Hi guys I've come to you since you're the best, can someone help me with photoshopping this picture. It's a old picture, from 2000, that I've scanned into my computer. I need it cropped and the color fixed on it. I'm going to use this for my sons yearbook ad. I really really appreciate any help you can give me. :lovestruc

It's a low resolution copy so it's not going to look great enlarged but here are the steps you can use.
Crop
Clone out woman
Increase Gamma
Decrease shadows
Sharpen
DeNoise
Select boy's face & increase Gamma again

Thank you so much it looks so much better. :cool1: It's not going to be enlarged, it's going into my sons yearbook ad, so it will work perfectly. Thank you again you're a lifesaver.

Glad I could help. Love the expression on the boy's face.

How large do you plan on printing it in the yearbook? At 429 x 639 pixels, you can't get very big, depending on their print resolution. You may want to look into that and scan at a higher resolution if necessary (unless its already larger and photobucket just shrunk it for posting).

I only bought a half of page and this will be one of many pictures on the page. I really don't have a say in the layout the yearbook editors do the layout according to how much room they have.

I'm not sure about the scanning I just got my copier/scanner and didn't know how to change the setting so I just stuck the picture on the glass and pressed scan. :confused3 Do the scanners usually give choices on what resolution you want to scan it in? TIA :)
