Did you have a model that you worked from? Or were your layouts completely original? I tend to do best with editing something, not so much from scratch. If you had a model, I'd appreciate knowing what it was so I could check it out. Also, do you recall how many hours it took you to do it?

They are all completely original. My best guess is about 40 hours. I don't have any photos, but I do have another one for a friend who is married that I am making it for. She got married before I was into scrapbooking. When would you need to make yours by. I would be happy to email a few photos of that book.

This doesn't have to do with vacationing, but just in general a way I control the urge to spend. If I find myself REALLY wanting to buy something - drooling over catalogs, perusing eBay/etsy, checking the bank account 12 times just in case extra money should magically appear in it, lol - instead I go "play with" the things I already have. I collect dolls, so I will literally go play with the ones I have instead of buying something new for them. But I think you can apply this to any hobby or interest. If you are jonesing for new clothes (not needing anything, just wanting) just spend some time going through your closet - you'll probably find things in there you forgot you had, so they'll be almost like new. ;) Last fall I kept saying I wanted new brown boots because mine were so worn looking. I was having trouble finding any that I liked, and just so happened that the heel broke on one of my old ones. So I took them in to get the heels fixed; the guy asked me if I wanted them shined too, so I said sure. When I picked them up the next day I swear they looked like new boots. (I'd tried to shine them myself but I guess shoe shining is not my calling because I could never make much improvement to them.) So now I am perfectly happy with my 8-year-old boots and have no desire to buy new ones. I think I spent less than $20 for the new heels & shine and now I will get many more years of wear out of these.

That's just one example but I think you get the point. Try to enjoy what you have instead of always wanting more.

The wedding ceremony is the weekend following Thanksgiving. But it's likely that I will see them again at Christmas, so I COULD still give them a wedding gift then. But it would be nicer to get it done and not feel like I have, yet one more, project hanging over my head. I would love to see the pictures you have.

A grateful heart is always more satisfied. This is a good word. I've been grateful for big things (like DH's job, the fact that we have a house, a good school, a good neighborhood, working cars) but I haven't just taken the time for the little things. Instead I admit that I have been feeling overwhelmed with all my stuff, definitely NOT grateful and happy to have stuff. I could use an attitude adjustment there.

I don't have any photos of the ones I gave away. I don't know when I will start the next one. We have a very busy end of the year ahead of us.
