started making the candies for the gift bags for my husbands co workers..he's the manager of the store..and I have to make bags for 10 people..so far have made pretzel crunch, fudge, kahlua fudge, walnut fudge, tkyes caramels, rocky road bark and chocolate covered pretzels..tomorrow I am making biscotti, peppermint bark, peanut butter fudge, cinnamon graham popcorn, and meringue kisses..
I got a little too over eager..someone stop me..please?..lol!

I know the feeling. I finally stopped because I was sick of my kitchen being a wreck.

In the past 4 days I have made gingerbread cookies, a triple recipe of sugar cookies (which still need to be frosted and decorated), carmels, peanut butter fudge, candy cane cookies, choc chip cookies dip in decorations, PB cookies, heath bars, oatmeal cookies, and carmel popcorn crunch.

There was still more I had planned but I'm tuckered out and I give up.

the peppermint patties I tried didn't work..they wouldn't firm up to roll into balls..and then melted again when I tried to dip them..that recipe went in the garbage..along with the candy..lol!
WDWmom..would you share your recipe for the caramel popcorn crunch?...may want to try that NEXT YEAR!..too tired this year..and I agree...the kitchen looks like a whirlwind came thru it..even though I use the CAYG method (clean as you go)...somehow I always miss something!

I tried the clean as you go method and all it got me are chapped hands from wahing all the dishes sooooo many times. I have spent today trying to find my countertop. Almost there.

The carmel popcorn thing is really

Chewy caramel candy popcorn squares


Combine the following in a large bowl and then set aside:

8 cups of popcorn (one bag of microwave)
2 cups honey graham cereal
1 cup red and green M & M
1 cup pretzel sticks


In a 2 qt. sauce pan melt 1/2 cup of butter over med heat. Stir in 1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
2 Tbsp of flour
Stir occasionally until mixture comes to a full boil (2-4 minutes)

Pour carmel mixture over popcorn mixture and toss to coat. Press firmly into buttered 13x9 pan. Cool and cut.

These are really good except I do not like the chocolate and popcorn together, doesn't taste right. It does look festive though.
