We were supposed to be at WDW 2 weeks ago but due to a family emergency had to cancel at the last minute. I rebooked the flights for the first week of May but have been stressing over where to stay. For the past 2 weeks I have been checking email and calling daily to see if I had a pin code but the only code I had was good only for September. If we had to pay rack rate we had decided we would stay for the first time offsite (kids weren't too thrilled but we would still be at Disney) On Friday I sent an email to Disney asking how they give out their codes and why some people get tons of pins and don't use them while others who may go often don't seem to get any. The next day I received a call from someone at Disney who said she had read my email and would like to assist me with my travel plans. She took my info (dates of travel, number of people, where we would stay etc) and said she would call me back in 10 minutes...5 minutes later she called back and had me booked with free dining. :yay: I have never sent an email to customer service at any company ever before...I am really impressed!

With the economy in the tank and gas prices still HIGH, bookings must be down. Every now and then WDW must tell their people to give out PINs if someone asks to see if they have one. You hear too many stories where people have called and voila there is a PIN.

I am so happy you got your FD!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

How great for you!!!:yay: I sent an email with the same question last month and it took them about two weeks to get back to me. I got an email response giving me the same suggestions the dis members have given time and time again...sign up here and there to increase your chances etc... Well, I stopped waiting for a pin and upgraded to a deluxe resort with the 30% off gp offer instead. Glad to see they helped you out though, sounds like after having to cancel and rebook you were do for some good news!!:flower3:

I got the Free Dining PIN for June but we had to book at least 4 or 5 nights. I don't remember off hand since we were booking 7 nts. Good luck.

Pixie dust sure came your way.

Would you be kind enough to share the number of people in your trip and where you are staying. I'm just wondering if this had something to do with the kindness of the CM.

We are 2 adults and 2 kids (14, 15) and are staying at POR.

That's awesome! For those people who call and get the not-so-pleasant CMs, it's really worth calling again because there are obviously ones that go that extra distance. I called daily for 2 weeks before I got lucky.

After numerous calls to Disney, I finally got an amazing castmember who went the extra mile to get me free dining. She spent so much time looking at all the different codes and offers and finally was able to get a code to work for free dining. The only pin associated with our household was an upgrade for water parks and more. :)

Wow! Congrats! That is some wonderful pixie dust and I'm sure this will be a very special trip! :wizard:
