some questions about dining plan

I've read the general FAQ but was wondering some things:

- We're a party of 6 and we'll have a trip like this:
4 of us are staying 12 nights on a 4 person bedroom
2 of us (my parents) are staying 8 nights on a 2 person bedroom
6 of us will go 1 day to each park (the day at the AK will be completed with Spectromagic at MK and the day at MK will be completed with MVMCP) and also the morning of our last day to EPCOT for extra attractions and lunch at Le Cellier
4 of us will go 2 more days before the arrival of the others to 2 parks in each day
4 of us are going to DTD 3 nights (DQ/PI/CdS) and after the others arrive we should go at least 1 more night
6 of us are going to dinner at Jiko's (probably, not confirmed yet), this shall be our only signature dining
6 of us are going 2 full days to US (1 to each park), a full day to SW and a full day to BG

I made lots of calculations and it sure isn't worth to get the DDP for both rooms as we're staying lots of days out of the WDW parks.

What I actually discovered is that IF we could use the TS (CS I know is possible because if only people with the DDP go buy food for all the party, they can use they tickets without problems, snacks of course also can be used like this) for the people outside the DDP (we would get the DDP for the 12 days of our 4 person bedroom, so my parents wouldn't be on it), then we could use all the TS even without going all day to the parks.

This means we could use 12 to Jiko's, 6 at Le Cellier, 6 at Teppan Edo (our dinner choice for EPCOT day), 6 to Sci-Fi Dine in or 50's Primetime (choice of dinner at MGM), 6 for Yak/Yeti (choice for lunch or early dinner at AK), 4 to another EPCOT dinner, 4 to Planet Hollywood, 4 to Wolfgang Puck

But this would require us to use 12 of the TS tickets on people without DDP and I believe that isn't allowed, is it?

Please help us out on this. I believe DDP might help to cut some expenses on an already expensive vacation if we can use it fully, but with those off-days it would be impossible to do so without doing like this.

Any other ideas about how we could use these remaining 12 tickets and then pay for my parents dining after they arrive if its really not possible to do use TS for them.

Well, honestly, I couldn't follow all that but as far as sharing the DDP with people not on the DDP-NO, you can't do that.

yeah, re-reading that made me realize it is a bit confusing.

but you answered my question.

I believe we'll have to eat more CS throughout the days and save some money for those TS without doing the DDP.

OK, OK, OK, I know you are not supposed to share.

But, if a party for six came for dinner and answered 'yes' to the 'are you on the dining plan?' question, then when the meal was over, handed over a room key with a zillion TS credits available on it....how would they know you were 'sharing'?

I understand that you are not supposed to share, but I kind of feel if I have 6 TS credits THAT I'VE PAID FOR, I should be able to 'spend' them how I want. If I had a friend in FL for example, that I wanted to join me for dinner one night, what's the difference if I treated her to dinner using two TS credits...I'd still be having to buy another dinner for myself OOP sometiime during my trip, so how does Disney lose anything?

The card you turn over may have a zillion TS credits but it also has how many adults in your party,[and how many children for that matter] so if you have six adults eating and your card says you have the dining plan for 5 adults, it is obvious you are trying to misuse the system.

As for how Disney loses, well technically you might use this credit for say a $50 meal and later buy yourself a $30. one but the main thing is that the plan has certain rules and people should abide by them or not use the plan.

Ah, that makes sense.

OK, here's another situation....and this one actually isn't hypothetical, as we may have to do it on our upcoming trip. We have four people, four days (DVC) and we may be having someone join us for the last night. If/when we add her to our room reservation for that one night, I'm told we will still have to purchase four days DDP for her (in order to keep ours). So, does that mean ETHICALLY we have to waste/not use 'her' three days of DDP credits? That seems all kinds of wrong. :confused3

I agree with "Ibouncetoo."

I used the DDP 2x's in the past year and was never questioned about the # of people in my party. All the server looked at was whether or not I had enough credits to pay.
