I know that this might sound a bit soft to some people but here goes...

Last Saturday, our beloved little cat went missing and despite posters through doors and searching the fields around, ringing local vets etc, there has been no sign of her. She is four years old and a 'mongrel cat' but is very much a member of the family and the last week has been really tough for us.

It's DD's birthday on Friday and she keeps asking if she'll be home in time for her birthday.

We off to Florida in a month's time and I'll put off ringing to cancel her place at the cattery until as long as possible. In fact I'm glad it's a while before we go yet - if it was next week, I'm sure I wouldn't have gone.

Anyway - wish us luck a a sprinkling of pixie dust to magic her home.

I think I can sympathise with you on this one.

My mum has recently lost 2 of her cats, one was run over, and the other one poisoned!!!!!

She has a main suspect for the poisoning, but can't prove it. Both were lovely cats (even though I prefer dogs;) ).

Obviously she is really upset so I can sort of guess what you are going through.

I sincerley hope your story has happier ending.

Please take our pixie dust and best wishes.
All the best

Craig

This must be an awful time for you, just waiting for news. :(

Here's hoping for a happy ending, with your cat coming home safely and your DD having a happy birthday.

Aww sending loads of dust ***
I kinda know how your feeling, my mum had 2 cats, 1 totally disappeared :( we did the same as you, sent posters through doors, pinned them up everywhere, asked around, searched around,he never turned up :( Cats (male) which ours was are known to disappear then reappear months later he never did though,i imagine he might of been taken on as someone elses pet thats what i hope!,the other one was savaged by a pack of dogs! :( she survived at first but died 1week later.

Hope she turns up soon :(

It's not soft at all. Pets have distinct personalities and as such, become a member of the family.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you - cats are funny things, if someone else feeds them, then they're not always known for their loyalty ;)

I hope she turns up again soon.

..... the not knowing is really hard to bear isn't it?
I'm sure you are, but continue to ring round and continue to search - some cats do suddenly turn up after all.... I really hope yours does too.

:( I'm so feeling for you. We have three cats and I swear they get treated as well as DH and DD;)

Well, the two oldies, brother and sister, are getting on in years now and don't go far (the Old Moo is arthritic, so the furthest she manages to energise herself to is up the stairs outside our bedroom to demand feeding first thing every morning;) .

Felix - well he adopted us a couple of years ago. He lived in the garden for 6 months, we're guessing he was abused by a male human because he was terribly nervous, especially around males. However, he really is now the most adorable cat in the world. First year he was with us and we went to Florida I worried all the holiday that he would be worrying being left (with the others, being very well fed and looked after by our friends I hasten to add). Got back and he was the first one to greet us - thank goodness. The following Monday, took DD to Brownies, Felix trotted off down the driveway after us . . . and that was the last we saw of him over 8 days. The girls visited everybody in our area, put posters on all the posts - all the usual things. We even searched the fields we're surrounded by (one way is the sea, the other farmland - he could have gone anywhere). Well, we'd almost given up hope when I was sat one morning eating my toast, I saw a movement in the conservatory where the cats bowls were . . . . there was Felix. He couldn't miaow (can't properly miaow at the best of times, but there wasn't even a squeak coming out), was ravenous and drunk for England. Very frightened again, all we could assume is that he'd wandered in someone's shed/house/garage for a nose and got stuck when they shut the door.

Let's hope that's what's happened to your cat - never give up. "Moggy" cats are the best :D

Please let us know - we need to know. Fingers crossed for you.

xx

Oh no :( I know exactly how you feel, I love my kitties soooo much. Has there been any news yet??

Tons and Tons of pixie dust heading your way!!

Thanks all for your kind sentiments but I have to post with bad news.

Last night, DH and DD went to chip shop for tea. DD had asked them to put up a poster with photo in their some a couple of days ago. The man who has the newagent across the road came across and told her that he had seen the cat.

He had been in his shop on the morning we had let her out and a man came in and told him that a cat had been knocked down outside his shop. He went out because he has a black and white cat himself and thinking that it was his (and so did his wife - she was distraught) he picked her up and buried her in his back garden. His own cat returned a couple of hours later.

The time co-incides with the time we let her out - she must have died within 5 minutes of her leaving the house. I have been really upset and I told my DD when she came home from school and she is very upset.

I console myself by thinking that she didn't suffer and is properly buried facing fields where she used to love to roam and that she had a good life with a family who loved her.

Thanks again.

:( Don't know what to say except sorry, and I'm sure she didn't know anything about it.

She's probably up there chasing little mices around:D

Have some happy memories of her.
