Somebody's Gonna Pee in a Cup, West Coast - Link to new TR 1/21

What an awesome upgrade! Sharon sounds like a fantastic CM. So sweet she gave your DD a flower. :flower3:

Have a great trip and safe travels this weekend! Hope your back cooperates! Don't forget to get up and walk around on the flight.

Jill in CO

Following along! Sorry to hear about your back, I hope you feel better for your trip...

First off, thanks for the concerns about the back. As of right now, I'm a little bit better. I have full range of motion back and I can walk as I normally would without being in a lot of pain. But the bad news is, there is still pain. It is just being numbed by the medications and it is more like discomfort now. Today is my last day being on the full strength prednisone. I'm to start taking lighter doses to wean myself off and Tuesday will be my last one. I'm really nervous as to what will happen at that point, because I really feel like it is helping me more than the muscle relaxer. I don't notice too much difference in how things feel when I take one of those.

Glad you're feeling better. You can always replace the prednisone with beer and see if that does the trick. And for heaven's sake, don't fold any t-shirts!

I'm really feeling old though. I've had back injuries before, but it has always been a case where I'm sore all day, take some Advil before bed and I wake up feeling fine. Having this one still linger a week later is kind of getting me down.

Say it with me: GET OFF MY LAWN!!!

Seriously, it'll get better. I firmly believe you'll have no problems on the trip.

Enjoy DL! I think you'll find what we did: it feels more cramped and crowded than WDW (summer crowds didn't help). But many of the rides are actually better there.

We headed into the building, and I’ll admit. I was blown away. I took a few seconds to take in the details of the sketches on the wall. They really did a great job with this resort.

It does look pretty cool!

Would you be interested in a complementary upgrade?

No, I'd like the crappiest room possible.

We had to show her where MiL and FiL were. She walked down to the CM assisting them to get everyone on the same page, and within a matter of minutes, we were checked in and we got the Cars Suite that we really wanted all along. I couldn’t have been happier!

Score! That's fantastic! Sharon sounds wonderful.

DD wasn’t happy because she didn’t get one, so we ended up buying an extra for her. Spoiler alert: Complete waste of money. But at least they love to use them at home, so I guess it is ok.

For $47 or whatever it is, she'd better use it at home.

Here are some of the pictures she took:

Um… yeah, that’s right. She didn’t.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Our FP+ window opened up at 4:25, I think and we were going to meet up at 3:30 to leave. Plenty of time to get there and get into the show...

Uh oh. My foreshadowing detector just started beeping.

What a beautiful family. Love that the kids wanted pictures in front of the Cars guys constantly. Can't wait to read more!

I'm glad to hear the back's feeling a little bit better. I hope it continues to get better and that you can make it through the trip okay (even with the lower dose of prednisone).

The details at AoA really are incredible. It's my favorite resort for that reason - there are so many incredible details. We found some things on our second trip there that we missed the first time - so if you go back, expect to see some things you missed on this trip! Disney really did an amazing job with AoA.

I love that the CM gave your DD a rose ... so sweet!

Cars suite upgrade ... awesome! Don't get me wrong, I love the Little Mermaid rooms, but who would say no an upgrade?

I'm not a big fan of the mugs (I just don't see the point), so I'm not surprised that you thought it was a waste of money. I'm glad they're at least still using them.

I love all the pictures! I've never seen inside the Cars room before - it looks so fun. I especially like the view from your room - you have a great view of Lightning McQueen's backside.

Once we got to our rooms, FiL and I hauled all the luggage in. We had about an hour to get showers and unpack before we headed to the Studios. We had FP+ for the Frozen sing-along that was to start at 4:55. Our FP+ window opened up at 4:25, I think and we were going to meet up at 3:30 to leave. Plenty of time to get there and get into the show...

Really? You left an hour after you told your wife that you wanted to leave, and you thought meeting up 55 minutes before the FP+ window was going to work?
Okay then, I guess we'll just have to see if you were right ...

Enjoy Disneyland! If you guys liked the Cars section at Art of Animation, I'm sure you'll love Cars Land, the details there are pretty incredible too.

I hope this clears EMH up for you. This is the link from DLR website.

https://disneyland.disney.go.com/hotel-benefits/

So as long as you have your room keys along with your tickets you can get in.
Remember EMH is only good for resort guests at DCA. It will be less crowded then DLR which is open to anyone who buys the appropriate tickets.

You are on a weird week that Thursday and Fri EMH parks are switched. Usually dLR is Thurs and DCA is Fri.

Thanks. I'm looking into these options. I did see something somewhere too, about the USS Midway, and it is close to our hotel. I think DS and I would love that, but I'm not sure about DW.

I didn't weigh in on this before but OH the Midway was amazing. Jeff and I went in Oct and could have stayed longer than we did for sure. I absolutely loved it. You do need the audio tour (think it was included though) and it is a fair amount of walking but it was just amazing. And let me tell you, we go to a LOT of aerospace museums and this, this was something else. Really exceeded my expectations.

Seaport Village is great. There is a counter service Mexican place there that had surprisingly decent food (better in the Gaslamp area but I don't think that's what you are going for with the kids) however do NOT order a margarita there. BLEH. Perfectly drinkable beer though. Great energy and vibe for the kids, plus a nice stroll. Lots of good grub in Coronado, if you plan to head that way let me know and I have ideas but I don't recall that as being on the agenda.

Yeah, I've had this kind of thing happen to me before. But it has never been anywhere near this bad. Usually I tweak my back, take some advil, go to bed and wake up in the morning feeling fine. I don't like this lingering pain.

I completely threw mine out once on a horrible bed. What finally helped?

Foot massage. As in total acupressure, chinese reflexology kind of thing. It was insanely painful but totally helped. Bizarre.

Well... I will say that right now, I'm not in as much pain as I was earlier this week. I've got more range of motion and can actually walk normally right now. But I'm still hurting. They've given me prescriptions for a steroid, a muscle relaxer and I've since gone back and got a prescription for vicodin. At this point, I can move around and function fine... but it still hurts. I think I'm just numbed up enough that pain is now just discomfort. It gets worse when I sit or stand for a long time. And it takes a bit to loosen up when I start moving. I think as of right now, I will be just fine, but I'm already in the phase of weaning myself from the steroid and I'll be completely off of them by Tuesday, so I'm kind of worried about what will happen then.

Thanks. I know I need to. But I'm also trying to play the insurance and referral game. Which is becoming a huge PITA these days, but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, I've kind of run out of time to be able to get anything done before the trip, so hopefully I can manage for the short term.

I've been using it. It does help some. Laying down with ice under my back is about as comfortable as I've been.

::yes:: I did go back in and get a prescription.

Well, they are somewhat obsessed with animals. So I can see them really getting something out of it. I don't like this hilly thing everyone keeps mentioning though. :rotfl2:

Insurance and referrals are here and there. Much as I wish they weren't boy, are they ever.

I'm really feeling old though. I've had back injuries before, but it has always been a case where I'm sore all day, take some Advil before bed and I wake up feeling fine. Having this one still linger a week later is kind of getting me down.

Getting old sucks. No two ways about it.

  • Well, we’d like to check in and get settled into our room if possible, and then we’re heading over to the Studios to see the Osborne Lights.

  • Would you be interested in a complementary upgrade? We can put you in a Cars Suite. And I see you have another room attached to your reservation. We can put them right across the hall and both rooms are ready.

  • Yes, that would be awesome!!!!

How absolutely magical on every level. I totally want to stay in that room!!!!!!!!!! I must make that happen at some point, just for a night. Not just AoA but in a Cars Suite!

I'm glad your back is feeling better, but good to have a back up plan in case the injury comes back.

I'm sure you'll figure out something good to do on Saturday. Hopefully it won't rain, there is a small chance of rain over the weekend, but pretty slim. Looks like you'll have great weather when you get to Disney, though.

You got a great CM and Wow! What an upgrade! Ever since AoA opened we have wanted to stay in a Cars room, but at $300+ we just can't swing it, especially with all our DVC points.

I just love that room! It looks so cool! Did you use the pull down murphy bed/table?

Your daughter is so cute with the Cars characters!

It's good that you got pictures of the resort area, it looks so cool!

Wait, what? :confused3

This is the only reason I'm reading this report! :badpc::badpc:

:rotfl2:

The Sandlot

:thumbsup2 +1

Andy,

SCORE!!!! How great was that!? So glad you got the upgrade you wanted!

I have plans up my sleeve for equally awesome things in the resort category of our trip, but if the most unfortunate circumstance those don't work out, AoA is at the top of my list. And now that I've seen your pix, whereas Cars was off the docket, it is now back on. That or Nemo area.

I hope your back continues to feel better and your trip goes well! :goodvibes

Wow, that upgrade is incredible! A week in a suite in an awesome area for no extra charge?! :confused3 Yes, please! ::yes:: Another DIS-friend who is at WDW right now had a Little Mermaid reservation for their first night and got upgraded to a Cars suite too! Makes me wonder how common that is... I only had a brief time to walk (run) through AoA in August, but I was just blown away by that whole Cars area - so very cool! I really want to spend more time exploring it sometime. Looking forward to seeing it throughout your report.

Have a great time at Disneyland!

Holy Upgrade! NICE!!!!!!!! :worship::worship::worship: You guys must have been thrilled. That is so awesome. The room looks super cool and I love all the pictures around the resort. AoA is such a cool resort. I would love to stay there sometime. Great pixie dust.

Now - back to your back. Get it - back to YOUR back! How long have you had this back pain now? I think you may need an MRI. I know you are leaving soon. Just tuck that info away. Can you call your PCP before you leave and get a referral for one. Maybe you could have it while you are away. All you need is the disc to take home with you. Having the report would help, too. Or maybe you can set it up for when you get home.

Anyway - I hope I am just over reacting, but I am concerned about your continued back pain. No numbness or tingling anywhere, right?

Wait, what? :confused3

This is the only reason I'm reading this report! :badpc::badpc:
Sorry Tim. I know you always prefer anything with a shock factor. :lmao:

I remember how much you wanted the Cars suite so I know this was awesome pixiedust:pixiedust: for you. And you can see how excited the kids are standing in front of the car for their pictures. How sweet of the CM to give your DD a flower. :goodvibes
It was incredible. We were completely blown away and excited about it.

I agree with you...Disney did a GREAT job with this resort.
It definitely is a step above the other values.

Here's hoping the back pain is better before you leave for DL.
Thanks!

The Sandlot
I don't keep score, so here's a pat on the back.

And I really need to watch that movie with DS sometime. I used that line on him the other day and he just looked at me funny. :lmao:

Andy, so awesome that you got an upgrade! The Cars area and room look fantastic!
It was phenomenal. I'd seen pictures on the Dis, but it turned out to be everything I expected and more.

What an awesome upgrade! Sharon sounds like a fantastic CM. So sweet she gave your DD a flower. :flower3:
She was phenomenal. I was a little disappointed with our CM interactions as a whole on this trip, but Sharon might be one of the best we've ever had. I'm usually tired from the drive, and I can really be short and probably difficult to deal with during check-in, because I just want to get checked in an get on to our room. She just had the ability to break the ice, remind me where I was and put me at ease.

Have a great trip and safe travels this weekend! Hope your back cooperates! Don't forget to get up and walk around on the flight.
Thanks! I'll definitely have to walk around some. I'm sure I'll have to take DS to the restroom a few times anyway. Our first flight is 4 hours.

Following along! Sorry to hear about your back, I hope you feel better for your trip...
:welcome:

Thanks. I think I'll be ok. I hope so anyway!

Glad you're feeling better. You can always replace the prednisone with beer and see if that does the trick. And for heaven's sake, don't fold any t-shirts!
Well, I managed to finish packing yesterday without causing any further damage...

I'd be all for your solution, but I think the other pills they gave me might just be a little stronger than beer. And I'm pretty sure I don't want to mix them with beer. I just hope that I can make it a day or 2 without taking them so I can enjoy something from Trader Sams. :thumbsup2

Say it with me: GET OFF MY LAWN!!!
:lmao:

Seriously, it'll get better. I firmly believe you'll have no problems on the trip.
I hope you're right! I'm going to have to be pack mule for all our carry-ons at the airport, so I'd better either be fine, or those pain killers better work.

Enjoy DL! I think you'll find what we did: it feels more cramped and crowded than WDW (summer crowds didn't help). But many of the rides are actually better there.
I'm looking forward to checking it out! I'm really excited about it. But I'd be more excited if they didn't have so many refurbs going on. :headache:

It does look pretty cool!
::yes::

No, I'd like the crappiest room possible.
How about a lounge chair in one of the Cozy Cone cabanas?

Score! That's fantastic! Sharon sounds wonderful.
::yes::

For $47 or whatever it is, she'd better use it at home.
I think it was like $16.... but yeah. We refilled them a few times while we were there. I know we didn't get our money's worth out of it, but we have been using them quite a bit since we got home, so it isn't a total waste.

Uh oh. My foreshadowing detector just started beeping.
:sad2:

What a beautiful family. Love that the kids wanted pictures in front of the Cars guys constantly. Can't wait to read more!
:welcome: Thanks! I knew DS would be excited about being in the Cars section, but DD was loving it just as much as he was!

I'm glad to hear the back's feeling a little bit better. I hope it continues to get better and that you can make it through the trip okay (even with the lower dose of prednisone).
Me too! I've been skipping doses of the muscle relaxer and pain killer so that hopefully they might seem to make a bigger difference later if I need them. I'm improving a little day by day. I'm still far from being pain free, but I can move ok.

The details at AoA really are incredible. It's my favorite resort for that reason - there are so many incredible details. We found some things on our second trip there that we missed the first time - so if you go back, expect to see some things you missed on this trip! Disney really did an amazing job with AoA.
Oh, absolutely! Like I said, we didn't spend very much time at all in the Lion King or Little Mermaid sections. And I never made it to the playground in the Finding Nemo section, so we have tons more there to explore sometime.

I love that the CM gave your DD a rose ... so sweet!
It was! She was proud of her flower!

Cars suite upgrade ... awesome! Don't get me wrong, I love the Little Mermaid rooms, but who would say no an upgrade?
Um... yeah... We were perfectly fine with staying in a Little Mermaid room, but Cars was our first choice if it weren't for the price difference.

I'm not a big fan of the mugs (I just don't see the point), so I'm not surprised that you thought it was a waste of money. I'm glad they're at least still using them.
They're ok, but they have flaws. First of all, they're too darn small. Whenever I go fill it and get a snack to take back to the room, I always drink it before I make it back to the room. :lmao: If they had more drink stations around the resort, or we were close to where one was located, I think they'd be much more worth while.

We had dining plan so that's why we got them. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure that's not something we'd have spent any money on.

I love all the pictures! I've never seen inside the Cars room before - it looks so fun. I especially like the view from your room - you have a great view of Lightning McQueen's backside.
It really was cool. I wish I had taken more pictures of the room. I loved the shower curtains, and the pictures hanging on the walls!

Really? You left an hour after you told your wife that you wanted to leave, and you thought meeting up 55 minutes before the FP+ window was going to work?
Okay then, I guess we'll just have to see if you were right ...
:headache: I know, I know... In my defense, we really didn't have much choice but to make it 3:30. Everybody wanted to shower and freshen up before we left and if I built in a cushion, we'd have had to leave right then.

Enjoy Disneyland! If you guys liked the Cars section at Art of Animation, I'm sure you'll love Cars Land, the details there are pretty incredible too.
Oh, I'm sure we will! I think we might try to take advantage of EMH in DCA both days it is offered so we can hit up RSR. I also want to try to get over there one evening for when the neon lights come on.

:welcome: and thank you for the info!

I thought it seemed kind of odd too... I've checked several times and that's always what it says!

It isn't too bad though. They've got the park listed to open at 10 on Wed and Thurs, so EMH isn't until 9.

I'm just not sure if we'll be able to make it to EMH at DL on Fri though. They've got the parks opening at 8 with EMH at 7. :headache:

I'm really feeling old though.

You have no idea…

This will be my last update before we leave for California since our flight departs at 5:45 am on Saturday.

Well, just twist the knife why don’t ya’

Our CM was named Sharon and she was awesome! She greeted us and asked DD if it was her first trip. She was being shy, but we told Sharon that she’d been there before when she was about 8 months old. Sharon then handed her a rose and gave both kids coloring sheets and crayons.

This is the kind of stuff that they do all the time that just keeps us all coming back.

She did a few things on the computer and then asked me what our plans for the day were.

:faint:
But this is the kind of stuff that happens when you’re very, very lucky
That’s a huge win.

And the way the night would proceed, we'd come to appreciate that extra bit of magic to start our stay on the right foot even more.

Uh oh… I believe there may be ominous storm clouds gathering on the horizon.

I told DW that I’d go get the Suburban and head over to park by our building, so they could walk through the courtyard areas and check the place out on their way to the room. Here are some of the pictures she took:

Um… yeah, that’s right. She didn’t.

Sensory overload…
That’s the excuse we’ll be going with here.

A view of the Cozy Cone pool from our room:
20141216_160058-2.jpg

I suspect that when it’s warmer one would have to get down there right early if they wished to stake out a claim to one of those cones for the day.

Couldn’t fudge the start times on the FPs could ya’?
I believe those storm clouds are getting a bit more threatening.

Thanks! Glad to know. I'm not sure if we'll make this the plan for tomorrow, or if we might try to hit it on Tuesday morning on the way out of town. But I definitely want to try to work this in.

I think Seaport Village might get multiple visits from us. We're going to be at the Manchester Grand Hyatt which is right next to it, so we'll probably head over and try out a few of the eateries there, I'm sure.

I completely threw mine out once on a horrible bed. What finally helped?

Foot massage. As in total acupressure, chinese reflexology kind of thing. It was insanely painful but totally helped. Bizarre.
Hmmm... interesting. I've heard of that helping others before too. I don't quite understand it, but if it works it works.

Insurance and referrals are here and there. Much as I wish they weren't boy, are they ever.
::yes:: This past year, our company's insurance has been a huge PITA. I have 2 co-workers who have been fighting with the insurance company and collection agencies over some emergency services. I definitely want to make sure all i's are dotted and t's are crossed before I do anything beyond the general doctor visit.

Getting old sucks. No two ways about it.
You've got that right. I could stand to lose some weight too. That would probably help.

How absolutely magical on every level. I totally want to stay in that room!!!!!!!!!! I must make that happen at some point, just for a night. Not just AoA but in a Cars Suite!
It really was incredible! The room was fantastic and it really was a step above all other value resorts.

I'm glad your back is feeling better, but good to have a back up plan in case the injury comes back.
Yeah, I don't want it to seize up like it did when we're at Disneyland. It'd take half an hour to get across the park. :lmao:

I'm sure you'll figure out something good to do on Saturday. Hopefully it won't rain, there is a small chance of rain over the weekend, but pretty slim. Looks like you'll have great weather when you get to Disney, though.
I know! I've been watching the forecast. It definitely beats the single digit and negative temps we've had here the past few days.

You got a great CM and Wow! What an upgrade! Ever since AoA opened we have wanted to stay in a Cars room, but at $300+ we just can't swing it, especially with all our DVC points.
I know. We couldn't have been happier with it! We'd priced out the Cars Suite to begin with, but just couldn't justify it. I'm so excited that it all worked out in the end.

I just love that room! It looks so cool! Did you use the pull down murphy bed/table?
We didn't. The kids both slept on the fold out sofa bed and we left the table in place for the whole week. We wanted to have a place to set things down, and since we brought fruit and cereal for breakfast, we wanted to have the table there for breakfast.

Your daughter is so cute with the Cars characters!
Thanks! I love those pictures. She looks too old though. She even has the lean on the door pose down.

It's good that you got pictures of the resort area, it looks so cool!
I wish we had taken more. DW was fighting some camera problems most of the week, and I was too much into just trying to soak it in as opposed to taking pictures.

Whew... I'm glad somebody is going to keep score around here. I don't want Glenn to feel bad. But I didn't want to steal the movie quote thing... :lmao:

Andy,

SCORE!!!! How great was that!? So glad you got the upgrade you wanted!
It was kind of like... Pinch me, is this real? I mean, I was tired. So I wasn't sure until I tapped my wristband and the door actually opened. :rotfl2:

I have plans up my sleeve for equally awesome things in the resort category of our trip, but if the most unfortunate circumstance those don't work out, AoA is at the top of my list. And now that I've seen your pix, whereas Cars was off the docket, it is now back on. That or Nemo area.
I loved, loved, loved the Cars area. But then again, DS loves cars, and I always enjoy watching it with him. Of the 4 movies featured in AoA, Cars is by far our family's favorite and they really nailed it on the theming.

What a fantastic upgrade! What a great way to start out the trip!
::yes:: It was! We couldn't have been happier about it!

I hope your back continues to feel better and your trip goes well! :goodvibes
Thanks! It seems to be improving. Hopefully no setbacks this week!

They really did a great job. I loved just wandering through the courtyard on the way to refill my mug or grab a snack. There was always something new that I'd notice.

I think this might be fairly common. We received a discount pin late last summer. I went to the TA to see if we could get anything applied. The TA got on the phone and told me that they couldn't do anything for our Little Mermaid reservation because it was sold out, but we could upgrade to a suite or moderate resort for an upcharge. We ended up sticking with Little Mermaid and no discount.

My assumption is that Little Mermaid sells out since so many people want to stay at AoA, but can't quite swallow the price of the suites. Therefore, they end up over booking that section while not quite filling the others. :confused3

Have a great time at Disneyland!
Thanks!

Holy Upgrade! NICE!!!!!!!! :worship::worship::worship: You guys must have been thrilled. That is so awesome. The room looks super cool and I love all the pictures around the resort. AoA is such a cool resort. I would love to stay there sometime. Great pixie dust.
It really was an amazing upgrade. We never have that kind of luck, so we were on cloud 9. And I know DS loved staying there much more than he'd have liked being in a "princess room." :rotfl2:

Now - back to your back. Get it - back to YOUR back! How long have you had this back pain now? I think you may need an MRI. I know you are leaving soon. Just tuck that info away. Can you call your PCP before you leave and get a referral for one. Maybe you could have it while you are away. All you need is the disc to take home with you. Having the report would help, too. Or maybe you can set it up for when you get home.
It has been just over a week now. It is feeling better. I know the meds are a big part of that, but I'm hoping that it has improved because it is just a strain. I have spoken with the PCP again since my appointment... hence the additional prescription for painkillers. And I explained that I'd be out of town, and that's kind of why I wanted them... just in case. So I think at this point if it is still bothering me next week, I'll probably call to see if they can set me up for something when we get home.

Anyway - I hope I am just over reacting, but I am concerned about your continued back pain. No numbness or tingling anywhere, right?
I appreciate the concern. I'm concerned too!

No numbness or tingling. I had a little bit of it last weekend if I'd move the right way. Not anything that lasted long, but I'd feel a tingle kind of running down the backs of both legs if I'd try to take too big of a step or try to turn quickly. That has completely gone away though... and they told me that since I felt that sensation in both legs as opposed to just one it likely wasn't a disc, but more likely a strain. :confused3

Loving the trip report so far! Just got caught up on your travel night/day and your arrival/checkin.

Sounds like you had a few bumps in the road along the way, but I'm glad it didn't turn into a literal bump at the welcome arches.

Clueless people!

:sad2:

Yeah on the upgrade and all-around courtesy from Sharon.

The Cars suite looks AWESOME!!! I love the tool box bureaus and cone lamps. Really fantastic details.

The view from your room is not too shabby, either!

Those are adorable pictures of your kids with the cars.

Have a fantastic, and hopefully pain-free, trip to Disneyland.

Holy cow! What an awesome start to your trip. I didn't even know they gave upgrades like that at Art. That's so cool. And I remember you really wanting a family suite.
What made it even better, I think, was the fact that they did for not just your room, but for your in laws as well.

Disney Magic at its best.

Oh my goodness, your DD is just adorable. She looks so happy to be posing in front of the cars.

You have no idea…
:headache:

Well, just twist the knife why don’t ya’
That's what nemesiseses are for.

This is the kind of stuff that they do all the time that just keeps us all coming back.
::yes:: and it works.

:faint:
But this is the kind of stuff that happens when you’re very, very lucky
That’s a huge win.
::yes:: I never have this kind of luck.

Uh oh… I believe there may be ominous storm clouds gathering on the horizon.
Well, we've seen the good CM side of Disney. Next up... the annoying park goer side of Disney. :headache:

Sensory overload…
That’s the excuse we’ll be going with here.
Works for me.

I suspect that when it’s warmer one would have to get down there right early if they wished to stake out a claim to one of those cones for the day.
Probably. But we had pick of any one we wanted! :rotfl2:

Couldn’t fudge the start times on the FPs could ya’?
I believe those storm clouds are getting a bit more threatening.
It wasn't all roses. That's for sure.

Loving the trip report so far! Just got caught up on your travel night/day and your arrival/checkin.
Thanks!

Sounds like you had a few bumps in the road along the way, but I'm glad it didn't turn into a literal bump at the welcome arches.

Clueless people!

:sad2:
Yeah, that was just ridiculous. I wish I had a water balloon or something. That would have been fun... :rolleyes1

Yeah on the upgrade and all-around courtesy from Sharon.
She was incredible. Best CM experience I've ever had.

The Cars suite looks AWESOME!!! I love the tool box bureaus and cone lamps. Really fantastic details.
Oh yeah... I could see myself living in a room like that. I loved it.

The view from your room is not too shabby, either!
No! It was great. And we could even see the higher Illuminations fireworks through our window.

Those are adorable pictures of your kids with the cars.
Thanks

Have a fantastic, and hopefully pain-free, trip to Disneyland.

:goodvibes
Thanks! I hope so. Right now I'm not even thinking about the pain. I'm just a nervous wreck. I've flown tons of times, but never with the kids. I'm going through checklists making sure we have everything and trying to figure out contingency plans for the first in air meltdown. :scared:

Absolutely! We were blown away by it. I won't lie though, I was jumping at the upgrade even if she couldn't have gotten both rooms in the Cars building. :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Oh yes... she loved posing with Sally and Lightning. We didn't take pictures every time, but she definitely asked to get a picture with them every single time we walked out the door.

Whew... I'm glad somebody is going to keep score around here. I don't want Glenn to feel bad. But I didn't want to steal the movie quote thing... :lmao:

We all have a job to do around here. Oh, and don't worry too much about stealing each others' ideas. I do it all the time. ;)

It was kind of like... Pinch me, is this real? I mean, I was tired. So I wasn't sure until I tapped my wristband and the door actually opened. :rotfl2:

Well, that's always a good sign.

I loved, loved, loved the Cars area. But then again, DS loves cars, and I always enjoy watching it with him. Of the 4 movies featured in AoA, Cars is by far our family's favorite and they really nailed it on the theming.

All the other photos I've seen don't seem to capture as much of the detailing.
The pix on other forums make it look kinda barren. I like what I see; thanks for giving me "more". :)
