Soda mugs/program?

Your AAA Diamond Club card (an additional page in your cruise document book - lead person only will have this page) will contain the following:

Description of your AAA discounts: 10% off all activities at Castaway Cay. Must be reserved in advance at the Excursion Desk on the ship. They will charge you full price. When you settle up at Guest Services, they will credit you the 10%. Show them this page.

10% discount on purchases of $ 75+ in ONE of the ship's gift shops. Again, I think that Guest Services will deduct the 10% later. Show them this page.

There might be some other savings - I can't remember.

A line listing the number of AAA mugs your party should receive.

Mugs are available all over the ship when you board. However, the AAA mugs are only available at one specific location. Ask a CM where when you board. I think that it was on deck 3 near Parrot Cay. At the AAA mug location, you will have to sign off on their AAA mug list (your name will be listed, along with all the other AAA passengers) when you receive your mugs - the CM will also cross out the mug "line" on your AAA Diamond Club page.

Bring a couple of extra neck lanyards to "carry" your mugs around. The lanyard that I got with my Passporter worked great.

1. Fountains sodas cost literally pennies. One individual would be hard pressed to drink $1 worth of soda (remember we're only talking about between meals here) in a full week's cruise. It seems that they'd want to include sodas in the price of the cruise -- they could really play it up as a big perk -- rather than irritate people by charging.

2. The mugs can't be properly cleaned in your bathroom sink. Lots of people are probably just rinsing them out -- yucko!

Hello All!
When are sodas actually included? Are they free with all dining room meals, or can you get them at Pluto's or Scoops as well? We only would maybe drink one a day as well, but the other cruise lines I've been on charge for sodas regardless of where you get them.
Thanks : ~ )

Sodas are complimentary at breafast, lunch, dinner in the main dining rooms (not Topsiders or Plutos or Pinocchio or any on deck places to eat, not through room service either).

So how much is it to buy the soda sticker for a 4 day cruise. I have 6 kids I will be bringing and I need to figure this in the budget. Thanks Hlfdzn ( Melissa )

Does anyone know if soda is included in either the cat 1, 2, or 3 staterooms? This purchasing soda thing, for ANY cat. has got me in a tither. And we don't even drink soda! Do they do this on other cruise lines?

When we cruised last May we had Cat. 2 suite. I purchased the mugs before I found out that we could receive complimentary sodas. From what I've read only Cat. 1 and 2 suites receive complimentary sodas during the cruise and Cat. 3 gets an initial complimentary set-up and thereafter pays for soda. HTH

when we booked we chose not to use aaa because we dont drink
soda, but knowi see all you talking about a diamond card. is there any way we can call disney and give aaa # and get the card? I don't think so but i guess this is wishful thinking.

Every cruiseline charges for soda...not just Disney. Remember you get it complimentary in all the dining rooms at all meals.

No, you have to "book" thru AAA.

The Diamond Card does not save you THAT much.

I saved a total of $ 6.00 on the entire cruise. (Castaway Cay float and bicycle rentals)

WE bought them at the resorts we stayed at when at WDW and imho they are a waste of money. Learned from that experience that it wasn't for us.
The mugs are a pain to carry around (stickers better) but even then if you stop and pick up some sodas before boarding, throw some in your room fridge and get the free ones with meals its quite a bit of money saved. IF you really need one while not near your room just buy one at a bar. Still cheaper than the mug programme.
My feelings on this very deep subject. :)
Cheers,
Grumbo
