Some advice please? UPDATE post 23! i did it!

well i did it i was working again tonight and was closing by myself in the deli. there he was, on isle 1 stocking right in front of the deli.

i got up the courage, walked out and was heading towards him. thinking "im going to say hi, introduce myself and start a conversation." almost to him.. and BAM 4 of of his friends who are also stock come up and start talking to him ... so i just kept on walking

i walked aroun and came back up isle 4 and ran back to the deli defeated. he seen me walk by i know it. well about a hour or so later, hes walking by again heading into the back so i go to say hi and sort of shout it saying "Hi Michael!" and well i must of scared him to death, for he was not expecting it he waved and said hi.

well i didnt see him for a while so i belived "yea i did, i scared him off for good" then i look up and he walks up to the cowner and starts talking to me then a manager was coming and he had to run off back to work. i was so happy and smiling while i finished closing the deli.

well im supposed to close down at 9 and be out of there before 9:30. well 10 min. till 9 im righting down things to be thrown out when SNAP my inkpen brakes. it was already bent and it just snapped! so im in a panic, my marker is not working, i cant find a pen on the desk anywere!

well i look around and see micheal on isle 3.. so i toke a deep breath and walked over and asked if i could barrow his inkpen. he smiles and says sure and looks in his pockets and could not find it. so he toke off to the back room to get it from his backpack in the break room. i follow after him when my nametag falls off (i keep on losing it since it wont stay hooked) and i kicked it under the seagfood coolers got to get another in the morning!

well then micheal is coming back towards me and laughs that it was in his pocket the whole time! i thank him and go back to finish writing stuff down. when i was done i found him and gave it back and we talked a little more and said goodnight to eachother.

im so happy right now. i cant wait for work tomorrow! after couple of weeks watching eachother and smiling we are finally talking! thanks everyone for the adivce

Next time he walks by, don't just say "Hi." Say, "Hey, what's up?" That leads to more conversation, usually.

Just a little side note...I used to manage the Photolab department for a very large grocery chain here in Canada. I also did wedding photos on the weekends. You can not imagine how many times I did wedding photos for couples who BOTH worked for the same chain. Sometimes it was the same store and sometimes different locations but it was higher than any other place I have ever worked... Love by the freezer case...how romantic...

I hope he is very nice.

omg funny actully my manager (who had been a friend for years) made a comment today she doesnt want to "catch us" in the freezer. she said its okay as long as she doesnt see

Don't let the same thing happen to you that happened to me. A co-worker and I flirted for almost a year. Everyone we worked with knew how we felt about each other. We were all one huge family at that store. He and I was shy and just could not be the first to do the asking for a date. That date never did happen. He eventually moved to California. I stopped being shy after that.
