I have just been given a quote with Boots Insurance for me,dh,dd7+dd3 of £79(kids go free) for 16nights to Florida for next year.I was wondering if anyone;----
:- Has used Boots,comments good+bad welcome.
:- Think that this is a good deal.

Normally i take the insurance that is 'dished' out to me at the time of booking,i booked direct with Virgin and was pretty sure i could get it much cheaper than their's.Boots is the cheapest i have come across-i have checked Asda's,Post Office +some others but they have all come in at over £100.Being as though i have never booked insurance on it's own before is there anything i need to look for in the small print etc...Would really appreciate some help. Thanks very much.x.

hi michelle. we have booked with columbus direct(found on web) really cheap but same benefits as others. we always used argos before but they were alot dearer this time. lenny.

That sounds quite cheap for a single trip quote, does it include personal possesions? If your home insurance covers this then sometimes you can take this option off your travel insurance and make it cheaper.

How many times a year do you travel? If you travel more than once a year it normally works out cheaper to get annual insurance. Annual insurance will also cover you if you had to cancel your holiday due to illness for instance, not just for the duration of your trip.

Hi Michelle we have worldwide insurance with our home and contents insurance and its free:thumbsup2 My mam and dad have it with their account at their bank so depending on who you bank with theirs is Lloyds TSB, hope you get sorted:thumbsup2 It does seem a reasonable quote that you have got though:) speak soon.

Hi,(only need single trip)
I believe it includes personal possesions(as i said i'm not to clued up on the small print)it says--personal belongings-securing your home-passport,driving licence, travel docs-your personal money-valuables limit-single article limit.Although these amounts don't seem high to me:confused3 .But some of these if i needed to use would incur a £50 excess(and sometimes each person).x.

you could always try confused.com
they load a whole list of travel insurers and their prices, and what is covered.

Hi, not sure if this will help but when I booked my travel insurance for my trip in May 2008 I used www.moneysupermarket.com and followed through their link for travel insurance.

It gives various choices but I ended up using Columbus Direct. It cost me £42.90 for an annual policy (2 adults and 2 children). I did compare it by going direct to the Columbus Direct website and it was much more expensive. HTH :)

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far-i will be nosing on the sites you have all mentioned later, very grateful for your advice:thumbsup2 .x.

take a look at moneysupermarket.com (might be .co.uk) for their best insurance deal. I paid about £48 for an annual policy for my family with a reputable company (Lloyds backed).

hi michelle. should ve said on my first reply that i too used moneysupermarket.com for columbus direct and it really was cheapest . lenny(leanne)

I used Moneysupermarket as well.

You want to check the Medical cover is for £10 million.

Hi Everyone,
Well i tried moneysupermarket.com and have been given a quote of £45-07 for the 4 of us.Which seems a fantastic price. But i have never heard of them--Swiftcover.com:confused3 .It says that they are part of AXA insurance.
It says £10million medical cover,£3,000 cancellation,£1,500 personal belongings,£200 personal cash(is that right-seems a very low offer if we were to lose our money),£300 passport+travel docs amongst others.
Please advise,as i previously said i have never booked insurance seperatley so don't know whats right, wrong, good or bad+most importantly of all if we are properly covered.Cheers you guys:thumbsup2 .x.

I've seen adverts for them on the TV but thats all I know about them. I took a risk and went with a company i'd never heard of when I booked mine.

Oh and my Lost Cash amount is £200 as well. I think its only ever a low amount because they know people would say they had a lot more on them otherwise plus to discourage people from carrying round a lot of cash.
