Some of the new kids menu scans:

Thank you for posting the scans so we could all see for ourselves. I wish we could do that for every restaurant but I know that likely won't happen.

Thanks for posting these, these really do look so much better than the changes a few weeks ago. I'm glad that Disney has responded to the many concerns that were raised.

From a friend in the ad business. If you are doing work for McDonalds, they send a "food stylist" from HQ to work with the local one to make sure the food meets their standard in appearance.

Always wondered about Wendy's the burger's look so tall on tv and when you order one they always look like they have been squashed.
Wow, we were just talking about this exact thing in my Critical Thinking Class yesterday. Anyway, the menus look much better than what I have been expecting. There are choices on each one that my DS who has some minor sensory issues will enjoy. Thanks for posting those.

I'm not sure if Disney really could change things that fast -- they're kind of a slow moving organization. Perhaps some of these additional changes were planned from the beginning, or at least foreseen as probable needs.

Yes, perhaps they thought "this will be unsuccessful, so we will have to be ready to change it in a few weeks."

Just back too and I can not find the menu but LeCellier also had a steak as a choice and you could get the campfire smores for a $2.00 upcharge.

At Concourse during Thanksgiving week my DD was able to get the steak there and it wasn't on menue then. We were also not charged an additional $2. My point is if your kids liked something in the past and you do not see it on the menue--ask , they still might have it.

Someone here posted a pic of the grilled chicken that's on other menus, and it looked much better in their photo than on the menu. They also said it looked much better in person, too.

DD had the grilled chicken with the marinara pasta at PTC last week and it was actaully a whole chicken breast that had been grilled and then cut into strips. I tried a bite and it was good, actually probably better than I make at home as I struggle with overcooking chicken.

I'm going back this weekend for 5 days. I'll try to get as many kids menu as I can get and scan it.

Can I ask a dumb question?

I noticed in small print on the menus (contains one item from each of the 5 food groups) Since when are there five food groups? I remember being taught about the 4 food groups. :confused3

You know, there must be at least 25 threads with PAGES of compliants about the kid's menu (where's the chicken nuggets!??!?), most from people who hadn't set foot on property yet. Now, however, the menu's are being refined and the truth about them is coming out from people who actually have seen them, and they aren't looking too bad. Maybe Disney always planned on expanding them, maybe they were waiting for input, who knows. But funny how there is only this one thread talking about the improvements versus the many still bashing it. Just goes to show you, some people are happier complaining than just being happy.

Well-said.

I can think of one person who fits into that category off the top of my head. :lmao:

Just kidding... well somewhat. ;)

I was part of the party that bashed the (old) new kids menu because I experienced it firsthand and totally found it unacceptable. But, I truly believe that due to all the complaints that happened in the early days of the new menu, Disney did make changes to them, tweaked them slightly. Notice how the "Just Dip It" is gone because let's face it, it SUCKED!

I'm glad I complained, because if I didn't and many others didn't, the old rendition of the new menu would still be floating around.

I mentioned in another thread that it hasn't been long enough for a "change" to have been excuted through the whole system, so it seems likely that this was, as we were told it was when the new child menus were introduced, a test. With a test, you try different things to see what works best, and then you go with the winners, or backtrack completely if none of the things you tried worked out. With the changes as of December 3, it seems that the test is over, and they're deploying what worked best in the test throughout the park.

Back in the day, we had four food groups. Then came the food pyramid with six groups. That was revamped into the "new" food pyramid. The new food pyramid has 5 groups- grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, meat and beans. Exercise and limits on fat, sugars, and salt are also a part of the "new" pyramid.

I have the kids menu from WCC. My scanner needs the drivers reloaded so I'll have to take a pic of it and come edit & post it. I was dissapointed that the 'dip it' wasn't on there becuase I was planning on ordering it for my little ones. However the older 2 and dh ordered the skillet so I didn't even bother to ask if they could accomidate the dip it - I knew there would be enough food anyways.

oh and yes - the girls were allowed bottomless shakes as a drink on the DDP at WCC.

OK here's the WCC menu as of Dec 5, 2006

As I said on another thread, we only ate at 2 places with new kids' menus last week - the Plaza Restaurant and Sunshine Seasons. DD7 was happy with both places. She actually used to complain that all the kids' menus used to include mainly burgers, chicken tenders and mac-n-cheese (she is not a fan of these kid-faves). The new menus we encountered included sandwiches, soups and other interesting and healthy choices that more adventurous eaters may prefer.

I understand but it still is hard when the first change happened right before your trip after you had spents tons of time pouring over the menus and working with you son who has texture problems to eat. And making your ADR's 180 out....IT worked out for us.... Thank goodness
