Some of Epcot's most popular live entertainment groups are being retired from the park in September.

World Showcase Players will have its final performance September 25 2014.
Off Kilter in Canada, Mo’Rockin in Morocco and the Spirit of America will be performing for the final time on September 27 2014.
Not yet confirmed, but the British Revolution may also be concluding on September 27 2014.

New live entertainment planned includes a traditional Berber music and dance troupe in Morocco, a corps of dynamic flag-waving performers in Italy, a thrilling lumberjack-inspired show in Canada, and a Celtic folk music ensemble at the United Kingdom.

I'm so angry about this that I can't even see straight. I've already written a heartfelt email to guest relations expressing my shock and dismay. Who the heck thought it would be a good idea to replace Off Kilter with freaking LUMBERJACKS?! Are they SERIOUS?!! :furious:

Some people say the parks are stale and nothing is changing.
Other people like shows and don't want them to change.
Some people say both things and want the things they love to stay the same and everything else change.

You can't keep everyone happy.

Even though I am not a very frequent visitor to WDW I would rather see a different show every visit than the same thing over and over and over again.

WOW! :scared1: I'm speechless!

....and they just cut jamitors and push, the talking trash can several months ago!

Maybe if the WDW fans are willing to pay a $99 premium in addition to their MYW tickets, Disney will let them stay.

Some of it I'm okay with others not. I really love the Fife and Drum Corp and now they are going away.

I'm not happy about it. :sad2:

How Sad. We did a backstage magic tour about 3 weeks ago and our tour guides other job was being part of the fife and drum corp. She'd worked for Disney many years and said she now had her favourite two jobs.

Terrible news. Flag waving and Lumberjacks? really?

Off Kilter always draws a crowd and regulars come to the parks just to see them.

I am glad I sat through both Mo Rockin' and Off Kilter last week.

I guess I'll always have my Off Kilter CDs. They were a must see for me every time I went. Watching them perform with a cold beer in my hand and the warm Florida sunshine was a highlight of every trip. :sad1:

So sad, I planned my EPCOT days around Mo'Rockins schedule. I will miss them the most, but also enjoyed Off Kilter. :headache::sad:

I thought the British Revolution band at the UK pavilion was not well done when I saw it a couple of years ago. The performers weren't British, didn't try to imitate British accents, and didn't do a very impressive job imitating the sounds of the British invasion hits. My impression was that they aren't really fans of those particular songs or groups, and didn't go "all out" to mimic them the way tribute bands usually do.

I assume that whoever is in the Celtic replacement band will do a better job since you're unlikely to find people willing to play the music who aren't already big fans of the genre.

The lumberjack show could be a lot of fun, if it's like the shows I used to see at summer fairs in Canada ... saw-offs, log rolling, tree climbing and so on.

At the American pavilion they have a universe of musical/entertainment culture they can present. Think of ragtime, bluegrass, country, swing, blues, jazz, rock, hip-hop ... as long as they hire people that are inspired!

Where is the entertainment that will make you say wow... where is the kind of entertainment that you would only find in Disney?

Previously Disney had the following (and more):
four 4 a dollar
push
mobile muppet lab
lucky the dinosaur
the adventurers club
and all the above mentioned artists
etc

and now........? hmm. I'm sure the new shows will briefly stop crowds of first time visitors for a few minutes. But it certainly does not sound like the kind of stuff we'll all be talking about in a positive way in years to come.

The transformation into just another theme park continues.

There's something comforting and familiar about seeing that some things don't change over the years. Change for the sake of change isn't always a good thing.

There was also a nice little band called the Hitmen in DHS not to mention the excellent marching band in Future World. It's a shame.

I can only speak for me but I have no interest in watching lumberjacks do whatever they do and that Moroccan replacement sounds awful on youtube. Flags? Um, no.
