Sea World is starting to "get it" (a little LOL).

At the outdoor drink area near Shamu's Happy Harbor they are selling "allergy safe" snacks. They covered the "usual" soy, peanut, dairy and gluten free. There were two bag sizes. On small bag with about three snacks was 3.99 the bigger bag with more single serve snack items was 8.99.

I also noticed they had signs outside the entrance that showed what size cooler is allowed to bring food for special diets. Before, no coolers were allowed, we had to hand carry anything.

I should have taken a picture of the sign.

Actually the sign is for "regular" people. Those of us with special diets can bring in what we need. :thumbsup2

So what were the snacks?

Thanks for sharing!!! Always good to hear about places having allergy safe foods.

How funny is it that when I saw the snacks I knew you would ask that? LOL

I did not get a complete list, but I know there were some "Enjoy life" products. I will be back over there later this week and I will get a complete list of both bags.

I was a little distracted by a certain little girl who has just found out she could have the watermelon icee;)

You know me too well! LOL

Yay for Enjoy Life products!!! I was thrilled recently when an area hospital started selling these (total OT rant but it should not be so difficult to get allergy safe food at major hospitals; they're all about healthcare and this is a huge healthcare issue after all) and for a lot cheaper than WDW.

I can see why she'd be so excited. How wonderful!

This makes me so happy! :cool1:
We went to Sea World before we had our son and loved the park. We had been very concerned about taking him with the lack of foods he could eat.

You are allowed to bring in safe food for your son (we do it all the time). In fact I have been to SW twice since I said I was going to check the contents of those bags and forgot:sad1:. We pack a small softsided lunchbox and have never had a problem.

I am pleased we were actually able to eat "regular" food last week (and no upcharge:cool1:).

Most (if not all) SW counter service places have things like salads and cut fruit (and new fruit cups :cool1:) that can work for some allergies.

I promise I will go find out the contents of the allergy safe snacks, I also want to find out if they sell them in more than one place.
