Well, it's that time of year again. My youngest son (6th grade) has to do a social studies fair project. For those who don't know, a social studies fair is similar to a science fair only the projects are done on things in one of the social studies strands: history, economics, sociology, anthropology, etc.

DS wants to do something on Disney. We are trying to come up with a focus that would come under the economics strand since that is the least popular strand. Most kids do stuff in history, sociology, and anthropology. We are heading to WDW in 9 days so will be able to gather some materials/info while there. My dh says he will try to find out if he and ds can visit with someone in marketing with the idea of perhaps doing a project on how Disney plans to market the parks during an economic recession. That's one idea. All you smart and creative people out there; any other ideas or suggestions we might want to consider? We have to submit his intended topic and a short description of the project by Feb. 2 but the actual SS fair isn't until March 5, giving us a decent amount of time to gather information, write the paper, and create the display. This will be our LAST Social Studies fair as parents and ds wants to at least place. TIA for any suggestions.
