ok so there are four adults and one child 2 years old we are on a budget so really dont want 2 rooms and the suites are almost 400 a night ugg, we dont really mind the tight space as we are planning on doing theme parks all day. just wanted to know if anybody else has done this with my size family before and were you ok. i was planning on renting a toddler bed for my 2 year old grandaughter. she is head over heels for ariel whitch is why i chose this room also ty for any comments.

I've heard that the LM rooms are slightly bigger then the other value resort rooms. So that's good right? :)

It will be tight. But, if you realize that going in, you should be fine.

To me, that would be way too tight. But, everyone is unique in their needs. I would not feel like that is a vacation. I'd look into two rooms.

Although the 2 year old loves Ariel, if the room is only for sleeping, I wouldn't choose it based solely on that.

Do the value resorts not provide a pack & play?

You also will pay an extra $10/night for the extra two adults.

I would look into two rooms personally.

It can be done. It will be very tight. I thought that you could get a pack n play from Disney for free. Hmmnn....

So, if you were budgeting the higher rate of LM rooms plus $20extra per night for the other two adults plus renting a toddler bed.......perhaps you would have enough to get 2 rooms with a discount in POP or an AS resort. You would be a lot more comfortable if you can make it work.

Otherwise, have a plan. Have some adults shower at night and others in the morning. Rotate who stays in the room with toddler during naps and early bedtime. use packing cubes with color coordination to keep you organized in the room. Stuff like over the door organizers can really help. Perhaps a collapsable bin for laundry. Travel light and do laundry at the resort.

Good luck!

Too tight for me; and does anyone snore? Does the 2 year old use the bathroom, and need it in a hurry at times? If child is in diapers, that is another negative for small room with 5 people. I would say, try for 2 Pop rooms, discounted (sometimes up to 30%), and walk over to Art of A and visit the LM area. The Value rooms with even be tight with 4/5 people's suitcases and toiletries. And remember an extra $20/per night for the 2 extra adults.

I am not sure you would be allowed to put a toddler bed in there, even a pack and play would be difficult. Could be against a fire regulation to put a toddler bed in there, I would call and ask about that.

My problem would also be everyone going to sleep at the same time. Lights out for me is later than other people....

This is a big concern, and one reason that all four in my family cannot stay in one room any longer (last time was six years ago or so). My DD needs more sleep, so either sleeps in late or goes to bed early. That wouldn't be possible with so many in the room.

A two year old will obviously need to go to bed earlier than the adults. I don't see how that is going to be comfortable.

We've done 4 in a room, knowing going in that it was about serious money savings and hoping for the best. We all rolled into bed exhausted after each park day, staggered showers and had absolutely no issues. I've always been very go-with-the-flow and can make any sleeping arrangement work. My sister on the other hand, could NEVER travel that way and this next trip we have 3 rooms for 8 people. Not sure I'll know what to do with all that space! It really just depends on the personalities involved. And how long the trip is, IMO. If it's 4 or 5 nights and you'll be hitting the parks non-stop, it'll be less of a big deal than an 8-10 night trip with built-in relaxation time and wanting to stretch out.

All that said, if you're looking for a deal, I would steer clear of AOA, even the Little Mermaid rooms. Almost all the promotional deals that have been released since AOA has opened have excluded it. So the Stay, Play and Dine deal we got for this winter, we wouldn't have been able to get if we chose to stay there. Just something to think about!

It will be tight but if you already know that and are ok with it, you'll be fine.

If you are a commando park person, it's not going to really matter anyway, right?

The rooms are super cute! :)

I'm pretty frugal but I'd say no. Double sized beds, very little floor space and only one sink. I stayed in a value room with two other adults and I don't think I could do it again. Heck I stayed in a Deluxe (Beach Club) with the same two adults and while that was okay, it was a case of workable but I'd still probably try to do two rooms or a suite if I had to have three adults or more again. I do often share in the real world with them as well and even as three adults we have problems with different sleep patterns.

I couldn't handle all of those people in a value room. I could barely do it at a moderate or deluxe resort.

My biggest question is, what will the rest of you do when the 2 year old has to go to bed? Is the child a fussy sleeper, where they need it absolutely quiet and dark to sleep? If the answer to that question is yes, then I think you are setting yourselves up for disaster. Also, how will you all handle bathroom time, or getting ready to go out? Are you not shy where if someone has to use the bathroom while another person is showering you will be ok?

When are you going? And would you be willing to do an All Star Family Suite? Those are substantially cheaper than the suites at AoA.

Frankly I think it would be awful. If budget is the driving factor, I think you'd be better finding a place off site. For the same price you could get a larger room with queen beds and much more floor space. A pack and play would fit more easily ( although I don't know how a toddler bed might fit anywhere).

While we loved AofA, I really don't think the décor touches of the LM room will make much difference to a two year old. The All stars often price way less than the LM rooms and discounts apply to them which don't at the LM rooms, and with the extra adult charges it might not be as much difference as you think to get two rooms at an All Star. To me this would be much more preferable.

Everything that I've ever seen says 4 adults "with an up to 3 year old in a crib" where crib = resort provided pack and play. I don't think you'd be allowed to rent a toddler bed and put it in the room.

Also, if you go with a family suite not only do you not have to pay the additional $10 x 2 a night for your extra adults, but you get a kitchenette. Which you can use to offset some of the cost by having meals in the room. Plus you would have 2 bathrooms, and one real bedroom with a queen sized bed and a door!

If you are on a tight budget, I wouldn't choose the LM rooms. As others have mentioned, they are always excluded from discounts. If you need to stay in a value, you may want to consider re-pricing with POP if and when discounts are released. You could always walk over the bridge and look at the LM section of AoA. Honestly, though, the room will be very tight. You would get a much bigger bang for your buck if you stayed off-site.

Just a minor point. I agree with you about bringing in a toddler bed. I don't think it would be allowed. However, the Pack 'n Play doesn't have to be resort-provided. On our most recent trip, we brought our Pack 'n Play from home, which our son was used to, and that worked fine.

Oh, ok. I forget that people still drive.

I would have to say no way on earth would I do it, if you are set on staying onsite due to the need for Disney transportation I would look at other values as others have suggested. If you are driving I would agree with Minnie Mum about staying off site to have more space for far less money. The decor touches of a LM room didn't impress me as an adult - I am positive a 2 year old would not be impressed. I loved the pool, if I has spent more time at the resort (it was only 1 night) I am sure I would have loved wandering through the other areas so enjoy the themes but the rooms were very plain to me and I would never opt to stay there again. I can only liken it to a Motel 6, in fact, I haven't stayed in a hotel in many, many years with signs put up about the costs for items "missing" from the room upon check out! But I really couldn't understand why anyone would have taken things - the quality of the things were very poor.

We done four adults in a value. Since we spend most our time on the go, we literally shower and sleep in the room. If you think it will work for you and you have your heart set on those rooms, go for it.

I do agree with a PP who suggested that if you can make two rooms work with a discount at POP that is great option too. The real plus of the LM section at AoA is in my opinion all the awesome icons out by the pool area. Staying at POP allows you to walk over there and check it out and get some great photos with her.
