Some AP Renewal Questions

We now have Fl Res - PAPs and will have to renew July 5. I was looking at the pricing chart and there is a listing for PAP renewal charter.

What is the charter part about?

Does anyone know if you can downgrade to an AP from a PAP and get the renewal rate or can you only get the exact same type. My guess is that they will let you upgrade but not downgrade.

Anyone know for sure?

Does Disney still send out a renewal notice or is it up to the passholder to renew?

That cheaper "charter" rate applies to people who have had AP's since they first started having AP's (which I believe is at least 20 years). You can switch from PAP to AP and vice versa at time of renewal and pay the respective renewal rate (thus you can go up or down with no penalty). Disney does send out renewal notices but as I have learned not everyone always get them (they missed one for us last year).
