Hello all. I know that Disney dining is a favorite topic for a lot of folks here so I thought I'd throw something out for you guys. I really need some advice. We do not plan on getting the DDP for our next trip in April. We don't need to eat at a sit down restaurant every night and are not very picky eaters. We are more than happy to grab something at the food court and be on our way. That combined with the fact that they took away the appetizer and tip is just not feasible for us. But we do want to have at least 2-3 sit down meals. Do you think in this case it would make more sense to get the DDP? The restaurants we want to eat at are Le Cellier, Kona, and Crystal Palace and will be paying OOP. We'll do counter services and food court for everything else. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks a bunch :)

hello. To make this decision you need to be informed of what is included in the DDP. You could eat 1TS 1CS and 1snack per day with the dining plan. If you were planning to eat a TS meal every night of your trip then I would say it would definitely be worth it. But if you plan to say money doing mostly CS meals then this is probably not your best bet.
Good luck with your decision! I know it's a tough one. For me personally I don't think I would purchase the dining plan unless it was offered for free again as it is just a ton of food for any one person. Definitely more than you need and let's face it most of don't need dessert with every meal- at least I know I don't!

Good luck and have a great trip!

hmm, tough question to answer.

1st, i don't see a question about ADR's, but from looking at your ticker, i would suggest making your ADR's soon, at least for the 3 restaurants you mentioned, so that you can get the times that you want, instead of being stuck with whatever is available.

2nd, you didn't say how long you trip is going to be. if you trip is only 4-5 days, i'd buy the plan and find 1-2 more restaurants to go to and just eat the CS meals on the fly. Also, you don't need to use your TS meals at night, they could be breakfast, lunch or dinner, and character meals.

losing the app and tip sux, but i still like the convienence of the DDP and pricing it out i'd prolly spend about the same amount OOP, because we would eat less at the meals, but would end up eating more snacks as a result. We also get to eat at restaurants that we wouldn't usually eat at if we were paying.

lastly, have a great trip.
