I have both the Canon Rebel film and XT.
In the Rebel film, I know that you can change both the shutter speed and aperture. First you go into AV mode, change the aperture and then move into M and change the shutter speed. The aperture will be what you made it in AV mode.
But now in my XT, I can't seem to do that. When I go into AV mode, it changes the aperture and SS. Plus, no matter what I put it on (3.5 let's say), and I go back to M mode, it's 5.6. I thought it was maybe my kit lens - 5.6 was the biggest I could get, so it stayed on that. But now that I have a 3.5-5.6, that theory doesn't hold true.
So first, tell me what's going on and second, tell me how I can be in control of aperture and SS.
