Hi all. I would like to ask you guys a few things if poss? Just a thew little bits i want to be put at rest about.
I have never travelled abroad before and this trip at Disneyland Paris will be my first ever experiance of flying/ booking flights ect

1: I booked my whole trip threw disney and have got flight from Exeter to CDG flying with Flybe. Has anyone on the forum flown from exeter and know what its like?

2: I have recived, via email, E-Ticket reciepts with all four of us traveling with the brake down of what flights, times, plane ect Also included in this is booking number and ticket number. I assume that i just have to take these reciepts to the check in desk to book in for our flight?

3: How hard is it to find the VEA Buses when you get to CDG? I had them included in my holiday price so am gonna use them. I know the TGV service is better but i got the transfers chucked in as a freebie.

4: I have recived a email from Disney containing the holiday confirmation with a barcode on the front page. I take it that i just take this letter to the Cheyenne and they scan it ect?

I may seem a little dim lol but i just want to make it as trouble free trip for me, my girls and the other half as possible. I really cant wait for the trip :) and am so excited :cheer2: . We are going 29th nov to 2nd dec, staying at the Cheyenne. Any info you can give me will be much appreciated!!

Many thanks

Jamie

Never flown from exeter, but have from Bristol, it's always pretty easy tbh. There will be screens up telling when your flight is ready to board, you'll go to the Flybe desk to check in and hand over your luggage, then thru the security checks and you'll be away!

Just print off your emails and bring them with you - you really will be fine.

I've not used the VEA bus myself but can remember coming out of the terminal at CDG and the bus stop was right in front so I'm sure you'll find it easily.

Thanks for you help guys. It puts my mind at rest :)

Any more info will be greatly recived

Many thanks

If you look at the VEA website (link to it is also in The Very Useful Info sticky) the main VEA bus stop is located outside Terminal 2E/F, that's the bus stop that we saw. I believe if your flight goes into another terminal that there are smaller shuttle buses to get you to outside 2E/F.

:goodvibes:goodvibesHi, it's just a case of turning up at the counter with your bags and the etickets. They will check your passports and flight numbers and give you a boarding pass or you can check-in online normally 48 hours before the flight but you'll still have to queue to drop off bags.

If you check in online, they give you an eBoarding card to print, they scan that at security otherwise they scan the one you get checking in. Some airlines have a seperate drop-off for luggage for online checking in. At Edinburgh, you often have to queue with people checking in normally. One year we asked where the drop-off was and were told to go to the front of the queue next so we did and a hen party started shouting at us, "we've checked in online" I said "and were told to do this". "So have we!" I appologised and they were all ok apart from one who wouldn't let it go, her pals calmed her down though! Apparently she didn't like flying!:lmao:

Be aware of hand luggage regulations, bottles must be less than 100 ml or they will be confiscated. My colleague had a 150ml afterhsave botle with very little left taken from him and we've had shower gell taken as well. All liquids, gells and pastes must be taken out prior to passport control and put in little tranparent ziplock bags that they will give you. This includes make-up, nail varnish, toothpaste etc. If they are in hold luggage, you're fine.

You will need your passports for checking in, passport control (before you get to the gates) and possibly again at boarding then when you get to CDG so keep them handy!

Check your flight regulations, Easyjet only allow one bag, you used to get away with a handbag and a bag or a camera bag and a bag but only one now, it'll be on Fly Be's website what you can take and how big.

You will be given a gate number when you board, you normally need to be at the gate at least 30 mins before the flight takes off but the screens will say go to gate or wait in lounge. Some airports call for boarding, some don't and you have to check the screens. Just try not to be the last on the flight and holding it up - been there and it's a walk of shame to your seats!

One you've gone through passport control and are airside, the gift shops are duty free but not always that cheap. You will need your boarding pass to buy anything and some shops won't give you alcohol there and then, you collect it when boarding.

Not used the VEA buses but CDG is quite well signposted and there will be signs to buses. Try and get back earlier, CDG is huge and it can be difficult to find where to check-in, you need to check the boards.

The French often refer to CDG by the name of the nearby village - Roissy - but the buses should be marked CDG. You often see it as Roissy-CDG on maps.

Hope some of this is some use, if you know it already, just ignore!

cheers

If it is Flybe, you'll be pleased to know that they've moved from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2E, so finding the VEA will be a doddle. :thumbsup2

We've flown with Flybe a couple of times from Cardiff and I've just about sussed the whole up, down and around of T1, will kind of miss the moving walkways though !

Do flybe ever have sales? I just noticed they fly to Paris CDG from Birmingham, but the taxes and charges make the flights pretty expensive :confused3.

Thanks Guys!!!

All the info you have given me will really help :)

I am flying with Flybe so hopefully it should be pretty straight foward to find the VEA Coach then.

Its only 22 days untill i go now so am getting super excited :dance3:

Thanks all again for you help :worship:

they do elaine, but always seems hit and miss on 'if' u get the sales prices :confused3 not sure how close u r to east mids, as bmi baby fly from there and u can get quite cheap flights

I have used the VEA twice. It is so well sign posted, and just outside the terminal. The staff in the airport are very helful if you find you can't locate it. They go often, so you never have long to wait. Have a great time

thanks nikki, i used to use bmibaby all the time, but the last twice I've booked with them, one or other of my flights has ended up being cancelled, and for March next year they don't have morning flights out to Paris midweek.
