Is it just me or are all of the towncar companies that serve Orlando VERY rude and unprofessional over the phone and email?

I reserved through Tiffany. I called today to pay my reservation. Here's the conversation:

Tiffany: Tiffany town car.
Me: Hi, how are you?
Tiffany: OK.
Me: I just wanted to see if I could pay for my reservation.
Tiffany: (Grunts) hold on. (then puts me on hold.)

That was it. I hung up, sent them an email saying please cancel my reservation and they should think about being a bit more polite on the phone.

I decided to rebook with FLTours. Since they're a sponsor on the DIS, I thought maybe they'd be good.

I refuse to give my business to a rude company like that when there are so many other companies available.

that's pretty normal for many markets. My car service in the DC area is excellent; the owner's wife picked me up last minute a few weeks ago in the Mercedes instead of passing on my business - Friday rush hour on a long weekend, no less.

In Seattle one company has a monopoly on all airport transportation, and their service is as you mentioned. My DC service is abnormal, based on my usual experiences in other cities.

You will find some form of rudeness in the bigger companies. They seem to forget how they got started. After growing the companies begin dispatching their rides to strange drivers who have nothing to do with the company, so the companies begins to not know what is happening with the drivers.

There are many companies in Orlando whose drivers are also owners. Those are usually the best companies and provide customer service. They are the best companies to contact for rides because you are something, other than a reservation, to them. Several of the big companies are getting bad publicity because they have forgotten customer service.

To sum it up the best customer service is usually provided by owner/drivers.

I had about the same "service" when I was booked with Tiffany (this was in 2004, BTW), so I canceled and went with FL Tours. We've used them twice with excellent service.

Try Southern Elegance- extremely good customer service! We love using them.

Had enough of poor service from Tiffany, had enough of poor service from Happy... for the past 2 years we either take Magical Express or rent a car.

I had two terrible experiences with Happy Limo and took the advice from people on these boards who said FL tours would take care of me. I loved the service and plan on using them again in July, when I stay at Universal for two days before heading onto WDW. I may use Magical Express from the Poly back to the airport, but I'm not sure as of now.

It's funny, I got a reply from someone at Tiffany asking what went wrong as they are "committed to customer service".

I replied telling him of the conversation and that it takes more than claiming to be customer service oriented - You have to show it and they don't.

You made a very incorrect statement. I don't use Tifanny due to the surly office staff, but to call every car service in orlando stupid is pretty...stupid.

I use Lorden Transportation, and they have been WONDERFUL. Professional from every aspect.

That was a great comeback. Tiffany used to be one of the larger companies but the original owner got out and left it with someone else. The attitude of drivers usually follow the attitude put out by administrators. They are no longer the most favored car service in this area.

Deleting my post. No matter what you post, certain posters are gonna have something negative to say to you and as my parents taught me, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Don't worry about Anne. She doesn't mean everything she says. She has referred to me in worse ways than the above.

Huh? How is Anne wrong in this case? You can't say that every towncar service is rude when you only talked to one. That's just common sense.

That said, we used Sunray and they were terrific. I don't recall them being overly polite on the phone, but I'm not paying them to talk to me, I'm paying them to drive me. And when they drove us, they were wonderful.

Us too! We had some poor experiences with Tiffany (rudeness mostly, they were always dependable) and had enough of them. We've used Southern Elegance the last few times we've needed a car and they were great! :thumbsup2

Was the original owner a lady? Don't remember her name but always dealt with her when making my ressies. We always requested Berkley as our driver and got nothing but professional, courteous service from him. Last year was the first year we did not use TTC. We used DME and then rented a car for our off-property escapades. This year we are doing the same thing...DME.

Her point was valid, but really, was it necessary to post? Why pick at someone over a semantic choice?

Of course everyone here has the right to post whatever they jolly well please, but can you see how her post might be a bit off-putting?

Could anyone really say that everything they've ever posted has been 100% perfect? So he picked a silly, hyperbolic thread title. He was probably just frustrated with the situation. Why make a federal case about it on his thread?

Even if she's right (which I think she is) what does she really gain by criticizing the OP? Couldn't she just let it go? Why put yourself in a position of judgment like that? It's not attractive at all.

There are several people here who have experienced the same rudeness with Tiffany and other companies. It's a legitimate problem and he's not alone in his experiences.

You posted a lie and I called you on it. Why is that negative? Your post could have a negative impact on a lot of hard working men and woman that offer excellent service.

It wasn't a lie. It was how I felt at the time. I've dealt with 3 towncar companies that were incredibly rude on the phone. Maybe it was a bit exagerrated, but nothing more than that.

Who are you, the negative post savior? Are you going to come to the defense of everyone that is posted about in a negative lite on here just because you don't agree? You'll be a busy little beaver I reckon.

Actually I do. I'm not into pixie dust and being all flowery when I post. I use a lot of common sense and call it like I see it. And I'm not afraid to call someone on the carpet when they are wrong. It doesn't mean I'm always right, I stand corrected and admit I was wrong when I am.

It was a lie. If you had said "Why do I feel like all towncar services are stupid" then it would have been your opinion and I would ahve ignored it. But you made an untrue statement that condemned every car service company in the area in a malicious manner, despite having spoken to exactly one, without makng it clear that it was your opinion and instead wording it as fact.
