A few comments about tickets from a person who works at tickets at a water park (this is not official).
1. Tickets purchased in 2005 will expire 14 days after first use unless the "no expiration" option is purchased.
2. You cannot tell from the issue date on the ticket when it was actually first used. I have seen people come through the gates with tickets they have bought months ago.
3. If you have an old ticket which will not work in the turnstiles (either no magnetic stripe or the stripe has been demagnetized) we can enter the ticket identification into the computer. If it still has entries available the system will issue a new ticket showing what kind of ticket it originally was as well as the date we reissue it. It will be treated in the main computer as a replacement and will actually have available what was remaining on the old ticket.
4. I have seen people come to the gate with old park hopper plus tickets where all the plus options have been used, or old (pre-2005) park hoppers with no plus options. These cannot be upgraded. The two choices are to apply the remaining dollar value (based on original price) to a new ticket or to pay the price for a Water Park ticket.
5. The bniometric information is stored on the ticketing computer system. If you have a pre-2005 multi-day ticket with a magnetic stripe (even if only one day remains) you will have to use the finger scan and the biometrics will be tied to that ticket and it will not be transferrable to another person.
6. The Guest Sevices locations at all parks (including the water parks) can see, for each valid ticket, the date and time it was used for each park entrance and what is still available. Locations away from the parks do not have access to this information.
