Some Advice On Waitlisting

I have never been to WDW during the holidays so I am new to the waitlisting game for this time of year and wanted advice from people that have!

I am going from 12/29-1/7. I was able to get BC studio from 1/2-7.:thumbsup I also booked VWL studio for 1/1 and have waitlisted for 1/30 & 1/31. Is this going to be pretty impossible to get? Just wondered if anyone else has been successful for that time and resort?

Just wondering if I should not even try for VWL. We have never stayed there before and my husband has always wanted to! I keep checking the member website and there are no studios available at this time for those days!

VWL is the smallest DVC resort. It will not be easy to get a reservation at that time of year. We own at VWL and have been waitlisted for one night in Decmber since the 10 month mark. It has not come through and I dont think it will.

That being said, you never know. I would definitely have a back up plan. I hope it comes through for you. VWL is a wonderful resort! Enjoy your vacation.

New Years Eve is the single hardest night to book a DVC room. If I were you I would maximize my chances for a room by wait listing at SSR and OKW, since those are the largest and thus most likely to have an opening. Keep checking online and you might be able to add one day at a time. Once you get something you can always start a new wait list for a different resort if you wish. Good luck!
