Some pics from our recent trip :)

I forgot to mention that we only had Sat. night in our concierge room, so because we went on the Safari, and because check-out is 11 we had to get our bags together and down to bell services before we went to the lounge. Next time I'll make sure I have enough points so we can stay 2 nights in concierge--the night before the safari and the night after. Getting up even earlier so you can deal with the bags is not fun :rotfl:.

After we came back from AK on Sun. we checked into our room for the rest of the stay--a 1 bdrm. value. I know you've all seen these before, but here are pics of our room (5004):

We definitely noticed the size difference between the value and concierge, especially in the master bedroom. The living room wasn't tight until you opened the sleeper sofa, and even then it was manageable. But the master bedroom was tight--we had to unpack the suitcase and use the dresser, which we never do when we travel (we're slobs, what can I say? :lmao: ). We can handle it for a couple more years until the boys are both teenagers though to save points ;). After that I'm sure we'll want to go to a 2 bedroom, although Dave seems to think otherwise--when is he going to learn I'm always right about these things? :lmao:

I am really enjoying your trip report!! I love all the pictures....We were at SSR from Nov. 21-Dec. 1st and I am missing it already!!:santa:

Oh...I hate hearin' you say that! We're in concierge sunday to Weds, Saturday night I booked a value room with the cash discount- so we have to check out of it and into the concierge room before the safari. It was the only way we could do it, so I guess we'll just have to suck it up and come back and nap later- hopefully we'll get in our new room before 4!!!:faint::wizard:

Sorry ;). The only good thing about the way we did it was I checked in for the safari, and then moved to the next woman and checked out for the concierge room--I didn't have to go downstairs to the main desk. You might have to go to the main desk to check out of the value room, unless you do the express checkout and then you won't have to do anything :thumbsup2 .

But you get to end your trip with the concierge room, and that's what I want to do the next time. As we were sitting in the main lobby before dinner I kept looking at the concierge lounge, wishing we were up there relaxing and enjoying the goodies (our flight didn't leave until 9:20 pm so DME didn't pick us up until 6:30)!

The next morning (Mon. 12-8) we had breakfast in the room (gotta love that kitchen!) and headed for Soarin'. This was actually our first time making it before rope drop--we usually get there about 10 min. after rope drop and I think I prefer that. Trying not to get run over by that herd is not my idea of a good time :rotfl: . I have to say that in general this group was really good--I've heard some horror stories, but other than a couple of runners who weren't paying attention everyone just walked briskly and seemed to be paying attention to those around them :thumbsup2 . Got our fastpasses and got in line--LOVE this ride! After that we headed for TT where we had a short 5-10 min. wait. Great fun as always, then on to MS for DH and Ian to ride while Brendan and I hung out.

Here's a shot DH took that I really like, even if I don't ride the ride ;)

By then it was time to head over to Canada to check in for our Le Cellier reservations. It was our first time eating here, or even exploring the pavillion for that matter. The gardens were gorgeous--I'd love to see them during the F&G festival!

The food was fantastic and I got my very own birthday Chocolate Mousse "moose" :cloud9:

We then went off to use our Soarin' FP's and then back to the villa for a break. Here are some pics of the Christmas topiaries on the way out--too cute!

The boys went swimming, even though it was a bit breezy outside and loved it! They spent most of the time on the slide while I enjoyed the view :goodvibes

Afterwards it was back to Epcot for dinner at Rose & Crown and Illuminations. Dinner was very good and we even got seated on the patio! Of course our reservation was way to early to stay for the fireworks, but it was still lovely to look at all the pavillions lit up :). We could even see the Christmas tree and Lights Around the World (or whatever it's called ;)). The show was amazing as always and we especially liked the Christmas ending :thumbsup2 . I won't post pics of the fireworks, but here's a couple of Spaceship Earth and the tree:

Not the best pic of the tree because of the monorail track, but the lights are pretty :)

A long walk and wait for the bus (with 2 very tired cranky kids) and we were home for bed. Next up MK and MVMCP :santa:

Your pictures are gorgeous - cute boys!!! I am partial to boys - I have two myself. Can't wait to stay in our Home away from Home!!!!! Thanks for giving me a little Disney fix!!!!

You mentioned in your first post that you went to TTC from AKL. Was there a bus that went directly to it? We had reservations at Ohanas and was told to take the TTC bus but we couldn't find one that went there.

My mistake! We took the MK bus and then hopped on the resort monorail *blush*. I'm not sure where I got TTC from, other than we passed through it after we stopped at the CR. As far as I know there isn't a bus from AKL to the TTC--at least not that we ever saw...

Thanks for the TR and the pics:goodvibes

Haven't been to AK in a while....and now I'm dying to go and explore those trails.:goodvibes
Kerri

Thanks, that's what we did, but I thought maybe we just didn't find the right spot to pick it up because the front desk told us there was a TTC bus.
