Soft Openings?..

We rode it in California last summer too and loved it, can't wait for our August trip :)

The line looked pretty long tonight. Posted 45 minutes but seemed longer. We passed. We're going to try to get another ride on it before we leave. Maybe tomorrow.

We ended up riding it Friday night and Saturday night. On Friday, the posted wait time was 90 minutes. We were on in 45. On Saturday, the posted time was 75 minutes and we were on in 60. The line really moves and the inside of the building has fun stuff to see and play with. They were also running single riders, but no express. Worth the wait for us since we won't be back soon.

Express won't be available until the official opening.

Yeah, it took us about 45 minutes on Thursday. Definitely worth it for the first time. But 45 minutes is my waiting in line threshold. I won't ride it again if it goes over that.

we waited about 30 mins last night but it was a bit chaotic as we got there just as the ride was opening and people were just pushing to get on. The line is quite deceiving and there is enough to jeep you entertained whilst you wait.

I went by several times this morning and nothing. No one was talking. I guess they are doing softs in the evenings mostly.

Were here now. I talked to a tm and he said it could be any time. No set time frames. If you happen to see people in line get in line basically.

Awesome ride and much better than Spider-Man. We were sitting on the stairs in the New York section across from the entrance and noticed the NEST detail grow from 4 to 6 to 9 and figured it would open soon. Once the gate opened, people seemed to be running from everywhere.

All in all, great, hot, Orlando theme park day with the new stuff in Springfield and getting on Transformers.

Glad you got to ride it.

I was there today and they opened at 2:30 pm straight up.
I personally thought it was okay not great. It is almost a carbon copy of Spider-man but I will say the film has a greater sense of depth and width. Just my opinion . . . . .
On the second time through the ride broke down and I got to see how they get you to the second floor.
It is not a ramp but a very fast, quiet, and fluid elevator. You are raised up and lowered in the car. I also noticed what seemed to be tandem elevators to return the cars to the unload platform and what looked like 2 different rooms for the final scene and the cars were lowered in alternate phases.

We must have walked right past you. We walked to the 230 Beetle juice show and I noticed a crowd starting to gather. Saw a a lot of people on the stoop by Walgreens. When we came out of Beetle juice my son said the ride was open. When we walked up the wait time changed from 55-60 minutes. If the ride hadn't stopped while we were in line it would have been a 30 minute wait. We thought it was great. Well worth the almost 2 hours we ended up waiting on it.

Just returned from the darkside last night. Here is what we observed on our stay Thursday thru Sunday. Thursday Night they opened the line and within 15 minutes wait times shot up to 45 minutes by the time we got off Mummy wait time was 90 minutes! Only regular line was open. Friday we did not see the line open at all, however during the day lots of Managment types and workers outside measuring all kinds of things. A few of the workers 'hard hats and tool belts on' so I assume working on the ride that the ride broke down multiple times the previous night (would have been thursday) and overheard planning talk for grand opening and one of the managers said can I mention this "where are we going to position the Helicoptor" thats exactly what he said (no joke). Also talked about extended queues out into the street (which is what they were measuring for) on Opening day June 20th. Saturday night We were able to ride Transformers. Great ride and yes very much like Spider Man but still very cool. FYI Saturday night they had the single rider line open. Posted wait 90 minutes. We jumped in the single rider line and waited about 20 minutes. Also if anyone had AP passes or Make a Wish Buttons they allowed use of the Express Pass Line!

The single rider line was open pretty much every night, except for last night when it was closed early (I was there around 8:40pm and it was closed). You just have to ask for it because if it's almost out the door, they close the line to capacity but they will open it up when the line goes down a bit.

If you're willing to go alone (although many times I have ended up with friends), this is a great way to go since it's a much shorter wait time.

We waited about an hour Sunday night. I agree with the person who said it was just like Spiderman. I liked Spidie better. My kids like Transformers. I felt like it was nothing but metal being thrown at me. I still liked the ride though.

Got back last night:

Friday 5/31 - opened at about 7pm
Saturday 6/1 - opened at night again
Sunday 6/2 - opened at about 3pm in afternoon (had characters on the side to take pictures with , near shreck)

You can see they are expecting long lines - they put up poles and chains on the street one night.

The line once you get in side is deceivingly long - I'd say we waited about 45 minutes once we got inside, but there is a lot to watch and the story is fun.

There is a single rider line but you have to ask, and sometimes they close that line if there are too many people. We waited a good 20+ minutes on the single rider line.

The ride is GREAT!
1) they did away with all that 'jerking,' and spinning nonsense these hybrid rides had in the past (potter, spiderman, simpsons).

2) The only way I can describe this ride is that it is more "Linear" like you are going into the movie and a part of the action. while other rides like spider man have you moving from scene to scene and you are kind of watching what is going on.

3) It uses the same 'gimmicks' as spiderman - spray with water, heat, falling.

4) The audio is state of the art! the sound really makes the ride!

I have a co-worker who is there this week. He texted me that he got in last night but it broke down right when the ride was ending so they let them go again. He stated that he thought it was the best ride he has ever been on. However, he has never been on Spiderman and was going to IOA today. I will be interested to hear what he has to say after he went on Spiderman today.

It opened at 6pm today. I was able to ride it twice, once right when it opened (went through the Single Rider Line as the mob was all pressing through the standby line and got on one of the first cars), and then once around 8:30. The wait time was posted at 60 minutes at that point. Did the SRL again and waited about 20.

I haven't seen the movies (utterly refuse to see anything with the name Michael Bay stamped on it), so I had no idea what was supposed to be happening... if there was actually a storyline to it; didn't seem to be one to me. Technologically though, it was pretty awesome.
