-Will the Magical Express pick me up from the airport?
-If not, what are my other options for getting to the hotel? What do I do with a rental car if I really didn't want one during my trip?
-Do you have to walk through the lobby to get to the pool?
-If I get a teacher rate can I still get the 'free room on my birthday' and/or the $99 for a second room?

Looking to go first week in August. Thanks!

I can only answer your Magical Express question. No, you cannot use ME going to/from the Swan&Dolphin. There are different options for your transportation. You can rent a car, use any of a number of towncar services, or use a Mears shuttle. I've opted for a towncar service for my stay at the Dolphin. I don't want to drive, and I don't want to have to visit other resorts before I am dropped off, as would happen using Mears.

ME will not bring you to the Dolphin.
You can take a Mears shuttle or a taxi.
You can rent a car from Alamo to get to the Dolphin and leave it there because there's an Alamo desk in the lobby.
To return to the airport, just rent again and leave it at the airport.

Once you arrive, you can use the Disney buses or Friendship boats to get to the parks and DTD.

No, you don't go through the lobby to get to pool.

Getting back to airport is easy, towncars are always available outside Dolphin.
Just grab a taxi or shuttle to the Dolphin, or like the other person said, a one way rental car, twice, as you don't really need a car when you are at the Dolphin.

Enjoy!

just a note to the OP., I think it is worth checking into the shuttle or towncar services. We noticed this at the beginning of the month that a Taxi from is airport is quite expensive..... somewhere around $70.00 if I recall correctly.

Can I book the Dining Plan if I stay at the Dolphin and buy part tickets?

I took a taxi from MCO to The Dolphin in December - it was $65 one way.

Just got back from the dolphin last week. Booked on the Gov't rate, and I was able to get the second room for 99.00
When I called, they said they had no rooms available for the 99.00 rate for my dates, and I would have to pay Gov't rate for both rooms. I asked her to check when the 99.00 rates were available, and it was one day later than my arrival date. I booked the 2 rooms first night at Gov't rate, then I was able to get the 99.00 on the second room the remainder of the trip. When I checked out, I was given the second room at 99.00 for the entire stay.
I was in the west wing, and it was perfect to get to the pool, picabo's and the bus stop

Another question.
How old is a child at the Swan/dolphin. do they have to be under 17 like at the Disney resorts?
thanks!
