I just got back a little over a week ago. SoG thanked me for my patronage and then offered me a "second stay" deal for the time period of Aug 5 - Sep 30. 25% off the room, which would be $72.50 for me. That's pretty good. But I'm surprised. Do you think they aren't filling their rooms? I've never gotten an offer like this from them.

My guess would be that since Disney is offering 30 - 40% off their rooms to Military during that same time period, SOG is having people cancel out.

I think they are trying to get their rooms filled for that typically slow time period just like the Disney Resorts with their free dining. A lot of people are also leery about going during that time because of last year's hurricanes.

What? Oh man, we didn't know about this discount. Bummer. Would have qualified, but booked a package through AAA. Just paid off my balance yesterday. :(

I checked SoG for availability during that time period not too long ago. I figured it would be booked, but we would not have had a problem getting a room. We just decided to stay somewhere else for this trip.

If you booked it yourself, just call and ask them to switch you from the AAA rate to the military rate if it's available. Up to 3 nights is 30% off (EXJ), 4 or more nights is 40% off (EXK). If you booked it through your TA, I would call and have them add the code to your reservations. That's a lot of money to give up without trying... think of what you could do with it ;).

We just booked a one night stay at SOG for Oct 28-29 and my father asked if there were two rooms available, the answer was that there was 200 rooms available!!! :earseek: I thought around Halloween it would be busy, but 200 open!?!?! Wow!!!

Just letting y'all know!

Chris

I'm curious how you got the offer as I registered at the SOG website a few months ago to receive special offers and haven't received anything. I'm glad for you, I'm just trying to figure out how to improve my chances. Thanks!

We just booked their free breakfast plan, was on their website, and they will willing to extend it past the 9/30 date, since we were checking in on the 28th.

I got the deal because I actually stayed there in June. When I got back (a few weeks later) I got an e-mail from them for a special that they were only offering to those who had been in earlier part of the year. They called it a "second stay" discount.
