know, the time of year with this warmer temps, heater on in the morning and evenings, AC on during the day, by lunchtime. But heater will stay on Friday, and the rest of our predicted seasonally temps for the holiday weekend.

Though today, yep that hump of a day feeling, so that our mid week reminder has us marveling that now Friday is 2 days away. Woot!

Ack Charade. Hope you get those ADRs after having such annoying things happen to both you and DH yesterday.

A most Wonderful Wednesday. Good morning everyone.

Yes, I have several days where something irritates me, usually it`s other people though, not family thankfully!!!!

It must be very frustrating to deal with a boss like that who doesn`t seem to want to make things easy for you and as for the shoes!!! Well, that`s just super annoying.

Hope today is better for you and good luck with your reservations.

Rain hasn`t stopped here all day, and it is so mild! So, no walk which would have been nice bar the rain. Only went out to drop the treats into Kyle`s offices.

Alarm company were in and out in about 45 minutes, every sensor and other bits have all been checked out and working fine.

Just pottered around the house doing little jobs, read my book for a time and called a friend for a chat. No Wednesday lunch group as two are in New York, two are in Northern Ireland and the other two are in London for the Easter long weekend.

Decided not to get turkey for Easter Sunday dinner as we usually do, so steaks instead and if it`s nice out Tom will cook them out there on the grill.

Mid afternoon pot of tea time coming up 🫖

thus far today did: some cleaning, olaplex deep conditioning treatment for salon color tomorrow, first set of HB eggs for decorating & the above dumplings. They will go into the soup brewing later today for the ‘lil coming after school & into tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to it.

was browning up a leftover potato from the bacon I had made, both going into a requested frittata. No idea how but, the tater must’ve had moisture on it & a big splatter. I got a burn on wrist at over an inch square. Thank God I have RX for Silvadene cream from last burn (see a pattern here? Lol). It numbs it so well :)

the vaxx reallly did knock me on my butt. At least i planned for it lol. Good to here the sickie kiddos coming along too!

Charade - i never particularly associated navy with men Cobalt blue is trending for women this year. Pretty, doesn’t look great with my skin tone. does seem to be primarily in the more upscale stores, even there, very few basic Tshirts in that hue. I especially like navy mixed with white, especially for summer, bit of a nautical feeling. it’s considered a classic neutral (along with black, white & khaki). When i worked in corporate, my favorite suits were navy.

That is a nice looking ride for the Mr!
So, we headed out to Famous Footwear to get Mom a couple of pairs of sketchers slip on's. She saw the ad on TV and wanted some, so we ended up with 2 pair for her:)
They are saturating the airwaves. Do think a good idea for those who have issues getting those shoes upon their tootsies. My podiatrist forbid them for me, otherwise probably would’ve gotten a slip on pair. that style I do Ryka, which passed the dr’s ok
We shared a seafood platter then we both had steaks and they were very nice indeed
Yum, I’ve always wanted to order a seafood tower. Unfortunately, the only seafood the mr will eat is shrimp & lobster, leaving far too much for me to polish off
vinegar carrots.
Never heard of those, as in pickled?
Schumi, my house faces the neighbors house that was destroyed.
It only takes 10 seconds for me to cross the street from my sidewalk to their sidewalk
There house was totaled and the tear done will be two days from now
That’s sad, poor dog. That is also lightening fast that the insurance company gave the ok and they found a company to raise it so fast. Process seems to take months, if not longer here.
Ah, so you are in tornado alley too. We used to live in Tn. and I will never forget all those scary tornado reports and bad storms. We have storms here too, but we get snow storms in the winter. Take care!
We’ve had tornado warnings twice since those storms fired up. Did have damaging winds two weeks in a row, will settle for that. Today, holding our breath. Near 80 yesterday & today Until the front comes thru, supposedly violently late this afternoon. we have moved anything not anchored down into the sheds
The thing that looks like school paste to me is when people make country milk gravy to thick it looks like school paste yuck!!!!!!

We have a dish called Cornmeal Mush. It is very much like Polenta and is cooled and cut up and fried and served with syrup. I have only had it once and never again.
One thing my DH said when I married him was he never wanted see whatyou described…they called it Ho-cakes. His family ate often when the larder got bare before payday it seems.
Dh had an annoying day too. He ordered some new shoes that were supposed to arrive today. Yesterday he got a call from UPS. The box arrived at the local sorting facility, but was empty.
now, that’s a new one? Weird. I’ve been waiting for a pair of hey dudes to show up on my porch. Ordered from amazon, figured I’d try since nice discount. They were supposed to be here the next day, a week ago. tracking shows shipped once, then again, sitting in a warehouse-somewhere . Will give it until Monday then re-order I guess. That rarely happens with them for me.

have a good day all :)

A quick morning stop before I start the paper shuffle.

Quiet night last night. Both ds's are working out of town until tomorrow - so we are empty nesters for 2 days ::yes:: We were both so tired from not sleep the previous night. I knew dh would be wanting to go to bed extra early. I whipped up some supper quick - tossed a little of this with a little of that and came up with some sort of honey garlic chicken concoction over rice that was pretty tasty. I will definitely make that again, only add a few veggies into it as well.

We facetimed dd last night. She was picking up some antibiotics for gd and because we have ANOTHER shortage here, she had to find a compounding pharmacy to make it for her. Gd has to have one of her teeth removed, and they want to make sure she has no infections in her body before doing that. Poor thing...she fell last fall and knocked one out one front tooth. DD rushed her to an emergency dentist...they put the tooth back in, hoping it would still be ok - sadly it is not. They have to remove it now. So she will have a cute little tooth missing smile for a few years.

Dh went to bed early - I enjoyed my evening with the remote, checking on prices for flights for a late fall trip! I'm always in planning mode. It is what keeps me happy!!!!

I did a mini interview yesterday to move into the 0.6 spot on our desk from the 0.4. Hopefully it's just a " formality" for me to move into that spot - and get more hours at the healthcare job. I should hear by tomorrow as Friday is a holiday here. Crossing my fingers. It would be the absolutely perfect between the 2 places of work.

I miss her. But a full moon always gets me to laugh a little, as those full moon night stories my cousin told me over the years. Oh my is all I can say.
 Those are definitely treasured memories. I have always said that Hollywood couldn't make up some of the encounters I've had in retail/customer service. I would love to see a tv series focusing on the ridiculousness of situations experienced by retail and healthcare workers.
Did the police get involved?
No...sadly she didn't want to police involved " because he has a warrant out for his arrest" :sad2: :headache: DH told her that then she really should get the RCMP involved and that she needs to stay away from him. It was sad. We talked about her all night last night - hoping that she got back her family members who she was trying to call when I let her into our home. It is a sad reality for many people -and takes a mountain to strength to walk away from relationships where that happens.

Yikes....take care of that! Even those little burns can easily get infected.

Well, my teacup is empty - my signal for me to get shuffling some papers.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Charade:

I hope your burn is better. I will give you an old Southern minor burn remedy that really works. But it sounds stupid, so hang in there. When we lived in Tn., my husband had a minor burn on his arm which hurt like the devil. A local man told him that he got fire burns all the time from camp fires, and he had a sure fire remedy.
He told him to put toothpaste on the burn, but the regular kind, not the gel type and it would heal and take the pain away. Well, we have used that remedy for years now and it Works!!! It cools the burn immediately and helps healing. I use it for minor burns from cooking, ironing, curling iron and it cools it and takes the pain away right away. You don't need to glob it on, but just put a light film over the burn. When you get done laughing, you can try it, LOL.

My Mom has to have slip ons now so those shoes worked great for her. I tried a pair on and they were so comfortable, but I don't need any so I didn't buy them. I have a "thing" for shoes and have a lot of pairs of every kind of shoe:) When I complain about my husbands dozens of hats, he just points to my shoes and I shut up:)

I had ho cakes at a restaurant in our small Tn town. They were home made by some fabulous cooks, and I really liked them. They were perfect! I had never heard of them before, and would only go to their restaurant to get them. I still crave them to this day, but there is no such thing up here:(

I'll be glad when those storms move on and we get Spring. It will get here!

I hear you on that. We had some of those big fluffy snowflakes fall for about 30 minutes yesterday...and I though " Oh no, here comes more winter" But it stopped after 30 minutes.

We don't put the shovels away until the beginning of May. It is not unusual for us to have 1 or 2 more blasts of winter snow storms. I know that you know the snow I'm talking about. That wet, sloppy heavy snow that makes roads HORRIBLE to drive on. I'm waiting for that last snowfall to happen here yet.

Me too, can't wait for the last final snowfall.
It's really depressing to me to have snow storms in April!!! Last year we had 3 blizzards in April. What a downer.
We are going South to Tennessee in a couple of weeks to get out of this weather for a while, IF they aren't having tornadoes, sigh.................

Janet, the vinegar carrots we get at the bbq place we all like, are not pickled, but are a bit sour and just tender enough and warm. They used to be much more sour, but I guess enough complained, now they are just a little bit sour. They have great homemade sides, and wherever they are from the type of bbq they do, we all really like. Little one much likes their made catsup. I really their bbq sauce. Two local families own it.

Snow, that’s a no from me. DH actually mowed the grass yesterday. Time of year starting to see those mowers out. Last used around end of September, at the latest.

Ooh dollar dumplings day. I didn’t think I was hungry, but wolfed down 4 of them, and thought hmm, maybe still hungry. Most of the time I barely eat 4. Hehe, and in shorts today.

And Janet, stay safe with those storms. You’ll be sharing them with me tomorrow afternoon.

Lunchtime walk was nice. Not quite as warm as I thought, but still had my shades on, even if still a mostly cloudy sky. Was 65 degrees as I looked at my thermometer outside our door. Dumpling place is an about a 6 minute walk from our home. Nice to have some food places within a short walk in the main drag of my very little neighborhood.

So ready to be done, but hours more to go.

Enjoy your salon time tomorrow, I love a good conditioning treatment!! Like the sound of your soup, it`ll go down well!!

The seafood tower in Eddie V`s isn`t huge, you would be ok with that one as it isn`t the biggest, lobster, crab, shrimp and oysters.....enough for two where you can still comfortably eat your entree. However, the one in Ocean Prime and Oceanairre were both massive!!! You`d eat that and nothing else!!

Hope the worst of the weather misses you.

I`ve heard of putting toothpaste on a burn, we bring back Neosporin from the US as we don`t have it here, I swear it would grow back an arm if you lost one!! And many friends ask me continually to bring it back for them too.....along with those amazing Tide Pens......we love em over here!

Have to say Ho cakes don`t sound like something I`d like.....but what do I know....I eat haggis......lol......

Ended up popping out after all for an hour this afternoon to pick up some dollars they had ordered for us, it was so miserable and quite cold. Driving past the beach it was surprisingly busy, but mostly folks with their dogs to be fair.

Fish was lovely, decided against a sauce and it didn`t need it, lovely dish with some steamed veg and stir fried bok choy in a light sesame dressing. Very filling.

I did have a tiny corner of one piece of the flourless chocolate cake, I did leave a few pieces for Tom, I just like a tiny bit, it is so good! Kyle txt me to say it was very much appreciated by all!! Glad to hear it.

Time for tea and a mooch round Google Earth maps.....always interesting!!!! 👀

we bring back Neosporin from the US as we don`t have it here, I swear it would grow back an arm if you lost one!! And many friends ask me continually to bring it back for them too.....along with those amazing Tide Pens......we love em over here!
I bring back Excedrin. We don't have that here! That stuff is amazing for headaches/migrains. And yes....neosprin is great stuff. WE one that is similar here.

I have a friend who buys a nighttime sleep pill. We have a similar product here, minus the " good medication" that is in the ones in the US.

I wish we could drive back and forth. I would be hitting up Target and Trader Joes for food items that we just don't have here. People do that all the time, then sell those items for $$$.

Well...back to the paper shuffle.

We often joke our suitcases rattle coming home.....Tylenol, Aleve and similar are all stronger than what we can get and we can only buy 32 paracetemol tablets at the one time.....crazy!! If you really wanted to, you could wander back in and buy as many as you needed......but being able to buy 1000 at a time is quite illuminating!!

So many products that we can`t get OTC, some we need a script for, and it`s amazing to us you can just pick them up everywhere. That`s before we start on hair products/make up/Bath & Body/Yankee Candle and food items!!!

Those extra suitcases come in handy!!! But, we`d never sell them, I`m sure some do, but we just give them to folks who`ve asked for something and Neosporin is definitely a favourite!

Almost bedtime here.......and it`s still raining. Looks like it will be raining all day tomorrow too, so we`ll get most of what we need for the Easter weekend and avoid the stores Friday and Saturday, except on Saturday we`ll make a visit to the butcher to get the steaks for Sunday, no crowds there.

Hope your Wednesday has been a good one......:)

Taking a break. For this last class we are reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I have no idea how this relates to the class and I am bored out of my mind.

I am a little annoyed with the dining reservation process at DL. They only let you reserve for one day at a time. Today I could only reserve something for June 4. I hadn't planned on doing a reservation that day since we would just be getting to the resort and not doing any park time. I ended up reserving a dinner at a restaurant at the Grand Californian. I think dh just wants to see what the hotel looks like.

It must be very frustrating to deal with a boss like that who doesn`t seem to want to make things easy for you and as for the shoes!!! Well, that`s just super annoying.
She's almost 78 and will embrace some forms of technology, but not others. I don't get it.

was browning up a leftover potato from the bacon I had made, both going into a requested frittata. No idea how but, the tater must’ve had moisture on it & a big splatter. I got a burn on wrist at over an inch square. Thank God I have RX for Silvadene cream from last burn (see a pattern here? Lol). It numbs it so well
Ouch! Hope it heals quickly.

Charade - i never particularly associated navy with men Cobalt blue is trending for women this year.
I see navy more with men's clothing than women's. I guess the manufacturers think men prefer dark colors and women want brighter colors. I love cobalt blue. Perhaps I should go shopping.

now, that’s a new one?
Last year I had 2 weird shipments. One came to my town, then got sent to Roanoke, then to anther town in VA, and then finally made it to my house. The other package left Florida and went to California before being delivered to me.

Poor thing...she fell last fall and knocked one out one front tooth. DD rushed her to an emergency dentist...they put the tooth back in, hoping it would still be ok - sadly it is not. They have to remove it now. So she will have a cute little tooth missing smile for a few years.
Aww....thankfully a new one will come in.

No...sadly she didn't want to police involved " because he has a warrant out for his arrest"
All the more reason to get them involved. I hope she can get the help she needs and can stay far away from him. The daughter of a friend was in an emotionally abusive marriage for several years. She finally got the courage to leave him in November of 2019. She said that he never got physical with her, but she was worried about what might have happened if she had stayed and then they got cooped up together durning the lockdowns in 2020.

Hi Charade:

I hope your burn is better.
That was Keisha, not me. The quote feature sometimes does weird things here.

My Mom has to have slip ons now so those shoes worked great for her.
I embraced slip ons when they started making us take our shoes off in airports and haven't looked back.

Time to do some research and get some dinner. Or maybe I will get dinner then do research. I have an assignment due tomorrow.

Good news, the hey dudes showed up. Bad news, way they were sewn on top by back of heel immediately rubbed. Tried no show Sox, still could feel it. Back they go. What ever happened to quality control?

She was picking up some antibiotics for gd and because we have ANOTHER shortage here, she had to find a compounding pharmacy
That’s awful
did a mini interview yesterday to move into the 0.6 spot on our desk from the 0.4. Hopefully it's just a " formality" for me to move into that spot - and get more hours at the healthcare job. I should hear by tomorrow as Friday is a holiday here. Crossing my fingers. It would be the absolutely perfect between the 2 places of work.
Good luck!
Neosporin from the US as we don`t have it here,
I haven’t seen the brand name product since pandemic began. Even the generic has been difficult to secure.
So many products that we can`t get OTC
Don’t forget those Tide pens lol
I ended up reserving a dinner at a restaurant at the Grand Californian. I think dh just wants to see what the hotel looks like.
We’ve stayed there several times via DVC. Nice, view of the park. Really want to
Try to snag new DLH units if we get out there next year.

They used to have a great weekend character brunch at GC. Dinner one at DLH was ok. Love blue bayou just for the vibe.

Honestly, their CS are so good, I’m usually happy enough with them. Awesome fried chicken
and women want brighter colors. I love cobalt blue. Perhaps I should go shopping.
In the north it’s generally darker clothing fall to spring with accents of color. Combo of city grime practicality and usually foul weather have made most of us up our game as to finding great pieces. Come spring, Most do loosen up a bit though. Lighter weight clothing is thankfully more laundry friendly.

I just submitted my last discussion board post. All I need to do now id respond to 2 of my classmates posts and I never have to do another one of these stupid discussion boards again. I don't know anyone who thinks they are useful.

Good news, the hey dudes showed up. Bad news, way they were sewn on top by back of heel immediately rubbed. Tried no show Sox, still could feel it. Back they go. What ever happened to quality control?
That's a bummer. I have a friend who swears by them. They look like they would fit my wide feet, but I have not tried them yet.

We’ve stayed there several times via DVC. Nice, view of the park.
I would love to stay there or the Grand Floridian, but am too cheap to pay the price. We are staying at the Anaheim Hotel on this trip.

I think I will go watch The Mandalorian and then call it a night.

Eeek, it’s 60 degrees out now. Phone says rain chances in the wee hour of tomorrow, and when I wake up, should be 62 degrees. So increasing temp or about the same temp the whole night. Then from 4 pm to 8 pm tomorrow evening, phone says 30 to 50 percent chance of rain. Eh, at least I can dice roll and play those odds.

I’m getting ready for bed, like Charade.
Have stayed at both the GC and the Disneyland Hotel. We had fun at the GC, as walked into the hotel’s park entrance just to ride the water ride. Then we came back, to enjoy pool time. At DH, they couldn’t find our reservation, but luckily I had my paperwork showing I did. They gave us a park view room, with the fancy lighted bed frame, instead of the standard room I booked. Could see the kids going and coming from Downtown Disney, as had a high floor, with a large window. At GC, also had standard room. We overlooked the front of the hotel. Was a good thing, with parking across the street, as from my window could see, I had forgotten to shut the one car window.

Bed is calling. AC is running. Oh my, from 82 degrees the high tomorrow, to 60 the high Friday. No matter. Rain chance gone by late evening Thursday, and our train tickets ready for our Friday fun.

Hope all have a most restful night.

::yes::

Stayed in the house all day
89 for our high but a nice 72 inside with ac
We have had the ac off and on past few weeks

Sent Mr Mac to the grocery store as he tolerates the heat better than I do.
He is very good when it comes to buying meat and desserts.

When we lived up north it seemed like we only had two seasons
winter and the 4th of July
jk…

Tomorrow believe it will be lower 80’s
No rain for us yet but it will likely hit us tomorrow and Saturday if predictions come true.

I hope all the homies here are doing fine and have a great Friday!

When I did work, I lived for those two day weekends.
Now my every day is a Saturday…

She`s 78?? And still working....wow.

Yes, navy is a very popular ladies colour for sure, when I used to be in the work force a lot of my office suits were navy and you could accessorise them with brighter shirts, belts and so on and it is a very flattering colour.

Oh that sucks with the shoes! Yep, quality control seems to have gone out of the window.

There was loads of Neosporin in Walmart/Publix in September, it seems maybe it`s another of those regional misses....I didn`t exactly clear the shelves but I did get a funny look from the checkout operator and then there`s the Tide pens........now that one she did jokingly question as she put through about 8 packs of four pens........lol......I think she thought we must dribble food a lot!! When I explained we don`t have them in the UK and they were for friends she still looked at me a little odd. I don`t mind :-)

When I did work, I lived for those two day weekends.
Now my every day is a Saturday…

Isn`t it wonderful having a husband that can be trusted to do grocery shopping!!! Although Tom always comes back with exactly what I asked for, there are always extra goodies in the bags when we unpack them.......never extra veg......no, always goodies!!

I know you don`t miss that Northern weather.......hope the rain misses you unless the grass needs it of course. But, you have such lovely weather where you are now.

And yes, us ladies of leisure do enjoy every day feeling like a Saturday 😁

It`s still raining.

Our gardener keeps reminding us it`s good for plants, flowers, lawns and trees.......hmmm. Thank goodness he has a sunny disposition, he`s right of course but we`re ready for some more sunshine like we had earlier.

Planning an early shop today then avoid them till Monday, Easter weekend is always a crazy one! I have already picked up all the chocolate eggs I need for kids I do buy for and yes, Kyle still gets his too.......Tom too for that matter!!! Will give them out over the next couple of days.

If the rain by some miracle goes off later, we`ll head out for a walk, but not looking likely.

No idea what`s for dinner tonight yet, will have a think later but maybe something spicy and with chicken will work nicely.

Heard from our friends in New York this week......having a lovely time and yes, she did get to visit Tiffany and made a rather lovely purchase......I knew she wouldn`t copy what I got in September, as her sister once copied her with a fancy purchase so she know you don`t want to do that, but she did get some rather sparkly diamond earrings, they are beautiful.

I`ve never understood people who have to copy and mimic what others do, well, they can try, quite sad really, I`m glad I don`t have any friends like that.

They`re having dinner in The Pierre hotel tonight, gorgeous place to the side of Central Park, he is really pushing out the boat on this trip.

Happy Thursday.
