I am planning our Oct 31-November 6th vacation with my hubby, myself and our son (13) & daughter (9), and my mom (65). We haven't been for 5 years but last time did alot and stayed 9 days. Kids are older and pulling them out of school is getting harder so we are only staying 6 nights. My sister, her husband and 2 boys (10, 8) are joining us. They are not planners, know nothing about Disney and would sleep all morning if they could. Frontier changed their flights and now they arrive Thurs late 10/30 and depart Wed 11/5 which changes things a bit. We are on the Quick service dining and will eat when & where we want. We are not really interested in characters.

Our plans:
Arrive 10/31 @ MCO 1215. Go to Pop and hang out or hit Downtown Disney for dinner. My sister will do her 1st MK day here. We will meet for dinner. No halloween party for us. I think its alot of money.
11/1- AK (Rec)-RD til we are done. Early night
11/2- MK (Rec)- RD. Not sure if we should take a break or not? Not a MSEP night (have never seen the parade but am trying to stick to REC parks).
11/3 Epcot (REC). Do we have to RD Epcot? My sister is going to kill me. She is not a RD person but is willing to give it a try. I was hoping to try to give everyone a break today and stay at Epcot 12-9???? Or am I better off, RD, Break, back in evening for F&W.
11/4 HS (REC). RD til we are done.
11/5 MK (REC) Day 2. RD. Just my family. My sis will be leaving. Break or not? My sister will do this same itinerary on 10/31

Any suggestions? I need to book our fastpasses on 9/1. Edit Post

Do you have the option for times to go your own way? I can say that as a non-planner, it would drive me crazy to spend the day with someone who has every moment planned. Have you asked your sister about her idea of a great trip? The expectations may be different.

We were there that same time last year with a 6yo, also on QS dining plan at Pop. It was great. We didn't do breaks and didn't miss them. We were done at AK in time to go DTD for dinner. MK was RD to after the MSEP. DHS was until after Fantasmic, but we had lots of just wandering time late in the day. My advice is to plan your FP+ well and your RD time. If you do that you should have minimal waits and get things done quickly.

We have done big family trips at other times. We planned mornings together, afternoons on own, and dinner together. It seemed to work well. It may depend on how many rides you have in common.

If you want to do both Test Track and Soarin' without outlandish standby times, I would suggest going to EP at RD as you can't get FP+ for both rides. If you are only interested in riding one of those headliners, 12 - 9 pm could work.
