Something About Nothing............ #14

I am glad you went !

Hope you get answers and relief for what ails you

All of us are concerned about your health

Ohhh, you are so lucky to have a gardener this early! I am holding off thinking of Spring because we are having a major snow storm now. It is 22 degrees with snow and blowing wind - very hard blowing wind. That will bring the wind chill factor down. It is a good day to stay inside and watch a movie or read a book.

However, we are going out in all the wind and snow to my daughters for a birthday party for my husband, Roger! I tried to get her to postpone it, but she said " we are hardy Minnesotans and snow shouldn't bother us". Yeah, right! Try a blizzard. We have to pick up my Mom who is 10 miles away, and my daughter lives in a rural area about 10 miles from that. Lovely! I'm not looking forward to that at all. I guess I am still a Southerner at heart:)

I made the cake and Robin and Stephen are cooking fish which he just caught. Stephen is a fabulous cook and they always have interesting food. Robin is lucky that Stephen cooks, because Roger can't boil water. Good thing I love him:) and good thing he puts up with my "cooking".

have a good Saturday!

ruth

To be honest, we employ him all year round, he is a handyman too and we`ve known him a few years now....and him and Tom brew their own wine. It`s not what I would choose normally, but it is quite pleasant, he takes most of it to be fair. He`s a good guy and his name is Kyle so we do like him for that alone....lol....

Hope you have a lovely day for Roger`s birthday!!! Tell him from me....:bday:

Sounds like a good day with some good food, yes, it is nice having a husband who cooks!!! Tom is a decent cook although I tend to take over being honest.

Your weather sounds atrocious!!! Hope the drive is a good one and you get your mum and get to your daughters safely.....have fun!!

Current situation: Getting checked at immediate care.

Hope all goes well Charade and they can pinpoint what`s wrong with you.

Been a gorgeous day, sun has shone all day and it`s been lovely with the sun seeping in to all the rooms.

Ordered our Thai food, it`ll be here in about 40 minutes now, we`ll be ready for it, I`m quite hungry now to be fair, so popped out some chips and dip to keep us going. Still haven`t decided which movie we`ll watch tonight, but going to watch Chris Rock`s live show on Netfix first.

Time for glass of cabernet I think........🍷

note to self
spring forward tomorrow

Your clocks go forward tonight??? I always thought you were the week after us, but seems not.

We move forward on the 26th of this month, so we have two weeks before we lose an hour. I`m not bothered with the time change at all....but I can make up that hour anywhere if I do feel it, and I usually don`t anyway....lady of leisure....... ::yes::

We have 2 winners: bronchitis and strep throat. They also did a Covid test, but send those out. What a way to start spring break.

Ack Charade. Both are icky to have. Hope you do get the right meds to heal hopefully quickly. Sending lots of mummy dust well wishes your way. How fun to shop for gowns this coming weekend.

Yep, EDT starts tomorrow for us. At least will be lighter in the evening when we go to NYC next month.

Errands done, fancy burgers, chicken fingers and fancy sides from our local, mainly burgers place. All are more than full from a big lunch. We like supporting our local food places.

Rain has gone, and birds are now singing their songs. One bird, saying did a did a do over and over.

If sky is clear enough this early evening, we should see the rocket launched from VA. Saying to look for it moving across the sky from 6 to 8 pm where I am. I think Keisha also may get to see it later then me this evening if she has clear skies.

English football over, but French on now. Like watching the soccer teams. And now a new cup of tea.

Howdy all:wave2:

busy week here, got a couple of tax returns done, medical appointments crossed off, most of my Easter baskets stuff in hand (yes, the DH & adult children still get them here 🐇 I’m of the any excuse to give some joy sort Lol.

managed to get some online summer wardrobe shopping started. cheated and bought same bathing suit as last year in a different color/pattern. The mr surprised me, always wears new balance athletics. He was happy to receive a pair of the Hey Dudes Wally They do look comfy, might have to look into them for around the house myself

woke up to a bit of snow on ground this AM. We’ve been so lucky there this season. Just enough to make me think to make some beef veggie soup, perfect for this sort of day.

Ruth - when somebody from MN says the weather is bad, you listen lol drive safe & have a wonderful evening celebrating the mr!

robbie - when my youngest DS was bit by fire ant as a child, we were shocked how bad & painful his leg looked. Dr’s in the ER back at home said, those who didn’t grow up around them never had a chance to develop a tolerance to them. Also told flying home with it was bad idea. Ooops. Hard to believe such a tiny insect can cause such misery.

carole you’ve met some very interesting people in your day! All i meet are characters;)

have met 3 Doctors: Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, and Sylvester McCoy.
I initially read that as Peter Davidson…you know, the dude from SNL who dates all the celebs
Have a wonderful Thursday!!!
Aw, the pooches in that pic being scolded by the parrot are Keeshonds. had three of them over the years, even a litter of puppies. Such sweet dogs, they are know for their “smile”.
We have 2 winners: bronchitis and strep throat. They also did a Covid test, but send those out. What a way to start spring break.
Strep throat is nothing to sneeze at…no pun intended. Should feel better after a day or two of antibiotics. Be well. I’m still stuffy after my round of them re sinus. Thinking it’s now seasonal allergies. Whee, spring is just ‘round the corner.

I just hope I’m better by next weekend. I told B we would go shopping for graduation dresses.

Bless you, hope you feel better soon and yes, hope you get to go look for graduation dresses.

Glad to see you back my friend!!!

You have had a busy week…..your soup sounds lovely as always. And you got some nice buys and what a lovely thing you still do Easter baskets. We do it to a smaller degree, especially with friends grands, but you do it so well.

Yes, I’ve been lucky in life to meet some amazing people, some better than others and some I’ve managed to avoid meeting! Now characters I love, as long as they have a genuine personality.

Parrots…….hmmm. Less said soonest mended. :rotfl:

sigh.

Yep, IYKYK. Ignore button……but, it’s there to be used. It’s enough now.

Watched The Clovehitch Killer tonight, it was an ok movie, then watched Chris Rock on Netflix, he is funnier than I thought! And very astute, only one part I wasn’t keen on, but he was funny.

Thai food was beautiful…….hot, sweet and spicy……we ordered three entrees one being a whole sea bass and all were delicious. I was surprised how light and perfectly cooked the fish was, other dishes were a chicken and a seafood one all complemented with some coconut rice and Thai salads.

Second bottle of wine was opened tonight, both were lovely.

Lazy day planned tomorrow…….:)

Yikes! No. I cannot imagine him as The Doctor.
Strep throat is nothing to sneeze at…no pun intended. Should feel better after a day or two of antibiotics.
I just found out that my prescription won’t be ready until tomorrow.

We are supposed to have some snow tomorrow. I don’t think there will be accumulation though.

No, he`s not quite the type is he!

Hopefully once you get the meds in you, you`ll feel much better, hope you managed to get some sleep last night.

Me neither! It will always be this guy for meView attachment 745604

Tom Baker/Jon Pertwee for me, it was a show you never missed as a child when they were the Doctors, after they left I think I had outgrown it.

But, David Tennant, although I still never watched it, Tom did though, seemed to encapsulate everything the Doctor should be. I still haven`t watched him in the Litvinenko drama yet, he is supposed to be excellent in it. Wait, I did watch the Blink, Weeping Angels episodes and enjoyed that.

Have they announced who the next Doc is going to be, I haven`t kept up, I hope it`s back to being a man as Dr Who should be.

No, Bemidji, or as we call it, Brrrmidji, LOL

lol......

Looks a mixed day here today so far, we had brilliant sunshine when I got up, but now it`s just grey cloud and threats of rain......but it`s better than snow! I`m not going out anywhere today so I`m not bothered what the weather is.

Had a wonderful sleep last night, although to be fair I always sleep well, and instead of getting up when I woke up, turned over and went straight back to sleep, that`s always lovely to do.

We are doing Eggs Benedict this morning with some bacon and fruit, lunch will be light and I`m doing some huge short ribs for dinner tonight. I popped them in the slow cooker this morning after they marinaded overnight in ale, stock and herbs, they`ll simmer away all day and should fall to bits and be so tender when they`re done, will serve mashed potatoes, carrots and cauliflower with them, mash as there will be a gorgeous gravy!!

But, a quiet day again for us which is always nice of course anyone can drop in at any time in this house, and that`s nice too, my friends and I all have an open house policy with each other, always welcome.

Have a wonderful Sunday ::yes::

David Tennant is awesome in anything he does. He is such a good actor. I wasn’t able to watch him in Jessica Jones. His character was just too creepy for me. I did watch a few episodes of Duck Tales though.
Have they announced who the next Doc is going to be, I haven`t kept up, I hope it`s back to being a man as Dr Who should be.
They chose an actor named Ncuti Gatwa. I don’t know anything about him. I’m just excited to see David Tennant come back for a few episodes.

Ah a Sunday morning it is. And I’m up early, even with the time change at the same time as I’m always up. Was so tired yesterday, after another restless bedmate the night before. Hence, an early bedtime for me. Guess that’s why I’m up so early now. Or, generally, no matter when I go to sleep, I’m up early anyway.

And what a clear night this morning does. Yep, below freezing we are. And a beautiful clear sky, with the clouds a coming starting at sunrise. And so, a nice view from inside right now. High is 45 degrees, so I’ll take that. Particularly when the high on Tuesday is 39 degrees, and saying may see some snow then. Will have to bundle up to get those tacos then.

But as all Sundays not followed by a holiday Monday, it’s the drag the trash cans to the curb day. And alarm set, as so is the correct time on the clock radio next to my bed.

And a visit to my sister today. She always likes to have another opinion on decor choice as she is updating. Always nice to see her, as we both are busy most days.

And that’s our Sunday. A get ready for a rainy Monday, and the week day routines, as always happy to see a Friday.

Hope all have a super relaxing Sunday.

I apparently did know and forgot they had announced it. Tom said he told me when it came out, never heard of him.

DT is a very good actor, he was in a highly acclaimed drama over here, I didn`t watch it due to the subject matter, but everyone said it was fabulous as was he.

And of course quite funny he`s married to Peter Davison`s daughter Georgia.

It’s snowing.

Enjoy it from inside, don`t be going out building a snowman.....☃️.

Turned out to be a nice day after all, sun was shining when it was supposed to rain, although it is getting cloudy now, not sure how long it`ll be till we get rained upon and apparently 40+ mph winds tonight into tomorrow. Joy.

Got mum`s Mother`s Day flowers ordered for next Sunday and have a birthday hamper ordered for Thursday being sent directly to her full of teas and goodies she likes, just need to get her cards and a couple of other cards for this week and next and I`m sorted.

Beef ribs smell amazing!!!

Time for a freshly made pot of tea......😁

One of the best!

Mr Eccleston was excellent in his lone season, got a bit too big for his britches & went off to become a star…how’s that working out for him? Lol

ironic, but I think this actor-David Bradley (many who don’t enjoy The Doctor should recognize him from the HP franchise) did an excellent job portraying the 1st doctor-William Hartnell Such a solid character performer!

No offense to Carole, I really hope his accent isn’t as thick as Peter Capaldi. We spent a good portion of his years, rewinding our tv feed to catch the dialogue at times. Great job otherwise tho. Nice to see somebody of a certain age in the role.
It’s snowing.
Thinking of The Doctor, i just cannot resist…
