Something About Nothing............ #14

Quick hello. Another slow day at work and I don’t have any school work to do.
sweet dreams charade and hope you feel better in the morning.

Sounds like your body is telling you to slow down a little, sleep is the best thing, hope the fever doesn`t turn into anything more.

Hope your temp went down, and had a good night’s sleep.

Thanks Mac, Schumi, and Lynne. Today I am coughing. I took a covid test yesterday and it was negative. I have no other symptoms except the cough.
And of course the wonderful Tom Baker when I was a child with his Book Tower show.
That’s so cool. I have met 3 Doctors: Jon Pertwee, Peter Davison, and Sylvester McCoy.

Friend across the street called me yesterday evening and she was in a panic. She was supposed to go pick up her daughter and granddaughter from MCO and she got bit by a Fire Ant and she developed a terrible rash on her foot, leg, back etc…
Hope she is doing better today.

All the kids who never saw albums think they`re hilarious!!
I remember explaining a record album to B. My brother still has some. He even has some 78s.

A little less than an hour left before I go home. I might nap again.

Hope the cough has cleared by now and you`re doing better, it`s so hard to sleep properly when you have a cough.

I remember the first time Kyle saw our albums......he said that`s a big CD......lol.....I was so glad I had kept all my albums when I got the retro record player although we don`t use it everyday, it`s nice to have the option.

We have a mini winter wonderland this morning. It started snowing last night but it`s not laying yet, it looks more like hailstones covering the lawns and everything in our view, very pretty but freezing out there!!

We do have to go out this morning, we have some groceries to pick up and I have some clothes I ordered to pick up too although not confident they`ll suit me and might have to return them, but we`ll see how they feel.

Got one of our friends popping in for lunch, she`s in our area through her work, so told her lunch will be ready to suit her, it`ll be a quick lunch, cuppa and back out again, but nice to see her anytime and she`s super easy to feed as she likes everything. Although like us she does hate hummus.......bleurgh!! I don`t think anyone in any of our groups likes it as it`s never on any of our choices when we`re out at each others homes.

Doing a chicken tray bake for dinner tonight, chicken thighs cooked with all the veg including some baby potatoes in the one oven tray, cover with some herbs and spices and let it all bake away together, will make a light red wine gravy to serve with it I think.

But, will be wrapped up warm going out this morning, this is not my favourite weather regardless of how pretty it looks.

Have a wonderful Thursday!!!

Ah Thirsty Thursday is here. And I’m having my tea. In a just below freezing early morning. Another full day of sun, with now a bit better, as 51 degrees is the high today.

Oh Charade, I hope you are feeling better today. Even if not the virus, not fun to not be feeling well. Sending well wish mummy dust to you.

Ack, Schumi still having winter weather. I hope you get warmer weather soon.

Tomorrow, and Saturday, we are warm enough for rain, just North of me, gets snow. Many townships are saving money as snow plows and salt treatments have not been used, almost never this winter so far.

Thus, hope all enjoy this Thursday, as Friday tomorrow. Woot!

I would be content to deal with rain than with snow

Completely agree, rain is so much better than snow and usually warmer too!!

Ended up a mish mash of sleet and rain today, mostly rain but still cold. I think the snow may have passed us by.

Picked up our groceries, visited our butcher and then popped in to pick up the three dresses and a tee for Tom I had ordered. Think they`ll be ok for our trip, then came home and prepared a mini buffet lunch for my friend, choices of little sandwiches, mini quiches that I bought from the deli, not home made today, deli meat platter, salad and coleslaw. She is a carb fiend.....loves bread and yes, she is slim!!! She stayed a little longer than we thought so we got a good catch up with her and yes, lots of freshly made pots of tea, nothing worse than tea that`s been sat for too long.

Dinner will be nibbling on the quiche that`s left and some salad, not really hungry right now.

Rain is quite heavy so I`m glad we`re in with nowhere to go.

Time for a fresh pot of tea again........

Quick hello. I am still not feeling well. The cough persists and my temperature is a little high. I cancelled the dental appointment I had for tomorrow.

I think I'm going to do a lot of nothing this weekend.

That’s a good idea, Charade. Take it easy the next couple of days, rest as much as you can, and keep hydrated. I hope whatever you have, goes away soon. Sending more of those well wishes mummy dust down to you.

Well, what does little one like? Soup and grilled cheese are us. With pickles too. Yay, as I like that for dinner sometimes.

Alarm is off, and even though I know I will be up early tomorrow, I can relax as I sip my tea. Little one wants to go to the big mall tomorrow. Sounds good, as never as crowded on a week day, then the weekends. Mostly younger kids, with care giver, and senior citizens are mostly what are what I usually see on my week day off routine days.

And so, a quiet enough night. Seeing what is either back room noise or interesting show on the smaller tv I have. Ah, lazy starting already. Though this Monday will be the hardest. Second day to be up an hour later than on Saturday. At least we are getting ever longer days until toward the end of June.

I think I'm going to do a lot of nothing this weekend.

Spend your weekend resting and have your husband take care of you, let him do everything for you, plenty of liquids and some tlc and of course if you need some meds, take them. Hope you feel better.

Came back to say the porch light is on until midnight.
See you in the morning.

I doubt I`d have seen any light last night, out for the count again......hope you slept well.

Wind howled the whole night.....or so I`m told. It was howling when I fell asleep, and still going this morning, Tom said he was amazed I didn`t wake up with it......still no snow as forecast, just a little flurry but still more rain than anything for us.

So, no plans to go out today at all. We don`t need anything so looking at the weather outside we`re in the right place.

Quiet weekend ahead too. We were invited to a birthday party on Saturday night, but we`ll pass and have a cosy night in just the two of us, maybe order some Thai food and watch a movie with a nice bottle of wine.

Today, some housework, I made chicken noodle soup yesterday so that`s for lunch and will bake some focaccia to go with that. And dinner tonight is lasagne, I remembered to buy fresh lasagne sheets yesterday and I made the meat and sauce last night, so just the cheese sauce topping to make tonight before layering it up. Bottle of red wine, some salad and maybe have some garlic and rosemary focaccia left over from lunch.

Lazy breakfast in an hour or so, but for now.......tea.

Have a fabulous Friday 🍹

Ah that awesome Friday feeling, particularly when I’m lazy.

Weather. Yes we are still in Winter. Hence, it’s overcast, and it’s at freezing right now. Phone says flurries in 45 minutes. But they won’t last. Then as the late afternoon is to be in the low 40’s, the wet that’s coming from this Northern clipper, will give us some cold feeling rain, about a half an inch before that quick stormy weather moves on in the late evening. With only more rain to come in the wee hours of tomorrow. And wet week coming up. Saying rainy Saturday, rainy Monday, and some snowy days Wednesday and Thursday. Ack, we will be in the low 40’s highs, with even a 38 degree high in there too. But that cold weather is gone by the end of next week.

Yay, by a week later’s Friday, will put us in the low 50’s again. Well March either comes in like a lion, or ends like one. And if comes in like a lion, like this March, should be like a lamb as it ends. At least that is what I am hoping. That much warmer Spring weather is what I am looking forward to.

And so, with little one heard in the hours after midnight, I doubt we will get moving to the mall that early, and probably will get a late lunch there. There’s a place she likes to eat at, that we don’t have close. And she usually orders their chicken. I like their food too, their tots are tasty, as well as their melty sandwiches. And that Guy chef that has his own chicken take out restaurants, we will not have to be on a Carnival ship to try it. He’s opening one in May in that big mall. Maybe we will try it after it opens. Interesting, not too far from us, as we were looking for a newly opened Starbucks, saw a Raising Cane restaurant newly opened next to it. Little one is a picky chicken eater. She did not like the batter they used on their chicken. I thought it was fine, but it did taste like some buttermilk was used. Hence I know why she didn’t like the batter on her chicken fingers. We did eat at the Guy shop on our Carnival cruise, but burgers were on the menu there. So maybe we will try his new chicken shop in the mall in a few months.

And so, a very happy homie having that lazy day Friday. Hope all are having a lazy day Friday today. And give a woot! Weekend is coming up tomorrow. Yay!

Oh an a good morning to all too.

ULTRA lazy, lazy day in the end.......:rotfl:

Do I win for being the laziest today 👻

Yep, didn`t do much at all except make some lunch which involved baking some focaccia with garlic and rosemary from the garden this morning to go with our chicken noodle soup, and then one of my goddaughters came to spend the afternoon as she`s visiting her family in the area, she`s only here for five days so I was glad to see her.

We ended up watching Grease.....haven`t seen it a long time, and it`s one of her favourite movies. She was always the blonde who played Sandy in school/college productions of the film, we had a laugh watching it, with me reminiscing of going to the cinema to watch it with friends back then!! Not with her mother, as I didn`t know her then, but I think we`d have been trouble together if we had known each other!!

Will bake the lasagne later, we`re nowhere near hungry yet, but it is only 5pm......sun is out, skies have cleared and rain/sleet has gone. It`s cold though.

Hope Pumpkin checks in soon, gave her a shout out on Monday I think.....hope she had fun!!!

And a very good Saturday morning from a sunny (almost) UK.

We have 24F right now, looks beautiful but chilly out there. Our gardener is coming this morning to do a few things, still not able to mow the lawns yet as they are still too wet but hopefully by the end of the month they`ll get done properly, they do look a bit untidy right now.

Will have his tea and a roll with bacon for him when he arrives, then we`ll have our breakfast after that. Busy morning with one thing and another then not much for the rest of Saturday afternoon and evening.

Going to order Thai food tonight and watch some movie or other and sup on some nice wine.

Hope Charade is doing better.....feeling poorly is not good!

Have a super Saturday 😁

Ah the rain is still here. Drizzling out right now. At just above freezing, but not by much. 36F degrees said my outside temperature. Cold rain. That’s for sure. At least early weather news said should be clearing by lunchtime. And thankful not only above freezing, but just some light rain most of the morning.

And that’s okay. I doubt will be out in the early morning anyway. What I need to do can be later in the morning. Have some errands to do, including a pick up. What a Saturday is usually for us. Lazy enough one. Though older one works most weekends.

Thus, us couple are both up early. DH was restless again, so a nap may be late afternoon or early evening. Sigh. But at least with the time change in the wee hours of tomorrow, up not as early is okay with no need to having to get up early tomorrow. Clock will be set tomorrow, and alarm too.

And so, coffee for him, tea for me. And he won’t need to get our lawnmower out until probably sometime in late May. Our grass is still dormant, even with all the rain that’s been falling lately. And while we picked up some bulbs and seeds to plant, neither being done until probably late April. When weather is not going to have freezing or close to freezing nights, and the ground starting to be softer as we get into May. So I am looking forward to seeing those flower colors and greens. Mostly now, still gray and browns, though did see some wild daffodils out. So pretty yellow as we drove by the still much more bare woody area.

Spring is coming, with the Easter bunny coming earlier this year. Woot!

Thus, big tv to entertain me, as English football should be on in another hour. Nice they have early afternoon games. I do like watching sports on the weekends. Today is traditionally college ball games. Sometimes I watch those too. And football games from France, Italy and Turkey all can be viewed where I live. So shortly, a live sport game will be on. But now, repeats, infomercials, and live news. What most early mornings’ programming is.

Thus, background noise on the tv, and enjoying some company before he leaves shortly too. As long as his mum is alive, he’s being a good son.

Super stupendous Saturday. Hope Charade is feeling better today. And still relaxing, and keeping hydrated. And hope Pumpkin comes back to say how awesome a time she had in Vegas.

Ooh I need more water in my teapot. One of those mornings. Sweet one though.

Have a super Saturday 😁
Ohhh, you are so lucky to have a gardener this early! I am holding off thinking of Spring because we are having a major snow storm now. It is 22 degrees with snow and blowing wind - very hard blowing wind. That will bring the wind chill factor down. It is a good day to stay inside and watch a movie or read a book.

However, we are going out in all the wind and snow to my daughters for a birthday party for my husband, Roger! I tried to get her to postpone it, but she said " we are hardy Minnesotans and snow shouldn't bother us". Yeah, right! Try a blizzard. We have to pick up my Mom who is 10 miles away, and my daughter lives in a rural area about 10 miles from that. Lovely! I'm not looking forward to that at all. I guess I am still a Southerner at heart:)

I made the cake and Robin and Stephen are cooking fish which he just caught. Stephen is a fabulous cook and they always have interesting food. Robin is lucky that Stephen cooks, because Roger can't boil water. Good thing I love him:) and good thing he puts up with my "cooking".

have a good Saturday!

ruth
