Some BLT Questions

We're renting points to stay at BLT next year:cool1: and really looking forward to it. I have a "standard" questions and a "strange" one...

Standard-
1) Is it a pain to have to walk to CR for Bus/Monorail transportation? Just looking at maps looks like it's about a 5-10 minute walk with yung'ins if you're in the North tower.

2) DD(12) is a softball pitcher. We're actually going to miss part of her season to go on vacation next year. Yes, it's vacation, but I still need her to practice. If she doesn't it would take the rest of the season to get back into form. All I need is ~50' of area for her to pitch to me (we're not batting or anything). I'm looking around the tennis courts (or maybe use the tennis courts) and they're might be an area there. Some kind of wall, fence, or something else to stop the balls that I can't catch would be good too. Also thinking about going to the beach, let her throw in the sand. :confused3 Another possibility would be going to WWS, but transportation there & back would double or triple the amount of time we need to practice (usually about 30-45 minutes). Any ideas?

Thanks

1) The walk to CR is barely a walk, maybe five minutes from your door to the bus stop or monorail platform.

2) When we stayed at BLT for three days in January, we didn't see anyone using the tennis courts, and our room overlooked them, so I wouldn't see any harm in the two of you using it to practice so long as you yielded to any tennis players who came along.

Have a great trip!

The walk to transportation from Bay Lake Tower should not be an issue. 5 minutes at the most.

There are some grassy areas near and around the tennis courts. That may be an option for your practice.

Have fun. :cool1:

We'll be booking our first stay at BLT in Oct and I was wondering the same thing about walking to and from transportation. Thanks for the info.

There is a HUGE grassy area out in front of CR.

Back in 2005, my stepson and I brought our gloves and played catch out there a number of times.

When we stayed at BLT, we had 1BR in the south tower, stayed on the 5th floor and it was perfect. Same level as the skybridge so the walk to the monorail was no biggie.

seem people on the tennis court - although generally at night - it is lighted.

there is an area - grass/sidewalks been BLT and CR - where she can throw - your just have to make sure to miss the other guests.

you can definitely take the boat over to FW - it has lots of room.

We just got back from BLT and the walk to the monorail was no big deal. It is less than 5 minutes. I have stayed at several Disney hotels and most of them have longer walks to the bus stops. We stayed at the Polynesian the past 2 yrs and had a longer walk from our longhouse to the monorail. This was a piece of cake. The walk to the bus stop was just fine too. The bonus to walking the pedway to the morail is the awesome view of the lake on your left, the monorails and MK on your right and a nice breeze.

We walked to the Magic Kingdom a few times too. There is a walking path and it takes maybe 10 minutes. The Contemporary is the first monorail stop after the Magic Kingdom so if you ride the monorail to MK you will stop at the other resorts before getting to MK and it can take 20 minutes or so. We would walk to MK and ride the monorail back. But, either way it is pretty fast.

I second the tennis court suggestion. There was no one there when I was there.

I would highly recommend BLT. It is my favorite hotel. We had a 2 bdr with a Lake view and it was beautiful.

Have a great trip!
