Some of the new kids menu scans:

We went to WDW the second week of January. We ate at Tony's, Le Cellier, Spoodles, Whispering Canyon and Coral Reef. My DS is nine and I was quite apprehensive about the new kids' menus. He was allowed to freely pick appetizer, entree and dessert items at each restaurant from either the "Complete Meals" or the "Kids' Picks". All our servers were more than happy to get him whatever combination he wanted. My only complaint was how many times his dessert choices were fruit cup or ice cream sundae. He usually didn't order dessert and I'd share with him.

Would you mind telling me what is on the "official" kids menu at Tony's? We are considering this before the P&P Party next month, but I can't find a current menu (post 1/1/07) anywhere! Is it the same as the menu on P. 1 of this thread that was from December?

TIA:)

1,000,000 million times better than the original crappy menu of bland dietery food they tried to pawn off on the poor kids on vacation.

my son is now 10 but he would enjoy this menu and he is picky as all get out! Infact i'd say this menu is 1,000,000 times better than the old menus..you can still get things like hamburgers and ff's but now you get so much more like grilled fish (which my son loves)

were thinking of not doing the dining plan, my son is 10 weighs 50lbs and wears a size 7, he is tiny and never eats...the adult menu would be stupid and wasteful...i'm sure when he isnt sharing with me he'd enjoy this menu.

I may have missed it in the thread somewhere, but is the kiddie cone still offered at Kona?

We have scrapbook pages filled with my kids getting all the cool kids desserts at WDW. The lame desserts seem to be the worst part of this new menu.

Nope, it's been moved onto the adult menu and is now called the "Kona Cone" so if you want it, you'll have to order it as an adult dessert (if you're on DDP). If you're not, then of course, you can order what you want if you're paying.

Looking at all these new menus shows me that all our favorite restaurants no longer offer DD's foods that she will eat. Hopefully now that I put a call into dining and had it noted on our ADRS that we can request her foods from the chef that it will all work out. DD only eats certain foods and hot dogs and grilled cheese are two of only a very few. I really don't want to stop eating at our favorites so this better work out! LOL!
Edited to add that I just noticed the NEWer menus on this thread for two of our favorite places. They now have brought the hot dog back! At 50s Prime Time in October they had the new test menu and we were not able to get the hot dog for DD. At Kona's they have also brought back the hot dog. Now if they would only offer hot dog or grilled cheese at the WCC I won't have to special request it from the chef.

Wha great info on this thread! Planning our trip in March, and looking for things that my DD5 will eat. She's picky, and just now starting to branchout and try new things again. What is the 'canyon skillet' or whatever? Sounds like some kind of pasta. Anyone ever tried this?

The skillet at WCC is the same as for adults...pulled pork, chicken, ribs, cornbread, corn served in a skillet. It's an AYCE option. I'm pretty sure if a child orders it w/ an adult, they would just bring the bigger skillet, like they do for more than 1 adult.

Correct, they just add portions into the skillet they put in the middle of the table. My daughter and my husband order it nearly everytime. You wouldn't know it to look at her, but she can eat her weight in ribs! lol (she's 8 & 48lbs)

I like the look of the new child menus. However, I picked my ADR's a long time in advance to accomodate a super picky eater who will only eat grilled cheeses and some things not on the menus. I was counting on griilled cheeses for him and his toddler brother.

What do I need to do to get them to make a grilled cheese for him? Do I need to call someone in advance? Or do I just ask the server? Thanks!!

At TS restaurants, you can just ask the server. They'll try to accommodate special requests like that. At most CS eateries, it's often a matter of what is on the menu or not.

We tried this at a couple of restaurants in October when the new menus were just coming out. We were refused from getting a hot dog or a grilled cheese. I was told, even by a manager, that if it isn't on the menu then they don't have it. I now have it noted in my ADRS that a chef will come out and talk to us about what DD can eat. He hopefully will be able to supply such a simple meal.

We had really good luck at Olivia's getting substitutions last week (of course, we were not on the DDP, so not sure if that gave us more flexibility.)

I think they've gotten the message that they can't be so rigid about the food choices and expect parents to bring their kids to the restaurants. Who wants to sit next to a bunch of hungry, miserable kids?

It's not the Disney way, and I think all of the outpouring of complaints was key to getting it changed.

:worried: That's what we need to see too!! When we made our ADRs it was between the changes in the menus. We did not realise what the menu changes were until recently, we were so careful planning our meals around DS who is a VERY picky eater even at home!! If anyone has a copy and could post it we would be very interested to see what's available....Please Help:worried:

when you take a children CS so can ask for fries does that take 1 one or 2 subs? for example can you ask for fries and applesauce?

Any chance someone has the new one for Cap'n Jacks?

I wish I'd taken a photo of the posted menu in December. I can't find the current menu anywhere online. I remember that the menu is the new format, and it didn't include any adult types of food at all. IMHO it was all kiddie foods (e.g., mac and cheese, hot dog, grilled cheese, PB&J--but I forget which of those items were listed). My DS would have eaten the pasta (on the unofficial menus I've seen), but that was definitely gone from the menu.

I remember standing there feeling glad that we'd changed our ADR, because my DS would not have eaten anything on Cap'n Jack's menu!
