I am looking for a deal on Soda Stream as a gift for my ds15.

I saw it at Bed Bath and Beyond (in the flyer) for $59.99. Has anyone seen it any cheaper?

Thanks

I bought one from Best Buy a few ago. My mother drank a lot of soda so I thought this would save money. It's now in a kitchen cabinet. They have increased the price of the syrups by $2. You can but extra containers but they are expensive. For us in the long run it was cheaper to buy soda when they have the buy 2 get 3 free.

Are these anygood was thinking about one for my wife

We bought ours on Black Friday last year thinking we would save money, or at least break even, on soda. Once the novelty wore off nobody bothered with it anymore. It's on a shelf gathering dust now.

We've had ours since 2008.

We are still on the 2nd CO2 tank that came with the original purchase.

You need to start with super cold water and bottles. We would refrigerate the bottles for a day or toss them in the freezer for 20 minutes to get them cold enough to hold the CO2. Always put the syrup in after you carbonate the water.

It's a neat idea, but the syrups from SS are bad, in my opinion. Until recently, they all had aspartame in them, and I am super sensitive to it (headaches every single time). We have not tried the stuff with "real sugar" in it from SS.

We were buying syrups from here:

Love their syrup, but it is not budget friendly. You use more of their stuff (than the stuff from SS) because it's not concentrated. I love their Golden Cream Soda and Vanilla Rootbeer; have to mix the lemon with something because it is tart (I like it with the lime). Steel city cola is hard core cola flavor.

We didn't save any money. Just had some fun with it, for a few months.

You should give the Naturals a try, we use the Root Beer and Ginger Ale and we all really like them.

I L O V E :goodvibes my SodaStream and I do not drink any soda.

I use it for seltzer, since that is all I drink with the exception of alcohol :rotfl2:

If you are getting one, I would suggest getting the most up to date model that shows how much is left in your cartridge as well as the settings of how much carbonation you want (my settings come in little, middle or a lot, shown by a bottle with various amounts of bubbles LOL).

I have three bottles and that seems to work for me.

I did not purchase it to save money or the environment but for convenience and it saves my dh from always having to add 5-10 bottles of seltzer when he goes food shopping.

I got one for DH and he loves it (I use it occassionally). I am not sure it is actually saving money, but it's more convienent than buying a bunch of heavy soda at the grocery store. I also don't have to hear DH whine when we run out of soda, since we always have several syrups.

One thing I like is that I can add less syrup and have a less sweet soda. I find a lot of soda too sweet, so I make mine with half the normal syrup.

$60 sounds like a decent price, could you use the 20% off coupon with that? Like others said, it's the type of thing to be on black friday specials if you can wait.
