Some of the new kids menu scans:

We were at WCC on December 1st and the menu was totally different, probably the old menu?? My daughter who is 6, had the fried chicken strips that evening (the only day she had them). She would have been happy with a few of those choices though. They must have just instituted that at WCC in the small window in between my visit and yours. Also, my DD was not allowed to have a bottomless chocolate shake and I was worried, they'd be mad when I let her have some of mine. I only had one glass of the shake myself though, so it's not like I kept ordering more and more. Those shakes are so filling!!

The new menu got instituted on Dec 3, so you were still on the old menu the day you were there.

Are the CS kids menus also getting updated to include more options like the TS have in December?

Yes, now they all come with side choices. They get to pick two items....which for the most part are baby carrots, applesauce, grapes, fries, chips. My kids would get double applesauce most of the time.

When we went in Nov. all the restaurants we went to were very good about allowing us to substitute. We had the best experience at Sci-Fi. 2 of my kids got the kid picks cheeseburgers. The apps were tomato soup or salad. I knew that they wouldn't eat either so I asked if it would be okay to subtitute fruit for the appys and he said no problem. My oldest got the chicken plate that was supposed to have the fruit or applesauce for dessert. Without even having to ask our waiter asked me if I would rather he have ice cream for desert since thats what the other two would be having. We had similar experience at Kona. Le Cellier still had the old menu, so no problems there.

Looks like there are plenty of choices and some flexibility as well. These do not look nearly as bad as the original plan seemed.

They look bland, and kids are going to get sick of the same menu at the restaurants. They could of at least changed it up a bit.

Hmmm,

Are all the desserts the same at all the restaurants? :confused3 My kids aren't big dessert eaters but 8 days of ice cream or fruit cup could get a bit monotonous...

Glad to see things have changed. We were there in Sept. just before the first change and DD7 had many things to choose from. That being said she mostly (at TC) got pasta, mac n' cheese, or pizza (with broccoli if available) And at CS, she got chicken nuggets alot! (normally I don't let her get them very often, but heh, we're on vacation) I think we'll be happy with the choices when we go back in Sept. :goodvibes

If these new changes are a result of all the complaints Disney received, then :thanks: to all who complained-you've made it easier for the rest of us.

LeCellier no longer has the old menu and they were the only place that was extremely inflexible on the new menu. If you got the set menu choices you had to get them exactly as pictured and thus no dessert. Every other place was much more flexible about subbing between fruits/veggies/desserts. We even had a problem getting them to bring my son the appetizer portion of his meal when everyone else was having their appetizers including his sister who had chosen a pick one meal option. Eventually the server relented but it wasn't a pleasant meal.

LaCelier was the only place we ate at on our most recent trip with the new menues (all the rest were all you can eat places.) Anyway they weren't too bad about it, but we didn't ask for much. DD's spilt a plate of pasta with the sause on the side and DD had ice cream for dessert (and the one who is allergic to milk just had a few bites of her dad's chcolate cake.) I took the menue with me, but not sure where it is now. DD got cheese soup, but I ended up eating most of it. They bought it with our appetizers. It was a kid size small bowl.

Does anyone have the new kids menu for LeCellier that they would be willing to share? We leave next Sunday and are considering changing our ADR from Coral Reef to LeCellier. Of course, our decision hinges on whether or not there will be anything for our kids (4 & 2) to eat!:)

Also, have the kids meals at the resorts changed? I am especially interested in Mara at AKL.

Thanks,
Jennifer

So nice of you to post so quickly.

Choices look pretty good, better than the ones at Coral Reef.

FWIW, we had a much better meal at Coral Reef than Le Cellier last week. The kiddos were very unhappy with Le Cellier and it was their favorite on our last trip.

The Mara was great for the kids. They have chicken fingers among other kiddie foods. They also have a great kids breakfast waffle plate with 2 mickey waffles and choice of bacon or sausage. All ears only lists a few choices but there were more offered.
