Some advice on the RP Driving Experience...

Looking for some advice regarding the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
Was it worth it?

Debating on booking it for my DH as a suprise.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My husband loved it when I surprised him. He admitted, though, that the ride along was a whole lot more fun than driving his own car. They got to go faster and didn't have to follow behind the instructor. HTH!

I did it, along with a girlfriend's DH back in '06 ... it was GREAT!!! We were signed up to do the drive, then decided to do the ride-along first so we'd get a feel for the track.

Just remember that you need to be able to drive a manual transmission car (clutch). I hadn't driven one in a decade or more and ground the gears a bit ... oops!

Oh and it took up most of the afternoon ... driver's attend a short instructional class, then suit up, we had 2 sets of cars on the track at a time, once everyone finished their drives we went back to the classroom for the "closing ceremonies."
