Yesterday my department at work had a golf outing. I work with 37 engineers, and I'm the only female. I don't golf (although I enjoyed it), but I put together a pretty nice outing if I do say so myself.
Anyway, we had a BBQ afterwards, and significant others were invited. One of the guys brought this woman he's been seeing, and I knew she'd probably be your typical "looker" just knowing his personality. She was thin, bleach blonde, weathered skin from tanning too much, but nice looking, and seemed to be just his type. He's a bit into women (if you know what I mean), and while I'm not particularly found of that personality, I do enjoy him as a co-worker. So as I'm on my out to my car to grab a sweatshirt because I'm chilled, I stop by them to meet her. When I tell them where I'm headed, she mentions she's cold too, so I offer to bring her a jacket. She says she would like that, so I grabbed both my sweatshirt and my jacket from the car. I put the sweatshirt on as I walked back, and handed them the jacket on my way through. I didn't see this part, but my DBF said that he held the jacket out for her, and she pushed it away. I hadn't noticed all this, and a couple of minutes later had to head into the Pro-shop for something. As I passed them, I see him still holding the jacket, and he says (with tension), "I guess she's not cold". I look up at her, and she's says, "I want the sweatshirt."
Now I'm pretty petite (5'2", 110, small frame), and while she was thin herself, she was taller and consequently stronger framed than I am. The sweatshirt is a small from Aeropostale (a teenage store), and fits me perfectly (not oversized). There is no way she would fit this sweatshirt (which is why I didn't give her a choice in the first place), but I started to take it off anyway. My co-worker says "No, she doesn't need the sweatshirt. She'll be fine", and hands me the jacket back. I think he was kind of embarrassed and a little frustrated with her. Personally, I wanted to see her try to get in that sweatshirt.... that would have been funny!!
It would have served her right.
Can you believe the nerve though?? I was just shocked when she said it. My jacket is a Cabela's jacket (green and yellow), and probably not her style, but jeepers.... are you that vain?????
