I have stayed at the Swalphin and it was a fantastic resort. Bluezoo and Shula's have excellent food. It isn't too far a walk to Flying Fish. All great food with nice ambience.

If you don't mind having a less flexible reservation and don't mind not having daily mouse keeping, you may want to check into renting DVC points. If you decide to stay at AKL (or any Deluxe w/ DVC rooms) you could save a decent amount off of the rack rate.

I prefer to rent points. We booked AKL for 4 nights in December (Sunday-Thursday) for under $800. There is so much more I can do with the extra money I saved.
