We have a 6-person family suite Jan. 5-12...celebrating my husband's return from Iraq...:yay:

Does anyone have any NEW photos of them? Are they in the redecorated section of the hotel?

Where in the building are these suites located? We want to be close to the food and the buses, could care less about the pool in January.

The photos on SOG and allears look a little outdated...I am hoping the suite is nice!

Love any photos or information you have! Thanks!

I don't have any pics, but I hope you find some.

BTW please pass this message on to your hubby:

THANK YOU! and GOD BLESS YOU!! :grouphug:

We drove by that resort on a Disney Bus and OMGoodness it looks BEAUTIFUL! Hope you have a GREAT stay and if I find anything I will surely post it for you!

BTW, my step brother just got home safely a couple of months ago and please tell your husband THANK YOU and GOD BLESS from me and my family! :flower3:

UPDATE! Here you go.... http://www.shadesofgreen.org/suites.htm

First, thanks to your DH and your family for your service & sacrifices!

I don't have any info about the suites in particular, but we had a WONDERFUL SOG stay in September. :thumbsup2 We were in the new section, 5th floor facing the golf courses. IMHO, the new section is every bit as nice as any of the Disney Deluxe resorts (remember, SOG used to be a Disney Deluxe), minus the flat screen TV. The older section is nice as well, but as you said, somewhat dated as far as decor.

Don't worry, you'll have a FAB, more than well-deserved vacation making many wonderful memories! :wizard:

Dont have any photos either, but when we were there in July I talked to some folks who were in the suites and were very pleased and impressed. In fact, they spoke so glowingly of it that I wished I had checked into the possibility of a suite. Great resort, just minimize your dining there.

I seem to remember someone saying a while ago that the suite they stayed in (located in the new section) did not have any AC vents in the bedroom. They said it was very hot in there and was wondering if it was a design flaw. :confused3

There are suites in both sections. The old section would be the Evergreens. We stayed in a suite in the new section. There were 7 of us. It was very nice. The rooms were huge. It was like staying in a one bedroom apartment. The bathrooms were great. But there were no windows or balcony in the bedroom. It was very stuffy. In order to stay cool in the bedroom we froze the others in the living area. The suite in the old section may be better ventilated, I don't know.

The king size bed and murphy bed were comfortable. The pull out couches were.....pull out couches. They were queen size, but let the kids sleep on them! I would prefer to get two adjoining rooms with 4 queen size beds than go the suite route again. JMHO.

Actually it's only the four of us going now...SOG is totally booked...wonder if they have a suite waiting list, so we could swap our suite for a regular room?

I may try to do that...

we took the suite because we could not get two rooms. It was the only thing available. It was nice and I am glad I stayed in it once. I just don't need to again.

I'd give SOG a call and see what they can do. Also, they do offer overflow rates at Disney resorts if SOG is totally booked for the time you want. I'd check out all of my options before I made any big decisions. You may also want to check to see if Disney is offering any deals during that time (you can check the code/rate threads here on the DIS) if you can't stay at SOG.

Just a couple of ideas, just in case. Hopefully, they'll be able to accomodate you at SOG!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed . . . and here's some pixie dust! pixiedust: Good luck!!!
