hubby is deploying next week and we I am taking my daughter (toddler) and neice (17) to disney world for a week to help with the first few days my husband is gone. I know I have my neice to help, but back when i made reservations she didn't know if she coudl go (i made the reservations about 2 weeks ago now very last minute, but i had expireing DVC points from a small contract we purchaed so accomidations were "free", military ticket, and quick service dining quite "cheap" as far as disney goes). I would still be going even if my neice couldnt i really think it will help my daughter alot with that initial time that daddy is gone she understands he is leaving but to sit here and watch him drive a way it would be very hard so we are leaving a bit before he does (he has also said he doesn't want to drive away with us still in the house as it will be too hard since i am pregnant and he will miss the babys birth he thinks if we are still there he won't be able to leaveAnyway, it would be a nice upbeat thing for the children since dad is gone so much if you can afford it why not? you have to take opportunities as the arrise.
Sorry about your husband's upcoming deployment. It's not an easy road! My husband left for Iraq when our youngest was just a few months old and we only had 10 days' notice he was leaving. It was a hard year. Best of luck to you.

Right now daddy is gone, and I am planning a trip for MNSSHP, but I am worried about the money, and nothing else. DH is the one telling me to go, not to worry about anything since we went last year to it at DL and had a blast.
With that said and reading your updated post, I am really jealous and wish I could be going to WDW in 2 days!!!!!
Hope you can squeeze a few extra dollars out of those paychecks and plan your trip for MNSSHP. We went a few years back and really had fun. Hope your husband comes home soon!

I told a friend today that I'm alternately
and
about this trip, but as it gets closer, I'm getting more and more excited! Last night I typed up a note from Mickey to my youngest saying how much he (Mickey) missed my son and would he like to come visit? I put it in an envelope marked "Special Delivery" and left it in the hallway near our front door, partially under the entry rug. I made an excuse for my son to go to the foyer this morning and had him "find" the envelope. He opened it and looked at it and I said, "who's it from?" and he knew it was from Mickey (the Mickey clip-art at the top gave it away, I'm sure!). My older son read it to him and I asked him when he wanted to go to Disney World and he said, "TODAY!!"
!Thanks again for all the encouragement and votes of confidence!

Anyway, it would be a nice upbeat thing for the children since dad is gone so much if you can afford it why not? you have to take opportunities as the arrise.
