soarin

I'm the biggest wimp in the World, but I loved Soarin'.

Well, the first time I did have my eyes closed most of the time. The second ride, I was on the bottom row and that helped me to keep my eyes open (you can see the sides of the movie screen so it doesn't feel quite as real).

Then the THIRD time, I left my eyes opened and enjoyed it tremendously!
:yay:
So this wimp says, try it at least three times before you decide!

I don't like high, open spaces. Years ago, I had a panic attack on a ride at Six Flags that was very tame but took you up very high on a relatively unsteady, open platform.

I had heard such great things about Soarin' and figured I had to try, since I knew it wasn't really going to be me hang gliding.

I loved it.

For me, the key was not being in the top row. I could see feet hanging down above me and while some might not like the illusion being broken, I think it helped me.

The row heights of Soarin' are 40 ft. (Row 1, this info is from The Travel Channel), 25-28' Row 2, and 12-15' Row 3 (The last two are guesses on my part).

The only drawback to Rows 2 and 3 are the top of the screen is partially obscured by the feet of those above you.

Soaring is the best ride I close my eyes on. LOL.
Well, not for the WHOLE ride, but most.
Heights really scare me, but I went on with my daughter, because she wanted me to. LOL. :scared1:

I'm a total ride scaredy cat and I'm afraid of heights too. But I LOVE Soarin', especially the first row so that you don't see anyone's feet. It's dark so you don't realize how high up you are, I try not to think about it and just enjoy the ride.

Hi, i am new to the boards, live in Scotland and have been to Disney many times. Soarin' has got to be one of the best rides in all the disney theme parks. I do not like heights very much but absolutely loved Soarin' and have been on it many times. You should definately go on it, just sit back and dont look down.

I do not like heights at all, and the first time I rode Soarin I had a hoodie over my head most of the time. However, as the ride went on I got used to it. We rode it again later in the same day and the second time I rode it I thoroughly enjoyed it! I find it to be really relaxing and now it's one of my favorite rides.

I am a terrible rider. Will not ride rollercoasters. I was a bit afraid when they first lifted us up so I had to close my eyes but then LOVED it!!! I cannot wait to ride it again. I never even thought to look down.

My 5 year old is a "wimpy" rider. She loves soarin'

She doesn't like test track, ee, splash mountain, ToT and said she doesn't even want to try rock n roller coaster when she is tall enough.

She likes the tea cups, aladdin, astro orbiter stuff like that. Hope that helps.
