Sorry in advance if these questions have been asked before.
Thinking about staying here in Oct/Nov

If we go to Epcot for early entry or right at 9:00 am do we go through International Gateway and walk to the front or do we go to the main entrance somehow????

What time is SAB open until? We like to come back from the parks and go to the pool at night. (until at least 10:00 pm)

Is SAB "too big" to be able to keep an eye on your children? My children are ages 9 & 11 but I still like to see where they are. From the pictures it looks very big with a lot of nooks and crannies where I may not be able to see them.

Are there quiet pools at the Beach club?

What are the quick servie breakfast options? Anything hot (pancakes/waffles) along the quick service route (not sit down) At the WL you can get some hot items for breakfast from their quick service area.

Thanks for your help,

You'll walk through the international gateway and through the UK/Canda (which will be closed and there will be CM's making sure you keep moving) to get to future world.

it varies seasonally, but that time of year it will probably close by about 7:00 pm. As an FYI, you'll find that on most nights that time of year, the parks except Epcot will close between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. Epcot closes at 9:00 pm year round with fireworks from 9:00 pm until about 9:20 pm every night, weather permitting.

This is true. You will completely lose sight of your kids if you give them free roam of the pool area. Additionally to use the slide they will ahve to leave the gated pool area.

You may use any of the three quiet pools there. One at the BC, one at the YC, and a third at the BCV.

There are a very limited number of options at the marketplace--I think they are like McDonalds breakfast sandwich types of things. You can take the five minute walk to the Dolphin and they have a cafeteria style restaurant there which offers pancakes and eggs and such.

You enter through international gateway and walk through to Future World ... it opens the same time the front entrance opens.

In October and November, SAB is usually not open late. However, the Villas, the Beach Club and the Yacht Club all have their own quiet pool that is open 24 hours a day.

You described SAB very well ... very large, lots of nooks and crannies and you cannot possibly see all of it from anywhere that you might sit.

The breakfast options are: Marketplace (parfaits, pastries, hot breakfast sandwiches); Cape May Cafe (character buffet); Galley (buffet or order off the menu). It is also an easy walk to the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin. We love to eat breakfast at the Sunshine Seasons at the Land in Epcot (an easy quick walk from the Beach Club). We also find Sunshine Seasons is one of the best places for a Quick Service meal (lunch or dinner) on the dining plan ... what a lot you get for a quick service meal!!!! And the selection is great and the desserts to die for! It's nice to get something other than hamburgers and salads.

Thanks,

I just can't decide. The biggest negative is that SAB may be closed early. Where ever we have stayed in the past the kids could always swim until at least 10:00 and we usually go in Oct/Nov and even the pool at PoP was open late this past Jan.

Is there a way I could find out for sure? Sometimes CM don't give correct info when you call... I guess I could call BC directly and ask.

Thanks again for your help.

It's doubtful that they will have an accurate answer until a week or two in advance--and even then it can change. SAB hours seem to be related to weather and hotel occupancy in the off-season. In all honesty the main/theme pools at most of the deluxes that have multiple pools seem to close fairly early in the off season.

The was one big turn off for my family. Unlike most of the other resorts that only shut down the water slide, the whole SAB pool area closes down. By the time you watch the fireworks, change clothes, and get to SAB, you have less than an hour left to swim. And we were there last October.

Add that to the fact that the bus rides to AK/MK were over 40 minutes each way, and you have why we will not return to the Beach Club unless we plan on doing a laid back Disney vacation (ha ha) or have our own car. Which is sad because I have always wanted to stay at the Beach Club, thought the kids would love it, and we all ended up disappointed.

The BC is my favorite resort at WDW. We love the Epcot proximity, the ability to eat around WS and walk home after Illuminations. I never found the bus service to be bad.
Stormalong Bay is awesome, but yes it does close early and it also opens late. When we were there in October the hours were 10 AM to 8 PM.
We used the quiet pools at other hours.
If this is the deciding factor for you, you may not be happy here.

That's why we crossed it off our short list too. SAB looks awesome, but with our habits on vacation (we're not rope drop people, but we'll be there for the fireworks every night!), we probably wouldn't ever get to use it. At POR, the slide hours in Oct were like 10 to 7/8 and we were only there to use the slide once, but at least we could enjoy swimming in the main pool when we did get back to the resort.

SAB is spread out, there are very deep parts and the slide entrance is pretty far from the actual pool area. They need to have multiple lifeguards on duty and they need to be able to see what the guests are doing. Makes it very difficult when it starts getting dark. Very understandable why they need shorter hours of operation.

And they do have three nice quiet pools for late night swimming, with hot tubs close by. I've seen people in the quiet pools very late.

My kids are the same ages as yours and we had the same concerns about not being able to see them in the pool at all times, especially since I read that the pool has currents, some report them as strong. So much so, that we cancelled and rescheduled for WL. I was disappointed as well since I have always wanted to stay at BC. Maybe in a few years when they are a little older.

It can be challenging to keep your eye on kids at SAB but I am up for the challenge any day because that pool is simply amazing!
