Solo Traveling Resort

I'm going to DisneyWorld for Two nights in November and am looking at a few hotels and curious if the cost of spending more on a room is worth it. I'm a male in my mid 30s and will have a Two day midday park hopper pass, so I will have some time to swim and walk the resort in the mornings. The three hotels I've priced myself into are Port Orleans Riverside ($225/night-King Bed) , Coronado ($200/night - Two Queens), and Animal Kingdom ($300/night-King Bed), and all of them are essentially Standard View. I'm favoring going to AK because its the deluxe hotel and am getting the most savings there, but will still run $150-200 more for my stay. Can anyone offer any information on if the other hotels may have their advantages? Thanks!

Of the three you mentioned I would choose AK if you can swing it. There is so much to see there and all the details are amazing. I have stayed at Riverside several times and really love it, especially the Alligator Bayou section because of the lush vegetation.

ETA: Riverside has the boat transportation to Disney Springs that makes it a nice choice too for access to dining and shopping.

AKL if the extra cost isn't a hardship. There's always a chance you could be upgraded to a better view.

If you might like to go to DS in the evenings, then POR is a good choice.Otherwise, I would also go with AKL.

Dont forget Swan and Dolphin since they have 60 day FP and full Disney bus transportation. I prefer the Swan/Dolphin when travelling solo as its more of a business hotel and there are more single travelers there.

Yes, proximity to Disney Springs would be really nice. I'm not sure how many restaurants are open before noon, but that might be a nice combo with the midday ticket.

I’d go with POR - it’s so pretty, the pool is great, and you can walk between that one and POFQ... where you can get beignets. The boat to DS is also great so you could head there early one morning, wander, and then take a bus to Monorail or Boardwalk resort for great options to monorail/walk/take a boat to MK, Epcot, or HS. Plus, you can take the ~$150 savings and buy something nice or get something great to eat - I’d personally use that money for Food & Wine booths.

Did you check for club level at CSR? That would give you breakfast, dinner, adult beverages and snacks. It also gives you a place to hang out vs sitting alone in a restaurant.

If unfamiliar with it , let me know. I stayed there a few weeks ago and going back in a few days, An awesome value IMO.

Another vote for AKL - we stayed there Sept. 2018 and I was surprised by how much the resort offered. I had wished I had planned a resort day.

The only downside is it is more remote than most other resorts. We used Disney Transportation and only had 1 issue with it taking a long time to go to Disney Springs. ( This was a one off - the driver was new and had an issue with the bus ). It was a non-issue for us to be a bit more removed but it's worth mentioning.

I go to WDW solo frequently and have stayed at all level of resort. Generally my view is: if I know I'll spend more time at the resort I go deluxe, if I know I won't I go value. I generally don't enjoy the moderates (which I have stayed at on family and friend trips) when I'm alone simply because of their size (I would get stuck in the furthest building and have to walk a mile), crowds, and the fact I'm not getting a whole lot more than I would at a value. I stayed at AKL solo in a standard view in June this summer and it was awesome, really relaxing, good pool, and I could either walk around and look at animals or look at them from my balcony since I got a "partial savannah" room (the CM at check in called it the "dirty savannah" since it overlooks work areas, I didn't care because a mama and baby giraffe hung out there a ton). Between the QS and TS options at both Kidani and Jambo house there was a lot to choose from, and I just really enjoyed it. The price isn't so outrageous that you have to forgo anything else on your trip like some other deluxe so I say go for it.
